The Colonel's Leave

The Great Ser Edmond Brunswick, Count of Lachsin and Admiral of Kaedrin never quite recovered from the disbandment of an Order he had devoted his entire life to. He left with Adeon to Lonely Light, leaving a short note to any who may look for him, the note is depicted below:

If you're reading this, chances are I hold you dear to me. Call me weak if you like, but I cannot live in such conditions. I was a man who followed better than I could ever lead, so perhaps it's best I follow the best of them into the grave. I've wronged many, but I hope through my actions I have bettered the Empire. Best of luck in trying times, may Oren forever remain strong.

Upon reaching said island, Edmond lived peacefully for a few days, reading and practicing his swordsmanship as he would've done normally. He could not escape the intense depression that persisted and plagued him. Edmond got out of bed on a calm morning, fetching a canoe and setting off from the shores of the small island. On him he had nothing more than his tabard, his oars and his ancestral blade. When the island was no more than a tiny speck in the distance, Edmond halted the canoe.

Edmond inhaled, savoring the smell of the sea air. He leaned back against the bench of the canoe, staring up at the early morning sky, in which the sun had begun to rise, dappling the sky with various shades of violet and crimson. Edmond Brunswick was at peace, for once, and set himself to strapping on his armor, for the last time. When his armor was fully equipped, he grabbed the ancestral blade of House Brunswick and threw it unto the ocean, watching it sink with a rather aloof expression.

Once the blade had been fully swallowed by the sea, Edmond tipped the canoe, submitting to the clutches of the ocean. A fitting end for an Admiral, he thought to himself as the air slowly left his lungs. In a few minutes, Edmond Brunswick was dead, drowned somewhere off the coast of Anthos, in the mostly uncharted waters of Kaedrin.

((I request this thread not be deleted. I bid you farewell, Lord of the Craft, it's been mostly fun. With the departure of most of my friends, I don't see myself being able to continue playing on LotC. Enjoy the times to come, and goodbye.))

((What's with so many people leaving? What happened yesterday?))

((Most of us lost our incentive to play. Everyone who left has been planning on leaving for like a year now. Mog leaving was really the only inspiration everyone needed.))

((So people were planning to leave for a year, and suddenly most left at the same time? I doubt it))

A single oar washes up on the beach, a man clad in leather looks down at it, then at the sea, he sighs before taking a swig from a bottle of vodka, proceeding then to walk back into the cold, dark halls of the Marked Men's den.

"I'll see you soon, Brunswick." he muttered, swinging a heavy wooden door shut behind him.

((My apologies if you do not believe that, but considering I am friends with the people who left and have been talking to the people who left, I can confirm that people are unhappy with the server, have been unhappy with the server, been thoroughly discontented with the way things have been handled and how the community is and have had the desire to leave. Mog leaving was the straw that broke the camels back for a lot of us, so when Mog left the leaders of different factions left, and when those leaders left the members of those factions left. This has been a long time coming.))

((I am willing to talk about this in PMs so we don't clutter the thread though.))
