Buying An Orc Liver

Little notes are left around cities at knee height and on the floor.

 

"Want fresh jarred orc liver. Will pay 500 minas."

 

A feather is attached to each, probably intended as a scent for messenger birds.

Gooms is rummaging through one of the cluttered chests in the upper level of his shop on an unusually windy day when a small flyer suddenly slaps against the window in front of him. He is startled by the movement and his gaze snaps up to the annoying piece of paper. He is able to read the short message before the wind whips it away.

"Hrm. Dat suundz lyk uh speshul ruquezt."

He grins toothily, pulling a leather sack from near the bottom of the chest he was searching out into the light and unties the knotted twine that holds it closed. Inside is a set of small, very sharp instruments that he "received" from a human doctor in Elysium. He holds one up to the light, examining it.

"Wundur ef deze stell wurk..."

 

He fishes a slightly crumpled piece of paper out of the chest and scribbles a quick note of his own on it before rolling it up and pulling his small, clumsy bird out of its cage, fastening the note to one of its legs. He steps outside, just then wondering how he's going to get his note delivered when he notices another copy of the flyer on the ground. There is a feather attached to it, which he holds up to his bird for a moment before tossing it into the air, watching it make its drunken path up into the sky. He nods, satisfied.

 

The note reads: Come by Gooms: Trading Post and Workshop near the fountain in Abresi and speak with Gooms ((TheCleaningCrew)) in a few elven hours. We'll have your liver, one way or another.
