The Map Of Asulon

A while back, at the time when Asulon was deleted, I heard rumours of a 2 months old version of the map. The staff decided not to use the 2 month old map, and instead create a new temporary one. Could someone please verify this? And if there is an old save somewhere, maybe it would be a good idea to give the community a download? Personally, I'd sure love to have a look at it again.

The version was going to be a pieced together version from multiple people, including the Media team Gaberiel0101x01 whatever his MC name is, which downloaded bits of the map for media team purposes. I think there may be an even older save of the map, but I think Tythus has this, from what was spoken about back around that time. Though, I don't see much issue with sharing the map, I shall be sending this to Tythus to see if he knows anything on the subject.

Best of luck on your search!

The issue with sharing the map is it is really large (over 8GB if I remember correctly).

The map doesn't exist as a full map, unfortunately. Some chunks were exported, but the Map itself is lost. Unless, of course,Vaq has a backup he hasn't uploaded.

Yeah, I still have my copy of Aegis, and it takes up about 9GB. Problem is though, it's from players wandering way beyond the border of the map and making it generate more. If none of the world beyond the limit it was supposed to be, then the world would probably be between 7-8GB.

Same problem with Asulon. People always wandered way out from the center, and on the Dynamap, it showed these long, random paths way off to the edge.

Still, I can run the Aegis map pretty well with almost 0 lag, and I've been rebuilding it slowly since it was released by Vaq for download.

Okay so, after speaking with an Admin, I was told there likely will not be a download of it, but there could potentially be one. Soo, very sorry, but it isn't likely.

This players questions have been answered and the situation resolved.

Should you wish to have this reopened, please PM me your reasons why it should be so.
