History: Korthos is the bastard son of a Raev prostitute and some Northerner
mercenary. He was raised by the brothel's madame, but left on the streets of
old Raev when he was deemed fit for street survival. He was forced to live off
whatever he was able to steal from the local merchants. At age 16, he fell in
love with the beautiful Agatha of House Dandelleon. Since the boy only carried
his bastard name, Ironcrow, she gave him a new, more respectable name; Korthos,
after a white knight from a fairytale she was told as a child. Their
relationship had to stay secret however, because her father, lord Frederic
Dandelleon, wanted her to marry a nobleman. He, noticing his daughter
disappearing and coming back with a smile on his face, sent a man to spy on
her. The spy found Agatha and Korthos in the woods, and went to tell Frederic.
When he heard about it, he beat her, and days after, she committed suicide.
 
Korthos found her suicide note at his "home", a primitively
made tent in the woods. Infuriated beyond belief, Korthos killed Morthyn with a
stab through the heart with a stolen shortsword, but he didn't run away. No. He
was going to pay for his actions. When the guards appeared, he let them capture
him. At his execution, a lord of House Carrion saw his passion and brute
strength, and bribed the guard to let him go. In return, Korthos had to serve
as bodyguard. He was castrated, so he would never love again.
