Music By The Grove

Bored for the time being, Dedicant of the Druids Kairi Ephraus picks her way down to the farming area. She sits herself on the root of a tree as she sets her violin case, formally strapped to the female Mali'ker's back, onto the ground, and begins to undo the clasps. She didn't really care who heard or saw what she was doing, after all, it was the Grove, very little happened there.

She gently lifts the lid of the old Maple case to reveal a violin of the same wood type, as well as the bow, contained within. She only pulls out the bow for a moment, before reaching in again and pulling out a small wooden box, carved with the initials of herself in a flowing script. She slides the lid of the box up and off, setting it to the side as it reveals the rosin contained within. She tightens the strings on the bow before gingerly running the rosin over them, applying it with the care of a longtime practitioner.

As she finished this, she placed the lid back on the rosin and tucked it safely away, before pulling out the violin itself. It was kept in perfect tune, her having played it virtually daily for much over a century, and placed it against her jawbone. She closes her eyes, dragging the bow across the strings gently to check how it sounded, before gingerly setting off on a tune.

[[Void the second part of the song unless someone wants to come join me with drums.]]

Makayla strolls down into the Druid Grove, excited due to completing her first task. She was looking for her Guide, Seed Druid Kefi, but she cannot find her. She looks everywhere, until eventually hearing music coming from somewhere. Looking around, she finds the volume of the sound getting louder and louder before entering the farming area, noticing Kairi siting on the root of the tree. She smiles before walking up to her and sitting down, cross-legged whilst listening to the music.

Kairi's head was bowed down slightly with her eyes closed as she played, but she was aware of the person who had joined her. Her ears twitched lightly, the only indication she knew that Makayla was there, as she continued through the song. Even the birds seemed to be silent to her, it was a wonderful thing to get so immersed in her music that everything else faded to silence. A harmony of tunes continued to play throughout her head straight to her hand and into the body of the violin, before echoing into the farms and down towards the rearward gates of Malinor.

Verden looks up from the carrot patch he was tending, trowel in hand as he hears the sweet sound of an expert violinist. He smiles and looks over to her across the wheat field before turning back to his work, humming the tune in unison with her playing.

Titania sits at the table in her home, looking through old books and scrolls. Her ears twitch as the music echoes through the north gate and right by her home. She lays down a book, and glances out the window. Standing to approach the window in curiosity, she smiles to herself upon seeing the violinist under the tree. She returns to her seat, humming the tune lightly to herself as she continues reading.

After just dropping off another hefty load of wood to the Labor Hall, he was about to return to the Lumber Yard, when a sound caressed his ears, carried by the wind. Blinking, suddenly looking back, his mouth would open, the music being the most beautiful thing he had ever heard. Without a second thought, he would run down the path, looking left and right as he was nearly stumbling in his desperation. Upon coming to the Grove, he stood there, staring up to where he heard the music.

Ivar stayed still, staring directly to the source of the sound as he felt the music take hold of him, feeling as if it calmed him to his core. Remembering to breath, he didn't move a bit as a soft, simple smile curled his lips. He continued to listen, not feeling so brave as to approach such beauty of music, so he hung back as he listened.

Kairi decides to breach into the more uplifting portion of the song without the accompanying drums, unless someone decides in the future to join her. She stands as she does so, slowly moving her hips and legs in a small dance as she grins happily. Her eyes open to look around at the few people that had decided to listen and she offers them a pretty smile, but she had work to do. She continued to play and perform for herself, not for them, for that's what her music was to her.
