Out-Of-Character Information
Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate.

Minecraft Account Name:
 Cjmate8

How old are you?: 19

Time-Zone: Eastern

Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?:

I have read the rules, and I agree to abide by them.

What previous experience have you had in role-playing?:

I have experience role-playing in World of Warcraft and other Minecraft servers. In Wow, my role-play was particularly focused around acting. The guild I was in acted out scenes from movies and various plays. Because of this, my role-play text is similar to what you would read out of a book. My Minecraft role-playing experience is unimpressive because I have not found a server that takes role-playing seriously.

How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?:

I have been weeding out role-play servers for the past week in an attempt to find one that I can settle into. The other servers I have looked into stated that they were a role-play server, but in the end they were simply faction PvP servers with an impressive spawn. Although I have not been accepted yet, from what I see the community has put a lot of effort into making this server.

Link any applications that you have previously made for the server:

Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above):

I have posted on the Minecraft Forum.

Have you read the Human lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?:

I have read the Human Lore. In my last application I did not present enough information to satisfy my reviewer, but I feel that I have corrected my mistake in this application.

Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing:

Role-playing in modern games is the act of taking on a new persona in an attempt to bring to life a fictional character. Game role-play is very different from that of acting because acting is often scripted and different people can play the part of one role. In gaming, you often create your own character instead of being assigned a role, and you are the only one able to role-play as that character. The reason why role-playing is popular in video games is because you often have the ability to create a character and control him/her. Role-play is important because it allows humans to live out a fantasy life style in their own way, which is very different from reading a book.

Meta-gaming:

Meta-Gaming is using knowledge or acting on knowledge that your character should not have. In any decent role-play, this is considered taboo. Not only does it ruin the suspense created in a scene but it also breaks character.

Example 1: Joseph has stolen the King's crown. He was not caught doing so in the role-play, but he private messaged Maria saying that he did. Maria then reports to the guard that the crown has been stolen. Maria should not have had the ability to tell the guards information because she should not have known that the crown was stolen.

Example 2: The Dwarves have a secret mine that no other race knows about, and the secret is closely guarded. A player once role-played as a Dwarf but switched over to a Human. He goes to to the mine. Because he is now a human, he should not have known about the mine.

Power-emoting:

Power-emoting is the act of repeating many different physical actions in an attempt to pull the role-play  in a direction that favors the player. This is also considered taboo because it creates unrealistic settings and often upsets the player that this is used against.

Example 1: A rogue walks behind a wizard and attempts to pick his pocket. The wizard catches him and grabs his hand. The rogue gets away quickly and pulls out a dagger. The wizard unleashes a ball of fire at the rogue. The rogue is unaffected because he has on flame proof clothing. The wizard attempts to teleport away. The rogue uses a teleblock spell on the wizard.

(The player basically just keeps going on and on until the role-play goes where he wants it to go.)

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Sabri Nasser
Current Age: 19
Sub-race (if any): Southeron
Past /
History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

Sabri was born into the house of Nasser, a tribal desert clan with Southeron roots. The original head of the clan was among those who came to Asulon from Aegis. Despite strong ties with the Oren Empire, he chose to break off from the main branch of humans. With his family and some lesser clans who wished to join him in tow, he marched into the desert and created a small hold. By isolating his family from the rest of the world, he hoped to create a sanctuary. It was not his desire to create a village or gain power. He only wanted peace. He died shortly after they had settled in and a new leader was chosen.

Sabri lived the majority of his life as a farmer. Most would call it dull, but he knew nothing else. For the most part, his early life was uneventful. He expressed his desire to learn a trade other than farming, but there was nothing else. There was already enough craftsmen and builders for what little work they needed. Farming, however, was in constant demand. In time he grew to accept his position, but he wished to grow something different for once. Their entire meal was based off of wheat and what little meat they could find.

The day that his attitude changed was when the first traveler came through the town. They had always been isolated, so it was strange for someone new to enter the town. Everyone thought him to be strange. His skin was pale, he had long white hair, and his ears were pointed. No one knew what to do. He did not look like them, for they all had dark skin and black hair, and he did not seem old enough to have white hair. The village elder allowed him to stay near the outskirts of town, but he was not allowed to speak with any of the villagers or enter the town. The elf made camp near the village and agreed to his end. Sabri was livid. He would sneak out at night to speak with the man, berating him with question after question. The man had come to the village by chance while attempting to map out the area and look for useful flora. He stated that not many trekked out into the desert, but he wanted to find new items to catalogue. He learned that the man was an elf, that their buildings were made in conjunction with nature, and why he looked the way he did. For three nights, he came back to the elf again. Eventually the village elder grew tired of the elf and told him to leave. Sabri spoke up against him. The elder sighed for a moment, then struck Sabri across the face with the palm of his hand. Sabri was forced to remain in a cell for several days. When he emerged, the elf had packed up and left under the advice of the village elder.

