The Salvus Shop Edict

“With the blessing of King James of House Hightower ,second of his name. The following edict dealing with shops, stalls and what they can sell. This edict is purely to stop shops of all trades from entering salvus and destroying our fair economy.  These shops, which sell a vast variety of goods, put smaller, and more specialized shops out of business. Under no circumstances should a tailor ever be selling iron, and precious metals from outside his shop. This greed, and variety, among certain vendors makes it a challenge for masters of specific trades (I.E Lumberjacking, blacksmithing, farming) to make a living. It is necessary for the sake of the salvian economy, crown, and populace, that all this "varied selling" be put to a stop. With this edict, it is the Kingdom’s sincerest hopes, that we wish all vendors will be kept to selling within their needs, and respective craft. So,  with the King Signatures, the following shall take place”

Section I

Stalls

I. All Stalls are limited to a variety of goods to keep the choice of the nobles, merchants, and other classes of salvus lightly limited, and not to have any dominate a large scale amount of trade goods.

II. Each Stall owner shall contact the King, Steward or Treasurer of which items they wish to sell being limited to a small variety such as Metals, blacksmithy goods, Leatherworking goods, food, and such. Once they have notified one of the three of it their record shall be kept and they shall legally sell those goods.

III. One may only have one stall within Salvus, to prevent many of them and to prevent any to try to control the salvus economy.

Nicodemus stares at the poster for a few moments, a bead of sweat running down his brow. "They pointedly limit trading within the city to stalls and shops, encouraging limitus monopoly and slow economic growth... Then they control what is sold and outlaw owning more them one stall... Salvus was Oren's best chance to break out of stagnation, but now... Kal'Halla sounds better all the time."

Grayleaf looks at the poster for a second, then shrugs. "The economy isn't what they should be worrying about..."

With that, he walks off.
