Lore:

Irolkon? What is an Irolkon?
The Dwarven bloodline goes far back and records are well kept, yet the Irolkon seem
not to fit into a category. The name itself carries minuscule survivors after
the continuous tragedies since Aegis. The only history left of these refugees
is a family book has been passed down since the time of Aegis. In this book,
there contains a faded family bloodline and pages torn over the years, relating
to the history of this mystery web. This book seems to have been given to the
heir of the Irolkon leader since its existence, but the pages are so worn and
torn at parts many names cannot be deciphered. The most legible account can be
started at a dwarf by the name of Bûr Karad Irolkon, who (judging by the
generations) seems to have lived from a time near Urguan himself. Bûr Karad’s
name then leads towards many other names and initials, but the one to Azagohr
Irolkon, Karud Bar, and then one Khuzdul Irolkon is most significant. This
dwarf (Khuzdul Irolkon) spent the beginning of his life unaware of his family
name. That was, until his father Karud Bar went mad, leaving him with his
lifelong friend Gurlor. Gurlor was aware of the current standing of the clan,
and the day he took Khuzdul in, he pulled out the faded leather strapped book
containing the family name. Khuzdul then began his long study over the family
lore, pondering the questions that cannot be answered. Many portions don’t make
sense, the first page itself has an emblem etched into it, it’s most logical to
think it’s the family seal, but one just can’t assume. There are portions over
accounts of history written by ancestors, some ranging from the Caravan War to
the assassination of Grand King Thorik Braveaxe and relocation to Tazarak.
Other accounts talk of a Grand Tournament and an Irolkon who partook in it
along with the first account of a Doomforge.

Many pages still have yet to be read,
including the blood line. Khuzdul spends long hours trying to search the book
for hints or maybe another member of the Irolkon that is still alive today.
Perhaps they were once part of another clan or are the remnants of another back
from Aegis. Time is all that is needed in order to solve this puzzle.

None the less, there are legible
guidelines set by the previous Irolkon along with beliefs, values, and a
bloodline.

Antecedents:

I.   We may be a clan, but we are all dwarves, the same
creatures to which Yamekar has created. Your clan and the dwarves as a whole
shall be one, the Irolkon are no better than any of the others.

II.  A dwarf who betrays his clan is a dwarf who betrays his kingdom, exile or even death is the only solution.

III.  Watch your actions, honor in our name is the only thing we have left,

deviant acts reflect on everyone in the clan, not just you.

IV.  Respect your elders, for they were once you.

V.  Violence and Kinslaying are strictly forbidden, a beard for a beard only brings more conflict.

VI.  When you enter battle, do not expect to make it back, a dwarf never leaves his ground.

VII.  We are conformists, we follow our king in an acceptable manner.

The Family Name:

An Irolkon will live and die for their kin. Honor, reason, and trust are what bind us together, without these virtues we are no better than those who stand against us. Your kin is your family; they will bleed for you in order for your survival through the worst of your days. You are always being watched, remember that.

Customs:

It is quite common to seeengravings on the shaft or the head of and Irolkon’s weapon. (Explanation) AnIrolkon will stand his ground til death grabs his throat. His weapon is always to be held deep to him, a binding to which keeps his honor with him. It is quite rare to see an Irolkon’s weapon without its owner; if a lone weapon is found, death was the cause.

Section B: Forging of a Clan

  • The bloodlines of the dwarves have been defined. There is of no clan that we not already know of. For a clan to come out of nowhere would be absurd. The only logical explanation would be for a clan to split. Let this be the definition for the future clans.

However, you are able to make a family

Also you are able to ask one of the major/minor clans if you can branch off from them.

[His explanation of his clan is just fine the way it is. If the record is not kept in rp that he was once of another clan, it does not have to be defined. I don't see a reason why he needs to have it defined if, in rp, it is lost due to time.]

((I guess, but at least he should state what clan he came from))

This is an activity check for this clan. If there are any active members, now is the time to speak up. If not, I will ask to have this thread archived in the great library. This is to allow easier accessibility for the new dwarves looking to join an active clan. The link to the archived thread link will be kept in a new "Dead/Inactive Clans" section on the main thread for lore purposes.
