Shattered Sands

The sun rose over the desert as Pok slowly circled his former brother. The Rex was already long gone and had escaped with his cub. Grool snarled at Pok, “Lat filfy rebul, lat wyll bi flat zuun.” The pair continued to circle each other, their eyes locked and did not waver from each other.

Pok snarled back, “Lat am nub guin’ tu klomp mi, mi hab klomped albai strunger den lat!” He readied his war hammer, placing it in front of him, ready to strike. Grool struggled to follow Pok as he moved rather quickly around him.

Suddenly, Grool charged Pok, his shield and scimitar in front of him. Pok roared, swinging his war hammer with all his might. Pok splintered his shield and landed a hard blow to Grool’s side.

Grool stumbled over, lifting himself up and mumbling, “Skahin’ shara, lat wyll neba bi part ob de Uzg aghain.” Pok laughed at Grool and readied for another move. The white Orc lumbered up, raising his slightly broken shield in front of him. He began to circle Pok.

The old Orc moved slowly, studying the movements of Grool’s feet, watching him as he moved. Pok snarled at Grool and then slid into the sand, attempting to knock Grool down. The younger Orc fell to the ground, collapsing into the sand.

Pok jumped back up, slamming his war hammer toward Grool. However, Grool used his speed to maneuver out of the way of the war hammer and roared. Grool charged Pok, barreling him over and putting him on his back.

A loud metallic clang rang through the air as the metal of the two Orc’s armor clashed and they fell to the ground. Grool attempted to stab Pok however Pok overpowered the Orc and put him on his back. He shoved his tusks at Grool’s ear, piercing it and then pulling away his helmet.

Grool picked up his helmet, grabbing his sword and noticing his shield was now completely broken. The shield was tossed to the side as Grool charged Pok again, this time Grool was ready. He slashed and swung his scimitar furiously.

Pok was not ready for the rapid charge and lands on his back, only managing to land two hits on him. The old Rex, turned rebel went to his knees, snarling and looking up at his old friend. “Lat wyll bi damned bai Krug.”

Grool spit on the rebel and snarled, “Nub, lat hab betrayed de Uzg agh lat wyll bi flat. Bud dat daeh am nub todeh.” The Orc looks at his friend and then tosses his Scimitar to the side, retreating back to the Orcish encampment. Pok looks to the sand Orc before returning to his own home, preparing for the next battle.
