A Silent Cry

The tornado ripped through the main gates of Abresi, startling the young mute, Vera from bed. Her left ankle still throbbing from her recent "bungee jump" courtesy of Henry Horen. She limped her way out of the tavern, wanting to find her father so he can make the scary noises go away. The wind howled and ripped through the city, closing in. "CHILD! RUN!" someone in the city yelled. Vera turned, horrified to see pieces of wood flying around her. Scared, she hurried to crawl under a stall. Her body trembling as she silently screamed for her father.
 
The howling slowly grew louder and louder until she could not even hear the man next to her. Her eyes widened in fear as the tornado sucked her up. The air fled her lungs as she was thrown into the fountain. As she struggled to get out of the water, the tornado continued to tear through Abresi before vanishing only a minute later. Slowly Vera managed to climb out of the fountain, gasping for air. To her surprise a Neric man came to her aid, just as her father appeared.
 
Within minutes she was scooped into his arms and returned home where she curled up happily against him. Her happy reunion was soon cut short as she realized the wetness on her face was not water, but blood. She pulled back and looked in horror as her father bled slowly to death from a large piece of wood being impailed into his side. Horrified, Vera ran to the open roof and waved in a man to help her. Help arrived, but it was too late for Aislinn. As he slowly bled out, her mind screamed for him to stay with her.
 
She curled up against him until his breaths stilled. She stayed with him through the night and over the next few days before finally getting someone to remove the body. 'Where did papa go? Why did he leave Vera? Vera want papa.'

((this is in no way stating Aislinn perma'd. However, this is more so to respond to the tornado that hit Abresi. It was very fun and entertaining. As painful as the loss of Vera's father was, it makes interesting roleplay later))
