A Soldier Returns... But He Is No Longer The Same.

Ihnsil Llumn'iheiu, Spear of the Sorrow's Wind, walks towards the docks of Abresi. He had just received a bird, with an unsigned note. It had told him to come to the docks. But as he nears, he notices a merchant ship, almost falling apart from cannon fire. A tall cloaked and hooded figure appears from out of the shadows. He seemed unarmed, but at these docks, it could not be certain. And suddenly, there is a glint of metal, and a rasp, as the man draws from his side a cutlass and dagger, and runs at Ihnsil. Ihnsil steps back, as the hooded figure flips the dagger to a inverse position, and attempts to stab him. Ihnsil quickly pulls his wooden kite shield from his back, raising it to block the man's follow-up blow with his cutlass. Then, Ihnsil pulls the shortspear from his back, and quickly jabs at the man's dagger arm's elbow. But the hooded figure, with the ease of practice, quickly sweeps his cutlass down, knocking away his spear, before following-up with a slash at Ihnsil's face with his dagger. Ihnsil leans away, unable to properly block it, only evade it... and only barely. The dagger nicks the bridge of his nose. And the hooded figure attempts to bring his cutlass arm's elbow into his chest as he is unbalanced. Ihnsil falls to the ground, raising his shield as he falls, to block any follow-up strikes, and just in time, so it seems, for he was saved from the hooded figure's follow-up blow with his cutlass, the man twisting his arm down such that if Ihnsil had not, the blade would have slashed down into his neck. Ihnsil thrusts, hard and fast for the hooded man's stomach with his spear, and the hooded man leaps away. Ihnsil quickly picks himself up, and clumsily raises his shield to block the man's next attack, before following-up with a quick jab for the man's knee. But the man blocks it almost effortlessly. And so it goes on for a while, quickly becoming apparent that the hooded figure is the better warrior here. Finally, you think that the tables have turned, as Ihnsil backs up, runs, and leaps into an adapted combat technique, the fencing technique that is known as the flèche, except this one uses a spear. And should you have been watching, you might have thought the battle was won, as the spear comes down towards the hooded figure. But instead, you see him smile, and he ducks, the spear flying over the top of his shoulder. Ihnsil quickly tries to pull his spear back, desperately, even, but you watch as the hooded figure instead trips him and drops his cutlass, such that as Ihnsil falls, the spear would fall from his hand... and into the other's. And the man stands up, knocking Ihnsil to the ground. And he finally says something, ever so mockingly.

"Goodbye, brother."

And with that, the man plunges the spear through Ihnsil's throat and into the ground. He lets go. The spear stays there quivering, for a few moments. Then it stops it's shaking, and Ihnsil's body is pinned to the ground. He searches Ihnsil's body, before coming up with... A... Note?

The man smiles. Stuffing it into his pockets, he turns to leave. But as he does so, a gust of wind blows, and the hood is knocked off his head. His voice, his eyes, and his fighting style all suggest one thing. To those who know him, there can be no mistake.

Elsil Llumn'iheiu, former bannerman of the Valkrae, and Sword of the Sorrow's Wind was back. And he is back with a vengeance.

((Ihnsil is not perma-killed, by the way. I made this RP post because they have slightly conflicting interests, okay, well, not slightly. Very. The rest you'll have to learn in RP.))
