Definitions

In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions
from elsewhere!:

Role-playing:

Role-playing is when you step into the shoes of another person, other than
yourself. You control them, yet are not yourself while doing so. The character
you are playing as can be anything, anyone you wish them to be. You act upon their
decisions based on what circumstance they are in, without using your
out-of-game knowledge. You are the character.

Meta-gaming:

I avoid using out-of-game knowledge to give my character an advantage. If I
have seen a nametag, I may not run towards this player, as my character has not
seen him. I can only do this if I have seen the physical appearance of the
player.

Power-emoting:

Power-emoting is where you use fair and equal play, without making yourself
to over-powered, or under-powered. If I were to say "I ran at the tree and
grabbed onto the 5th branch" I would be over-powering myself. I would use
this as correct usage: "I ran at the tree, and struggled to climb the
lower branch. I pulled myself up, but had not the strength to climb any
further.”

In-Character Information:

Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Elsil'chirr (Wolf of the Sword)

Current Age: 113 years of age

Sub-race (if any): Mali’ker (Dark Elf)

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

Elsil'chirr was a very mischievous child. He lives in Malinor, as do most
Elves. He had no siblings, so he'd run around with the other elvish children,
climbing trees, digging up dirt and wandering around during the night. He
wasn't the bravest, nor the strongest, but he was full of adventure. He
wouldn't do anything he deemed as dangerous, and was very cautious. His parents
tried their best to strengthen their child, but it never worked.

Elsil'chirr's father was an Assassin, and wasn't often at home. It was
strange, because the Elves had never really been fighters. His father just
wanted justice. Elsil'chirr's mother found it hard to bring him up, because he
didn't have his father there with him.

Elsil'chirr's father went out on a contract one night, and said he'd be back
a week later. He never returned. Elsil'chirr believes his father was kidnapped.
The people he killed weren't killers of the sort, but slavers.

Ever since then, Elsil'chirr has been acting differently, and is hoping that
one day he can find out what really happened to his father. He stays with his
mother, hoping to keep her hopes high. But she is growing old now, and may not
be able to stand the stress much longer.

Ambitions for the Future: Elsil'chirr's ambitions for the future are simple
- To find out what happened to his father. He also wishes to speak to High
Prince Bravepaw to find out if he is aware of any secrets concerning his
father’s death. He may also consider gaining a job as a Sentinel.

Personality: Elsil'chirr is a kind-hearted individual, who dislikes
fighting. He will always try to talk things over, but will get physical if the
one he is speaking to swings first. Even so, he will not try to harm his
attacker, just stop them.

Skills: Elsil'chirr is skilled with the Sword, but is easily matched to
those older, more trained in the art of combat. He is not too bad a shot with
the Bow, although it is not his preferred weapon. He is light-footed, and very
stealthy when he wants to be. As well as these skills, all that time digging in
the dirt has payed off. Elsil'chirr is very good at herbalism, and helps his
mother create medicines for those young elves that fall sick.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one
paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as
possible and do not break character or lore at any point.

____

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and
snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking
a small Wood Elf child. How do you react?

Answer: I walk towards the High Elves and explain to them how childish their behaviour
is. I tell them to leave the child alone, yet they don't. I turn back to the
child, and ask him what they are teasing him for. He tells me “I was out wood
for my father, when they came and started picking on me. They knocked the wood
out of my hands and started teasing me and calling my weak.”

The child begins to tear up, and the High Elves behind me snigger. I turn
around, and threaten them. “Leave this poor child alone, or feel the wrath of
my blade. I will not allow you to harm someone as little as this.”

The High Elves share a word, and one of them steps forward. “Try me,” he says.
I unsheathe my blade, my hands quavering. I reply “This is your last chance.”

The High Elf speaks again. “I shouldn’t be wasting my time with you, outsider,”
he sneers. He turns away. “Let’s get out of here,” he says to his companions.

I turn back towards the child and ask if he is alright. He tells me “Yes,” and
then thanks me for helping him. I turn and walk away.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old
man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground
with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which
hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man
lies there, defenceless - what do you do?

Answer: I rush over to the man, and ask if he is alright. He lets out a groan,
and so I think for a second. I lean over him, and explain to him that my mother
is an Alchemist. I gather up his coins, and slip them in my pocket, then sling
the man over my shoulder. I carry him half-way back to my mother’s house, but I
do not have the strength to continue. I explain to the man that I cannot
continue.

I pull out of my bag a jar of medicine. My mother gave it to me before my
departure, in case I came across any threats that injured me. I squeeze some
onto my finger, and tell the man to open up his mouth. I slip it onto his
tongue and he gulps it down.

We sit there for a couple of minutes, and I wait. The man lets out a sigh of
relief. “Thank you, son. You have helped me very much. May I have my coins
back?” I nod in reply. “Keep half for yourself,” he says.

“Thank you,” I reply. I help the man up, and he continues on his way, with the
rest of the medicine I had with me.

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small
clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and
calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells
just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price.
What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and
the discussion involved).

Answer:  "I would like to purchase a pouch of feathers," I
reply. "For a reasonable price of course."

The trader exclaims "Of course, of course! What price are you willing to
buy these feathers for?"

"It depends - How many are there per pouch?" I ask.

He replies "Two-dozen, but you can purchase extra pouches if you
wish!"

"I will pay 8 coins for a pouch. Feathers must be farely plentiful for you
if you wish to sell so many."

"How about 10 coins?" he asks.

"I will only pay 8. You need no more."

"8 it is, sir," he says, giving in. He hands me one pouch of
feathers, as I place in his hand 8 coins.

"Thank you. I will be on my way now," I say, as I turn and begin heading
home.

The Application is good, but I need some things changed before I can accept you;

Your definition for power-emoting is much improved, it just needs that little touch.

Your biography was very much improved and contains sufficient lore, but in your ambitions you mention talking to High Prince Bravepaw. I shall tell you that he is no longer a High Prince, but you could have checked it in the Elven Roleplay section HERE

If you are able to change those two things within 24 hours, message me and I shall accept you onto Lord of the Craft!

Welcome to Lord of the Craft! Please wait patiently for a GM to implement you!