Sabri did not forget the elf, but he did not follow him. He was afraid. He was still curious, but he did not want to shame his family anymore. Seasons passed. His life revolved around farming and housework. Eventually, his parents died from age. He loved them, but he knew very little about them. They lived their lives the same throughout the years. There was nothing to know. At that moment, he knew he had to escape and to find something more worthwhile. He took only food, running off into the night with a passion to see the rest of the world.

He emerged from the desert, lost and half starved. He did not know where to go because he had never been so far from the village that he could not see it. He had lost sight of the village for a long while. Eventually he found trees, which amazed him because he had never seen so many in such a confined location, stumbled into someone. He expected to see the elf from his past, but this was not him. His frame was similar to his own, but he had lighter skin an fair hair. He carried a hatchet in one hand and a torch with the other. Sabri was exhausted by this point and began to collapse under fatigue.

When he awoke he found himself in a building made of wood. It fascinated him. Their village did not have much wood and most of their buildings were carved from stone. He marveled in delight at several oddities, most of all a wooden box that could play music. He forced himself out of bed and moved towards a window, pressing his face against the cold glass. He stood in awe, mouth agape as he took in the surroundings. Eventually he had to leave the window, a man had entered the room and bade him good morning. Sabri smiled at him, holding his hand up in good gesture. He learned that he was in the city of Arethor, and that a local lumber trader had found him while looking for a specific type of wood. When he collapsed the trader carried him towards the nearest inn and paid for a room. Sabri asked where he could find the man, but the inn keeper did not know and that he left soon after. Sabri thanked the inn keeper for his help and left the inn to explore the city.

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperors palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer:

Sabri gazes in awe at his surroundings, amazed at the level of craftsmanship that went into building the various houses. He stops in front of a market stall, eyeing the various foods. As he does so, he notices a dark-clothed man stepping from an alleyway and moving down the main street. He would not normally pay him any attention, but he notices the man dropping a package near a bush as he heads towards the castle. Sabri quickly rushes forward and picks up the package, but as he does the man exits his peripheral. He sighs but notices a pair of guards. He heads towards them, handing them the package and describing the man. They stare at Sabri, baffled, and begin to tear into the package. Inside is a vial of liquid. One of the guards shoves the other forward and he runs towards the castle. The other quickly shakes Sabri's hand and follows suit. Sabri waves happily after them.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer:

Sabri quickly hides himself in the brush before the bandits notice him. He looks around, surveying the situation. Sweat beads down his brow, and he is afraid to move in fear that he may be injured. One of the bandits pushes the man up against the cottage wall, causing the man's blade to fly to the side, and screams, "Gimme yer cash old man." He punches the man in the stomach and quickly strikes him across the face before hoisting him up. "Dontcha mess wit me. I avent the time tuh be playin games wit yeh."

Sabri swallows. He know he needs to help the man, but he does not know how to react. He let's out a deep sigh and shouts with a deep accent, "Halt bandit! Submit and be taken to Konigsberg!" The bandits jump, startled. They do not attempt to find the origin of the voice and quickly run away. Sabri lets out a sigh of relief and runs towards the man after he his confident that they are gone. He hoists him up, carrying him inside the cottage. He is grateful that the sword and armor were not needed.

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer:

Sabri stares at the many wares, fascinated and asking many questions about what some of the items are used for. The man is clearly tired. "Look, are you going to buy anything or not? I don't have time for people without money. Sabri pulls out a money pouch. He had recently helped an old man, and he was given a bit of money for his help. Although he refused at first, he caved in and allowed the man to give him the money. He speaks, "I want these." He picks up a pouch of potato seeds. "How many can I have for this much? I will take whatever you think is fair." The man shakes his head, pocketing the coin and placing all of the seeds as well as some carrot seeds Sabri's hands. "You're not going to live long here like that ." Sabri smiles and attempts to wave at the man as he departs from the stall.
