Definitions

Role-playing: Role-playing is the act of taking position of a made-up character in a game and playing as them. Characters are normally made of the persons wishes.

Ex. A person who wishes they could be a ninja assassin could role play as a ninja assassin.

Meta-gaming: Taking information from an out of game context and putting it into an in game context, allowing your character to know information he/she would not know and have an advantage.

A friend tells you to meet somewhere in real life, but not your character, and you go and meet.

Power-emoting: Doing an action in game that does not have any actions that would precede it and not giving the other player time to react.

Cutting someone's legs off with out swinging your sword.

Full Name: Harrold Rivers
Current Age: 25

Past / History Harrold Rivers is a human who has been raised in Arethor all his life. He was raised with a father, Terrence Rivers, and mother, Oberyn Rivers, and two brothers, Gage and Manfred Rivers. He is the oldest of the three. He was educated and is able to both read and write. Harrold is a member of the Reformed Church, but is not fully involved. His father owned a successful tavern the city and his mother helped with the tavern. His father has pushed him to become a bartender and work at a tavern. His father is deadly sick with the plauge and out of work with his mother being barely able to support his father,. His two brothers are attending university and do not have jobs. He is in desperate need of a job to help keep his father alive and his mother from folding under all the stress.. His father's tavern was closed and Harrold is looking for a new one to work at. 

 

Harrold has been traveling the Anthros Highway for the past five months going into city to city looking for some form of work. He has stayed in each job he could find for a week or so, but then moved on, not fully satisfied. He is looking for a small town, but not to small. He has heard that Schattenburg is a good place to look for work and to meet some nice people.

Ambitions for the Future: Harrold wants to one day own a successful tavern run by him and have enough money to support him, his father, a potential wife, and potential children.

Personality: Harrold is a humorous person, knowing the right time to make the right jokes. He can cheer someone up with the right joke in a matter of seconds. He is a huge smart alek, but the good kind. He is very sarcastic. He is confident in what he says and does and doesn't look in to future consequences. He is very upfront and is not quick to judge or make assumptions. He is kind and compassionate to others, but can get mean if he needs to.

Skills: He is good at finding lies and exposing them. He is good at negotiation and bartering. He has mild skill with a sword and hand to hand combat.

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer:
Me: Hello sir, what are you up to this fine evening?
Him: I'm visiting the palace to see my old friend, The Emperor.

*Facing toward me and looking at the ground*
Me: Really? How do you know him?
Him: That is none of your business! Now be gone! Leave me be!

*Raises voice and is obviously irritated. Pushes me away*

*Guard looks over and start walking towards us*
Guard: Is everything okay over here?

Him: Yes! This man was simply being to nosy in my personal affairs.

*Pointing at me with an irritated but worried tone*

Me: I was simply asking what he was up to this fine evening and he said he was visiting the palace to see the emperor and I asked how he knew him.

*Guard looks at man*

Guard: Nobody is visiting the Emperor tonight. Now both of you go. Its to late to be out and about anyways.

Me: Ok sir, sorry to cause trouble.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer:
Me: Hello gentlemen, are you giving this old man trouble?
Bandits: Get out of here! We won't hesitate to hurt you!
*Old man is scared looking and his facial expression is pleading for help*

Me: Alright! Alright! I'll leave. 

Bandits: Now if you tell anyone, you're dead!

Me: Its safe with me.

*Walks away and hides in bushes. Finds a rock and throws it into the bushes to make a distraction* 

*Both bandits turn and old man looks around and sees me.*

*I make motion to run away and he gets up to move away*

*Bandits turn around and see the old man*

Me: *Draws sword* Come and get me! *Runs away*

*Old man is gone now*

Bandits: $*!t! Get him!

*I barely manage to escape*

 

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer:
Me: Hello! I see you're selling some items! How much are this beautiful mug?

*Picks up mugs*
Man: Ah! Hello sir. Name a price.
Me: Is (random number) 50 ok?
Man: Sure!
Me: How about 45?
Man: That works.
Me: How about 120 for all five of these mugs?

*Points to other mugs on the table*?
Man: You're going to need to go higher than that if you want them.

Me: Well I'd imagine 150 would work.

Man: I'd imagine not.

*Looks irritated*

Man: Now, you can make me a real offer, or you can leave.

Me: Okay, 200 for all five mugs. That's 40 each mug.

Man: Is that as high as you'll go?

Me: Yes, I'll do 200 for all five. That's the highest.

*Man lets out an exasperated sigh*

Man: I guess that will do.
*Exchanges money for mugs*
Me: Thank you sir!
Man: Not a problem.

*Mumbles something to himself. Overhears the words attempt and rip-off*
