Do'Tavahla

 

 

Do’Tavahla, translating roughly to Metztli’s defence is the Karakatuan warband located upon the island of Karakatua.  The Do’Tavahla are tasked with upholding law upon the island as well as naval patrol.  Members of the Do’Tavahla are Kharajyr warriors and hunters that wish to become part of a collective with means of defending their island paradise.  They act on completely religious values, to uphold the traditions of Metztli and her people.  The Do’Tavahla is under the highest command possible, Metztli’s chosen, the Tlatlanni.

Moonblades

 

 

The Moonblades serve as Admirals of the Karakatuan Navy and answer only to the Tlatlanni in terms of military decisions in addition to serving as the elite personal guard of the Tlatlanni. Each Moonblade has direct control over a fleet within the flotilla and can command that fleet without consulting the other Moonblades. However, all decisions regarding the flotilla as a whole must be made with a consensus decision of all the Moonblades and the Tlatlanni.

Moonblades carry the prefix title of Dra’.

 

Do’Tavahla

 

 

The Do’Tavahla are the fighting force of the Kharajyr empire. Usually made up of melee and ranged fighting specialists, these warriors are trained outside the usual hunting prowess given to them by nature and are focused on learning ways to combat their enemies. The Do’Tavahla are allowed to wear armour and carry weapons within the city, as well as the Moonblades. Depending on ships available each Do’Tavahla may be given command over a specific vessel within the fleet.

Do’Tavahla carry the prefix title of Do’.

 

Rowers

 

 

The rowers serve as reserve personnel within the fleet. In times of war it is the duty of every Kharajyr to defend the island and thus every able bodied Kha not in the Navy can be called to serve aboard one of the vessels of the flotilla. In times of peace, training sessions can be held which rowers will be required to attend to prepare them for war should the event occur.

Rowers do not carry a prefix title as they use the title of their main profession.

 

The Flotilla:

 

The Flotilla consists of three fleets: the defense fleet, the patrol fleet, and the civilian fleet.

 

Defense Fleet

 

The Defense Fleet is tasked with the protection of the island. The fleet consists of the flotilla’s heaviest and most battle ready ships. Within the flotilla the Defense Fleet uses the rams affixed the bows of the flotilla’s heaviest ships or ballistae on the deck.

Patrol Fleet

 

The Patrol Fleet is tasked with the offensive actions of the flotilla. The fleet consists of smaller more agile vessels to launch raids and quick attacks on enemies. Within the flotilla the Patrol Fleet acts as a skirmisher fleet harassing enemy ships while the Defense Fleet deals damage with the heavy ships of the flotilla.

Civilian Fleet

 

The Civilian Fleet is tasked with the quick transportation of troops and supplies as well as all domestic naval actions such as fishing and shipping. The fleet consists of fishing vessels as well as the Empire’s large amount of slave ships. Within the flotilla the Civilian Fleet serves a support role whether it be rescuing drowning personnel, repairing ships, or transporting large amounts of troops to destinations.
