Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: Taking on the role of another character,
putting yourself in their shoes, abandoning yourself and immersing
yourself in the world that is created. The actions, decisions, words are
your character's.
Meta-gaming: Not staying in the mind of your
character - Committing actions based on information from OOC. Actions should be what your character would do, despite the knowledge YOU have, or the features of
the game - HUD, usernames, etc.
Power-emoting: 'God-moding'. RPing in a way that is overpowered, without weakness. Very un-fun for everyone else. Your character is a superhero, dodges everything, kills everyone.
Controls others' characters and denies them options.

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Aelidar Elsil'sirame
Current Age: 185
Sub-race (if any): High Elf
Past /
History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Born and raised the only son of Maehrir and Turrii'leyun as she became able to bear child. Until the age of fifteen, he learned that which is typical for High Elves. That fifteenth year of his life, with the attack on Laurelin, his parents were murdered by the undead hordes, and he was taken to safety by other High Elves.

He lived among them about 35 years, confused and alone. He acquired a lack of faith in the close-minded ways of the High Elves, seeing little of their 'logic' in their disdain for foreign cultures. He continued studying under his guardians, yet with a critical mind, all the while gathering an
appreciation for the mindsets of the 'lower races'.

And so, with his gathered knowledge of the rest of the world, he journeyed across the land, spending time with and studying the ways of other elves, and humans. He aquired some skill with the sword and bow, and a familiarity with both the forests of the Wood Elves and the cities of Men.

The High Elves that now resided in Haelun'or regarded
him coldly as he returned to them every few years. They viewed his
interest in the world as dangerous and foolish. Wishing to maintain some
relationship with his own race, he turned his outward connections into a
scholarly, respectable pursuit. Now, as he traversed Anthos, he wrote concerning the cultures and people he encountered.

Now, he possesses a small influence in High Elven society, though often seen as a negative one. In his writings he tells of marvelous lands and exciting adventures, raging battles and majestic cities.

Ambitions for the Future: Internally, he is frustrated by the barrier between himself and his people. He
wishes to bring them to a deeper knowledge of the rest of the world, but they disdain his teachings. He is torn between the desire to find a wife, and be part of proper High Elven society, and the desire to explore the lands he loves.
Personality:
Somewhat reserved amongst High Elves, until given the opportunity to share views. Enthusiastic when it comes to new experiences - wishes to explore every inch of the world.
Still affected by troubled upbringing - sometimes moody, cynical, melancholy.
Skills: Writing, Exploring, Familiarity in Swordsmanship and Archery
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):

Typical tall height and long ears of the High Elves, auburn hair. Often found frowning in thought.

While travelling about he wears a strudy, woolen robe, with various leather straps and pouches. From under his hood, his loose hair is visible.

In the cities of the High Elves, a modest but tasteful robe and hair drawn back.

This skin is most likely temporary; I'm looking for a more suitable one.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?

Answer:

I approach them, and stand between them and the young boy. The older elves fall silent, eyeing me with uncomfortably.

'What great, noble elves you are!'

I take a fruit from one of the trees and pass it to the boy.

'You should be teaching him! Show him the ways of the forest.'

The older elves shift before standing. One takes the boy by the shoulder.

'Let's go hunting.'

The young boy smiles and follows them down one of the trails.

I sigh and turn back to my path.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer:

I rush to the man's side, lifting him from the ground and helping him sit. He is obviously tired. I take some bread and water from my supplies.

'Many thanks.. I.. I was just wandering down the path. I like to spend time in here. There is a peace..'

He takes a swig of the water, and a bite of the loaf.

'Yes, it is certainly beautiful.'

I lift him further, and take him to a fallen log by the path, and sit him down.

'And how does a High Elf find himself here? A little far from your silver cities!' He chuckles.

'Well, I do enjoy to travel; to lose myself in such places as these..'

I briefly explain my situation.

'And you? Your story?'

'Well...'

And so, for the next hour or so, he tells me of his life as I listen intently.

'Good sir, I hope that I may meet you again, that you might help me with my writing. Your stories are fascinating.'

'Certainly!'

I pass him his stick and we part ways as the late afternoon sun falls through the trees.

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

Answer:

Upon his warm invitation I smile and approach.

'What have you got for me?'

'Food, equipment, tools! Anything! Everything!'

'Hmmm... I must say, I'm slightly hungry.'

I look over the foodstuffs laid out.

'Fruits, meats! These fish straight from down the river!'

'That salted beef looks good.'

'Ah, beautiful quality!'

I consider it.

'I'll take a handful, how much?'

'Thirty minas, I'd say.'

I'm not one for haggling, but this instance I try somewhat.

'Surely not!'

'Twenty-five?'

I pretend to consider.

'Look, I have some skins here; take them and give me two handfuls for ten.'

He sighs. Then chuckles.

'Deal.'
