The moon rises behind the great mountain ranges expanding from the Cloud Temple and along the back of the old Darkhaven stood a wharf where was docked a singular ship. Black armoured dark elves of the Falconates force loaded supplies. Upon the triple mast, black sailed vessel, worked many unarmored dark elves, preparing for a long voyage. The only illumination upon the ship was the one of the moon. The worshipped Velulaei that had seemingly much betrayed the Klarens.

And thus we come to the head...

Within the captains cabin lied Goroth on his bed. His crimson eyes looking up into the dark planks of the ceiling. He was thinking of his life since it had become open to all... Everything he had done since he publicised his reborn family had gone terribly wrong. People would wonder why he hadn't killed himself. He felt responsible for everyone he had lost, even for the death of the major part of his family. He felt that nobody cared for his ideas.

He thought over some of the major actors of his life... Matilda, a poison whisperer... Taeyla, his daughter which he denied the origin of... Rina, the one he would always search for forgiveness from... Xiiyah, his absent love... He was alone. If only the wilds hadn't taken Asulon. If only the undead hadn't led the Klarens to their demise. Those he cared for either despised him, or did not return the care he showed.

After a long moment he sighed deeply and stood off the bed, leaving his cabin to go to the furthest point at the bow of the vessel. He looked over the edge and thought of how easy it would be to fall, but he shook his head. He wouldn't hurt Rina again by killing himself, as she had once told him... It was selfish to do so. He turned to face the crew, eyes glinting their deep crimson before he spoke.

"Nobody cares for us in this new world, nobody cared for us in Asulon, nobody has cared for us... Our attempts at creating a haven for our kin have failed... because of us? Maybe. However, not without the help of those who want us dead for crimes we didn't commit... The hatred here is something that even our goddess cannot protect us from... We shall search for a new place, a place far from here where we can build our civilisation to its former and elder glory."

In response, the crew nod and look towards the horizon where the grand moon rises. The armoured Falconates unsheathe their blades and hold them up to the silver light of the moon. Silence is held for a few moments before Goroth does a quick nod and walks back towards his cabin.

As the moon reaches its peak, the black sails unfold, filling with the coastal wind and expanding. The ship creaks into movement before going silent as it brushes away from the wharf, leaving the desolate docks behind. Maybe some Klarens will return, from time to time, if they heard news of a calm atmosphere...
The Klarens were as of now... Gone.

Kaelin watches the departure nearby. He sighs as he places his Falconate armour on the ship, with a note attached for Goroth. With that he raises his hood and departs into the wilds of Darkhaven.

The message reads thusly:

Goroth; it was with great sadness that I learned of your decision to leave our shores. I cannot say that I blame you. Ours has become a path of death, darkness and persecution by those who hate us for the actions of others and the blood in our veins. I would not wish this path on anyone, and I do not judge you for leaving it. In many ways, you made me what I am today. You gave me a life and a semblance of purpose, and for that I can never stop thanking you. I will stay here, on this dark path, and try to brighten it somewhat with my actions, in the hope that balance may be returned to this tormented world. May you find the solace and peace that you seek, kae llir.

- Your friend, Kaelin Adharwen Mahariel

Taeyla clings to the aft of the Risen Falcon as it cuts through the waves away from Anthos. A sense of loss and longing clings to her heart as the mountains of Western Anthos begin to fade away. She absentmindedly begins to sing, catching the attention of the occassional passing Falconate.

The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you

On a dark new year's night
On the west coast of Anthos
I heard your voice singing
Your eyes danced the song
Your hands played the tune
T'was a vision before me.

We left the music behind as the dance carried on
As we stole away to the seashore
We smelt the brine, felt the wind in our hair
And with sadness you paused.

Suddenly I knew that you'd have to go
Your world was not mine, your eyes told me so
Yet it was there I felt the crossroads of time
And I wondered why.

As we cast our gaze on the tumbling sea
A vision came o'er me
Of thundering hooves and beating wings
In clouds above.

As you turned to go I heard you call my name,
You were like a bird in a cage spreading its wings to fly
"The old ways are lost," you sang as you flew
And I wondered why.

The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you

The thundering waves are calling me home, home to you
The pounding sea is calling me home, home to you
