The Pure (Cult)

As you stumble through the forest, all over Anthos you would find many small clearings near rivers and meadows. Small circles where the area was cleared and footprints barely mark the hardy soil of the land. But, what could make such odd circles and clearings in such a desolate place as the forest? Who else but, The Pure

 

History

The Pure began with a small group of people, some married and some not. They began to turn away from their beliefs, looking to a new goddess. One who was free and pure, a goddess who would free them from filth and their chains. The Pure was created, a small group no bigger than 3 or 4 at the time.

 

The group began to believe they were chosen to be children of the goddess. They believed they were immortal and they were put on the land to purify all and do their goddess’ business. The goddess was no more than a thought. In fact barely any remember her name instead referring to her as ‘The Goddess of Light and Purity’.

 

The group fell more and more into their beliefs, they began to convert others to their ranks. They were no longer a religion, instead a cult of people who believed they were blessed by a goddess and were on a mission to cleanse the land of their filthy chains. They believed they really were immortal.

 

The group purified others, dressing them in white robes, the purest of colors and red ribbon the color of the goddess. They believed the forest river was the purest place of all and oil, the purest burning substance in existence. The group never acted in the shadows instead acting in light of day, proclaiming the news of the goddess to her ‘children’.

 

Ranks:

Divine-

The head of all, the purest of the pure. His leadership is shown by his albino appearance, and most importantly the oil lantern hanging from his golden staff.

 

Holy Choir-

A rank reserved for a maximum of four people, they are noticeably pale, their skin and hair a pale white. Their eyes however are a deep blue. They proclaim the good news of the goddess and lead the Pure only taking orders from the Divine.

 

Pure-

The most basic rank in the cult. They are known to have progressively lightening appearances. Their hair will turn almost a snow white along with their skin and eyes.

 

Impure/Filth:

Those who are not pure yet or who do not wish to be purified. They have yet to be taken in or purged by the cult.
