Caelria 2619 Share Posted June 21, 2013 (Listen to the music for a more effective read) -It has been a year now since Caelria Maehrindor was so much as seen. His house seemingly untouched by any but his wife or child, and his office in the laboratory already cleared out. But where did he go? What is he doing?- The cold winds of the mountain caves brushed by his face, his uncombed hair flowing over his ears and face. Ambros' voice flashed through his mind. "The void connects to the world here, watch your step." "The void." "Connect." "Step." His sanity was in a state of utter turmoil, he had been standing here upon the edge for days now. He was beginning to starve and to thirst, but he took no notice. He was focused upon the darkness below, the soft sparks of magical light erupting like bubbling magma. Questions flashed, countless questions. "Would it hurt?" "Is it worth it?" "What of Galanthil?" "What of Nariel?" "What of me?" He took another tentative step, the toes of his boots clearly off of the edge, his mind fogged by the hallows' insanity. His mind hurt... he hurt, his leg was broken from slipping down the stairway to the prison. He wanted the pain to end, the thoughts... to end. He had been through continent after continent, four hundred and fifty three years of continents, and war, and death, and pain, and thought. He wanted peace. "Stop it, stop thinking like that you damned fool." "Don't... Don't you tell me what to do!" He raised his arms, feeling the wind slowly push towards the abyss. Thoughts of Nariel and Galanthil brushing through his mind, betrayal... How could he betray them... This was more than he deserved... "The void." "Connect." "Step." And so he did, he leaned in, lifting his foot. He closed his eyes as he accelerated, feeling the cool stagnant wind of the underground tunnel push against his face like a soft pillow before... Emptiness. -It has been a year now since Caelria Maehrindor was so much as seen. His house seemingly untouched by any but his wife or child, and his office in the laboratory already cleared out.
