The Anthos Mining System

I like the current timed respawn system. Though maybe making it a fourty five minute respawn rate since the

flow of people going in and out seemed to be quite abit. Other then that, I personally think it is great. Alittle

tweaking on the timed respawn and the design of the mines themselves. Also, maybe a few signs letting us

know which way is the exit if the mines get very deep and dark. Otherwise there might be alot of starving

people getting lost in the mines. Keep up the great work.

I completely agree with the Cave ins. I love the ideas of Natural disaster types of things. I've always hope to see these types of events. Event Team members and GMs can pop over to a mine every so often, and see if someone is in it, and maybe that someone isn't so lucky today, and the mine caved in, leaving only a hole large enough to fit a bird through, then RP happens and YAY. I think Events are too focused on the amount of people that'll be attracted, but sometimes it's nice to have an intimate event, with only 5ish RPers. This could be one of those events.

I would love to treat more people with mine related wounds rather than the usual stabs and infections, mostly stabs, so many STABS. But yeah, would make for some good rp, talking about a well worth day in the mines!

I have to admit I find the new mining system very dull. Not in terms of a lack of risk but more due to the lack of  actually being able to really mine. Its just a case of walking around a prebuilt tunnel looking around for an ore and and then mining that ore. No excitement of unexpected veins of 9 ores or hitting unexpected caves and water features. No tunneling or group mining. I hope the blocks you can actually mine in the future isnt limited to simply ores as well and that some of the ores are at least hidden because right now its like a treasure hunt where someone forgot to hide any of the treasure.

For aesthetics you mean? Or do you mean for us to somehow make the tunnels actually cave in with people mining in them? Good idea though :)

Both. I think it would be neat if you were deep in a mine with some people and it caves in. It would make for some great RP, as well as change the lay out of the mines a little. How to actually perform the cave-in is beyond me. Maybe using TNT or world edit.

The mining system is just wonderful. Is there an iron mine yet? I have been searching for one for quite a while now. . .

-Pokes head out of Ban Land to give advice-

Perhaps a really rare occurrence can be that a pickaxe has a chance to spark, which then causes natural gasses to light up and explode.

Now how could this happen in LOTC?

An algorithm based on the type of ore, the type of pickaxe [if applicable, wood wouldn't make a spark.] and make sure even then, that the occurrence is rare.

The block you are hitting, would turn into primed TNT and explode. causing serious damage to all those around, and maybe even then alerting a mod who can dictate if there are grounds for a cave in or to tell everyone what their injury is.

When the mines are set up entirely. Might we put one at the Malinor mine since it is already made? It would make more Roleplay sense because it is already built.

I think the mineing system is alright, though Iron is excrutiating to find. I know that there are players who want to be brew masters but iron is needed to make the barrels. I really hope an Iron mine or an Iron admin shop will be available. I understand that Iron is rare for a reason but I just think that without iron there are many things that cannot be used or are nearly impossible to get:

cauldrons

iron tools (for the more wealthy craftsmen)

buckets

tripwire (needed for barrels)

Other than that I really like the system, it prevents players from being hogs of all the ore in the land and selling it for rediculous prices.

Since everyone keeps mentioning iron mines :I

However, future mines will be larger, include higher tiered ores, and will of course contain some nice, deadly surprises!

I'm in the process of building the iron mine(s), that was the whole point of this thread so that I could ask you all what your opinions and suggestions were! :P

NO MORE DIAMOND. 100% IRON, REDSTONE, COAL, GOLD, AND STONE (bedrock too :3).

We will have a single diamond mine long down the road, but by then diamonds will not be able to be crafted into armor and weapons and such. It will have its uses, of course, but you'll have to wait until we get there until you find out what those uses are ;P.

Is there a possible ETA on the iron mines? Cause I think right now, Iron is the most valuable object and the price is gonna start climbing fast
