Major VA changes

I always thought you needed 2a to highway-man people. Hm.

Anyway, could you perhaps add it so that you have to make 1-4 sentences of reasoning for adding the 1a, 4a/b, etc? So that they atleast have reasons to get the Minor VA.

I am very worried now, about there being too many villains on the server.

Now every player can be a pickpocket and con man whenever they want.

What we need now is a very strong guard force to combat the villains, aswell as much worse consequences if they are caught. At present villains can get walk away without having to face any real consequence for their actions; they might be killed, but then just get healed by the monks and return to their villainous activities.

Surely you should put in a few scenarios for people applying for minor evils. Otherwise you will get the most sh*t players conning, stealing ect..

Villains can pick the locks on those chests...

-Snip-

This will change very little for the play-2-winners, they can demand you pay them, they can threaten you with death but they can do nothing to follow through on it without an actual VA. As for those who may steal from chests, they still need to pick the lock and that requires a VA as well. This will really only allow for threats to be made and for pickpocketing and such.

@VAT I love you. 'Nuff said.

As much as I love this change, I can't help but be critical of this. What's going to stop people from abusing these evils? Like mass stealing from someone's chest. I still think there should be limitations or the system kills the purpose of making real VAs.

On the other hand, at least bandits that kill won't get a free VA. So that's a plus.

You need a GM to watch you in order to lockpick and steal from chests, then if you RP it well enough and are successful with your roll they will take some stuff from the chests and throw it to you.

So I don't see how these changes will enable people to go mass chest raiding. Unless someone doesn't lock their chests, but it is very easy to pay someone to do so if you haven't donated.

YES! I love the new changes, unfortunatley. My fave, 2b, still needs references. That's understandable though.

With recent discussion' date=' the VAT has decided to let the world of LOTC be a bit more freer. We figured the community would be grateful for the freedom we are giving them, so we decided against asking. It seems we were incorrect.[/quote'] The community is grateful, they just don't know how to show it.

As far as I can see 4b should not be a free VA. It means anyone can corrupt that and perhaps 1a should be limited unless you have a VA for it.

VAs were fine before, I don't understand why they need to be changed again that and I would have highly recommended a poll or something asking the player base before such a large change was made again.

4b will be utterly useless on a large scale term. A petty villian can easily bribe a city guard, but can one corrupt a whole system alone? Hardly. That would takes years of planning and a very particular set of skills that an average villian in these times would not possess.

Well to be honest, criminals even today get out of jail, prison, etc and continue to do criminal acts....

IMO, Jail breaking should be on the minor VA list too. There's many RP situations where some of my friends would have been imprisoned in-game, and that my char would do almost anything to rescue them. Also by the time I would have actually written up a mini VA for jail breaking and had it gaining a verdict, they would have been set free/killed/or escaped themselves.

So, I am sure this was already asked, if we were to want to get a VA for evils for 2a 2b and 2c, would we need to have the accumulation of all the references needed, meaning 9 references, or only the the max amount of 4 required for 2c?

You would need the amount of references equal to the amount needed for the evil that demands the most. So if you apply for 5 and 1a, you'll need 5.

For future reference, please keep this to the Q&A, it's there for a reason.
