Beneh 227 Share Posted January 13, 2013 It is quite clear Lobo has spent days fixing up the notice in his best handwriting in order to make it easier for folk to read, yet there is still the occasional mistake. Issued by the Sheriff As decided by 'te Elders and Sheriff changes wull be made to how you obtain a burrow .Only the Sheriff will be overseeing the trials and giving them out. Fae' now on , All new Halflings will be required to prove their worth to the Sheriff before they can obtain a burro'. The Sheriff will give them a number of tasks to prove their worth to the neighbour'ood before they will be granted the all-loved burrow. These tasks will completely vary yet it can be assured none are impossible for a true Halfling. So , you're new to the Halfling Settlement and you are seeking a burrow. What ye' must do is find or contact the Sheriff and point out the Burrow you desire. Then , taking several factors into account , the Sheriff will give ya' yer' all-important trials ! There is no time limit for the trials , yet if somebody comes along whom also wants the burrow and completes their trial before you they'll get the burrow. So be snappy ! Should a situation occur where both halflings desire the same burrow , they will be given the same trial to prevent one having far more to do in order to prove themselves. As a new halfling , ye' should also try and help around the community and be a generally fun lad 'tae hand around for if any'un comes to the Sheriff stating they believe you would be a brilliant addition and worthy o' obtainin' a burrow , your chances will be significantly higha' ! All that said , the trials themselves will be nothing impossible such as killing twelve moontain' trolls ! It will be things relevant to the Halflings. Perhaps baking ten cakes along with five tankards filled with the best ale. For example in this task , in order to ensure your ale is up to standard you will need to speak with a current halfling whom has a burrow an' have them help you brew the ale of your dreams ! Upon returning to the Sheriff you would then be required to name whom helped you , which the Sheriff would then verify along with giving him the ale ! The same process would be repeated for the cakes , you could also do them both at the same time and give him the cakes and ale along with names of the halflings whom helped you at the same time , that may be a faster way. An' for those who dinnae' know , I'm 'te Sheriff ! Name is Sheriff Lobo ( MC Name : benny508 )That is only one example however , but almost all tasks will require you getting help from the current Halflings , then tellin' the Sheriff whom helped ya' which he will then verify. This allows you ta' get tae' know the Halfling Community and also get a taste o' our lives before ye' get yer' burrow ! In short , to obtain a burrow if you are a new halfling : Find and speak with the Sheriff Show him the burrow you desire Listen to your task carefully Proceed to complete the task with help from current halflings ( Halflings with a burrow ) Return to the Sheriff after you have completed the task and give him the names of all halflings whom helped you Await the Sheriff to verify the names Await the verdict of your trial ! OOC : So yep , this is the main way we aim to stop ' Bad Halflings ' getting into our community in the first place. The whole purpose of getting help from halflings whom have burrows and are members of the community is so they get a little taster of Halfling RP and can get a few tips from the helping halfling as they are helped too complete their task for the Sheriff. The Sheriffs MC name is : benny508 As stated , the tasks will be nothing hard. They will be similar to that of the example I gave. Only new halflings will be required to complete these. We can trust all you veterans

Beneh 227 Author Share Posted January 14, 2013 Thumps Aris on the back as he pins up the note , giving it a quick read before pulling it down." Only new halflings need 'tae do the trials lad. Ye' dun' need tae' do 'em. " ( Read the spoiler at the bottom http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/smile.gif As a note, all halflings whom have reserved burrows yet are still new to the community will be required to do trials, the burrow will simply be reserved for them unless they give up on the trials. )

Saviordude 133 Share Posted January 17, 2013 ((Bravo, I believe that you can get a Halfling Burrow if you are well known by the Halfling community. Back in Asulon Petyr gave me a home in the Vale, so it should be possible. Although I suspect that you would need to treat it as your "real" home, instead of a vacation house.)) Beneh 227 Author Share Posted January 17, 2013 ((As a veteran halfling, would I need to complete this all, as I have a new character.)) ( Your new Halfling will be required to do trials, yes. ) (( Could a dwarf get a halfling vacation home in the manner of a halfling? )) ( Vacation Home ? In short,no. For a start a Vacation Home wouldn't be allowed for anybody, since it's essentially saying you will occasionaly come visist, yet leave it abandoned for most of the time which means an active Halfling may well be out of a burrow. If you wished to try and go for a burrow, you would have to be and wish to remain a known and loved face with the Halflings, at which point you would be considered. )
Beneh 227 Author Share Posted February 23, 2013 ( Now that 3.0 is upon us, I implore all halflings to read this as the procedure of getting a Halfling Burrow is vastly different from what it was in Asulon and Aegis, that coupled with the fact many of you still havent read this. This system of obtaining a burrow is starting now, in 3.0, so it is imperative ya'll read it so you know what you're doing. )

((Anyone with experience as a halfling who understands lore and has had a number of halfling experiences. Not sure if that's 100% correct, but I'm sure you probably get one)) Edit (I'm doing Beneh's job for him, how pathetic...)
Beneh 227 Author Share Posted February 23, 2013 ( A Veteran Halfling is somebody the Elders and I will have known during 3/4 of Asulon. So essentially, if you were here for a lot of Asulon, you'll get a burrow. And by that I mean you must have been active within the community However, all you need to do is ask the Sheriff and he will tell you there and then if you are required to do Trials. )
