Meta-gaming: Using information you've heard of/know outside of game, but use it anyway, usually to avoid disaster

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

Early ChildHood: Plonas and Phineas grew up in a stereotypical dark elven setting, archery, dance, etc. Only differing bit is when plonas was about 85 their father died in an incident regarding a plague that had afflicted the previous realm of Asulon, where he recided.

The older began packing, as he did for most of these adventures, whilst the younger mingled with folks at the brewery, or practiced his lyre atop one of the many rather squishily capped giant mushrooms he'd often end up accidently napping on, that sprouted about their capital like weeds during spring. Before exiting the place of residence, the older looked over into the near untouched den, across the walls bookshelves of tomes and scrolls from various adventures his father had went on sit side by side each other, all looking like they'd been bought only yesterday. "They really ought to" He said to himself regarding the notion of how new the shelves looked, amoung the other things that happen to occupy the room, a bear skin pelt, a lovely chair composed out of some of the finest dwarvish leather his father could haggle for, and a mighty buck, atleast of 11 points, of which his father brought down with a single arrow to the eye of the creature are some of the many articles of a gentleman that decorated the room so finely. With a heavy sigh, which carried with it the thought of happier times, he left the house, and went to search for his brother, of which was found on the latter of the two examples, dozily day dreaming of the adventure to come, and with a shaking that had snapped him out of his thoughts, the younger new it was time to depart.

In the darkness, they climbed, through the pieces of toppled carvings and arches, they treked on. It had been some days since they left their homes in the Dark Elven City, Reminising of times at the pubs, and the occasionally attended theatrical piece, they moved on, near silent. One, Plonas, the younger, beared a torch, not one of flame, but of redstone, as it wouldn't go out in times of need, and his brother, Phin, the older, beared a Rapier, with a shortbow to be safe. It seemed like an entirnity ago that they managed to catch word of this place, filled with archeological wonders, so suddenly behind the walls of a visited dwarven city. From what the stout, scruffy blokes had mentioned, an excursion of a ruin was to take place, and that the only known entrance being located in a collapsed tunnel embedded in a mountain not too far from the Dark Elf Capital, and that they'd have to "Go about a new one" as they said, the eldest presuming they meant constructing a dig site or something of the sort.

After the half-men had left the room, a rather ornate Guild Hall, presumably that of an archeological or relic hunting guild, a crude mock of the map was composed, and it wasn't long before a small satchel of redstone explosives, crafted by Plonas, for the younger was rather well to do with that of demolition, was planted and set off by a skillfully shot arrow, enveloped in flame, by the fingers of Phin. A deital thud rocked the mountain, and the brothers dove into a nearby alcove for fear of a rockslide, fortunately for them such a thing did not occur, and they marched ahead. Curiosities flooded the mind of the younger as they delved deeper.

"Brother?" asked the young, "Yes, Plo, what do you need?" replied the elder of the two, somewhat plainly, for he expected a barrage of questions. "Well, it's just..." the younger paused, "The possibilities of us finding anything of value are quite high indeed, but, at what risk is there?". "Would that be all your questions, plo? For I'd like to try and assess as many as possible in as little time." The eldest, again, plainly stated, brushing aside a patch of vine that would've intruded upon his path otherwise. "Yes'sir, only reason I'm asking is, that.." Again, a brief pause of the younger's part. "It's quite..eery down here, and I'm a bit..". As the youngest was about to utter the word 'Scared' the older brought the two closer by they younger's shoulder, as they continued walking, knowing this as a sign of protection, the younger leant his head against the older's shoulders as they walked on.

A few hours past of mostly silence, an occasional whisper from the younger, with a plain, and rather quiet reply of the older as they walked, and walked, sometimes climbed, but for the most part walked, until they came across something rather intriguing to the younger, it was something that made the older jump a bit at sight. A wonderfully smithed scythe, adorn with runes of what seemed to be of infinite languages, was wedged rather haphazardly into a wall, with a rather large redstone rune encircling it. However, the scythe was wedged in the lower rib of a skeleton, completely rid of any meat, or stench. The younger was astounded by their finding, and ran up to the marvel without precaution and began to tug at the discovered artifact.

Before the older could shout at the younger, the younger had already plucked the blade from the wall, and from the crevice where the scythe once resided, a great crack had split the rune in two, and with a redish explosion of magic, the younger of the two was blown back a ways, and skidded to a stop against the wall. The older, devastated by what he'd just seen occur to his sibling, ran over to him as fast as his legs could carry him, and knealt to his brother, picked him up like a mother would a child, and sat against the wall before weeping.

"Plo! Plonas! Oh Velulaei! Ahern Velulaei!" where some of the various mournful shouts the older tearfully screamed throughout the ruins, before, after a couple minutes, and several attempts at waking him, the younger woke, dazed and in severe pain merely from his older brother laying his head on the younger's chest to weep and pray. The older saw his confused brother awaken from what seemed to be death, and embraced him rather strongly. They stayed in that position for several minutes, not speaking a word to each other, the older gripping into the younger's back and neck when a particularly heavy barrage of wracked sobs was about to assault him. Then, incredibly abruptly, he stood up, and without saying a word, lent a hand down towards his brother, who took it, and was hoisted onto his feet, and picked up his newly found scythe, somehow unscathed from the explosion, and again they moved on.

From further exploration, they found a abandoned shack, presumably where the corpse, had it still been alive, would've resided. A tattered set of formal wear was found, including a lapis dyed admiral's coat, of which Plonas took, for Phin was content with his current attire. In several hours still, a dwarven excursion team blew through a wall several corridors down, and upon discovery of the two, politely asked them to leave, with a few ingots of gold a smith brought with him as insentive. Understanding the dwarves would most likely become violent if denied access to the place, and not equiped with the proper excavation gear, Plonas & Phin took the gold, and promptly left the place, to head for home, with the near untouched den, and smell of spores wafting through the air they missed so very much.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react?

Answer:

(Plonas) Would shout in wood elven to cover your eyes, toss a firework into the fray, and as the high elves are confused by what just happened in the cloud of multicoloured sparks, I run in, pick up the child, and dash off, and at a suitable distance away, puts him down, ask him where his house is, and lead him there.

(Phineas) Would simply walk into the middle of everything, pick up the wood elf, sling him over his shoulder, and walk away, hoping the confused high elves would not follow, and after a suitable distance has been made, he sets him down, ask him where his parents are, and lead him there.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer:

(Plonas) Would probably stand a tad baffled for a moment or two, then poke the old man vigourously with a stick gathered from a nearby tree several times, before checking his heart.

If Dead: Buries him, takes his stuff and counts it a blessing of the moon.

If Alive: Helps the old man up, gives him directions, and sends him on his merry way

(Phineas) Would sigh a bit, then check if the old man was alive or not.

If Dead: Buries him, takes his stuff, counts it as a gift.

If Alive: Get him up, brush the dust off, ask if he needed anything, give him whatever he need

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

Answer:

(Plonas) Would most likely purchase a cloak or any enchanted items on hand, almost always food. Would only haggle down to either what he thinks is right, the price of the ware in the elven capital, or a bit below either. Would most likely ask the man if he happens to know of any roving bandits, or magic colleges around, possibly ask the man trivia questions in exchange for money. Attempt to intrigue the trader if he is of interest of plonas.

(Phineas) Would purchase farming supplies, fletching supplies, and animals if possible, food almost always. Would haggle to the cheapest possible price, and then some. would most likely attempt to exhibit a friendly demeanor around the merchant, so he's more likely to sell cheaper, and ask small talkish things, such as how the weather is, etc
