What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I've played on role-play servers on other games. I've also played tabletop role-play games such as D&D. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I thought I should look around for a role-play server and this is the best that I've found. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/82320-human-eorith-dareld-2nd-attempt/ Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Yes I have. Have you read the Human lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes I have, in-fact I found it quite fascinating.DefinitionsIn your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Role-Playing is simply taking on the role of a different life/person. For example in my case I will be taking on the life of a Swordsman/Merchant who wants to own an Inn life his father who was taken away from him. Meta-gaming: Meta-Gaming is where a person lets real life information/emotions interfere with in-game decisions. For example if a person knows in real life where an enemy is, however his character does not, he uses that information to ambush his enemy. Power-emoting: Power-Emoting is role-playing in a way that makes you over-powered. For example, a person who is engaged in RP magical combat. That person starts to say that all the other persons magic misses, or is absorbed. Where as in the game most of those fireballs, or arcane blasts should have struck him down, or damaged him at the least.In-Character Information:Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Eorith Dareld Current Age: 24 Sub-race (if any): N/A Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Eorith grew up in Arethor his young life. Eorith was an orphan until the age of six. However he was adopted by Moreth Eache the owner of an inn. This man took him into his home and put him to work at the inn. Eorith knew he would be eternally grateful to Moreth for giving Eorith a home. During this time he learned many skills from people who came from wide and far and stayed in his newly found fathers inn. But he always enjoyed practicing with swords on dummies in the small backyard. He also found when he was young that he could trade with the guests. Through those years he was able to gain skill in haggling to the point where his father often said he was going to grow up to be a merchant. His life was good for the most part; but that all changed during the summer when he was 19. He witnessed the kind man who had taken him in, get taken off to jail for a crime he didn't commit, as well as all his, and his fathers possessions. This caused all kinds of trauma, and a next few years where he would truly develop. Eorith now goes through life as a lonely sad man on the verge of depression. He often feels as if there is a chasm of emptiness in his soul, his father, his home, everything he had, was gone. Now he finds himself wandering the world trying to find something to give him purpose. He hopes to over time make enough money to open an inn like his father had.Ambitions for the Future: To own his own business like his father.Personality: Tough, yet merciful. He is sad on the inside, but he tries to keep that sadness contained underneath joy.Skills: A sort of jack-of-all trades, however he seems to be especially skilled in swordsmanship and haggling.Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Light-Skinned, medium build, dark hair. Any other details you wish to share about your character:Open-Response-Questions]Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer: I try to get a better look at the man. But I cannot seem to see his face. Next I decide to walk over to the guards. Trying to not draw attention I tell them, "Guards, look over there at that man, he seems awfully suspicious, and he is going towards the palace!" The guard who seemed to be in charge replied, "Thank you, we will investigate it." Walking away I wish to myself that I could do more, but for now those guards should do.2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer: I see the bandits pushing around the old man. Bullying, that is what those bandits are. And bullying is something that I truly, deeply, hate. So I decide to take action. I shout, "Hey! You their, leave that man alone!" They turn to each other and begin whispering, after a moment they turn back at me. One of the bandits replies, "Leave! Or else we'll have to, deal, with you as well." I reply, "You leave me no choice..." I charge at them with my sword pulled out while yelling, "Haaaaa!!!" (At this point I can't really say what happens since I can't really control the other characters, only my own.) 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer: I begin to look around the stall for a moment I see that he doesn't have set prices, which I see as good. I notice that he has bread as well, and I am low on food. I start the conversation by stating, "I need some more food. Do you think that 10 minas will do for 2 loaves of bread? The man replies, "I think you could do a little higher than that, how about 15." I sigh, "How about 12 minas, I believe that is a fair price." The man grew a content look across his face, "alright, fair enough, here is your bread." The man hands over the bread. At that point I hand him the 12 minas. I walk away happy with a fair deal.
MonkeyCoffee 516 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Your application has been... Don't worry, it's not that much, so it'll be an easy thing to fix! First of all, I found all of your Open Response Questions to be quite short. I wish for you to expand on them. Secondly, you may control what the other characters in the Open Response Questions do, so in your second Open Response Question, you are allowed to control the bandits, so maybe you can use that together with the first issue! Please re-apply in 24 hours from this post or face instant denial. If you have any questions, pop me a PM!
