If someone such as staff or anyone else can read my application that would be great and the just re post what you guys think i did wrong. Free The Hobbits 859 Share Posted August 9, 2013 It says it right there in your application, you did not follow the correct format for the application which can be found right here http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/80614-official-application-format-application-rules/ if you scroll down you'll find the application in a spoiler labelled Elf. Your character is a bit powergamey and I suggest you remove the part about gods, dieing, and the magic weapons. Anawkin 247 Share Posted August 9, 2013 You were deined as you didnt use the proper application format found under the app section (( hopefully someone can link it for me on ma phone!)) Also your character is viewed as quite power-gamey, with the weapons aswell the some other added things, try to tone this down a bit and im sure you'll do great in your next app! Best of luck to ya! Mining 129 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Alright, heres my advice after reading your latest application (note that im not App team or anything). Straight off the batt, I noticed he is an assassin. One of the rules for the Application is that your character can not perform any villainous activities in your app. Being an assasin, and latter threatening a merchant into a freebie via sword would be considered villainous. Its ok if you want to be an assassin and thief kinda guy once your accepted, but for the app its against the rules. Because remember, the character you make on the application does NOT have to be the character you rp as in game. In fact, most of the time it isn't. So thats the first thing Next, I saw your definitions. They are a little vague for starters, and the power emoting one isn't quite right. Your definition was " Killing someone using action before the other player can type or say something back". The second part is right, first part not so much. Power emoting isn't just killing, in fact in most cases it ISN'T killing. Power emoting is basically forcing someone else's actions through your emotes, without giving them a chance to react. An example in its most basic form would be this - "Jonathan Elers walks up to Jacob Falcon and punches him in the face, breaking his nose" if I wanted to punch you in the face, it would need to look more like this "Jonathan Elers walks up to Jacon Falcon and launches a punch, hoping to hit him in the face" notice the word HOPING. This gives you the chance to react. You can either choose to let the punch hit you, or not. Next, lets look at your biography. Its pretty vague. Include specifics and major events in his life. Why didn't people like him? How did he end up an assassin (although he shouldn't even be an assassin as per the app rules). How did he meet Ashely. These are all some pretty important things about his character that I think you have really just breezed over. And then theres the Aegis business. Now ill admit, I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to Aegis since it was before my time and the wiki only says so much. But what im fairly sure on, is that it has no place in an application. Familiarise yourself with the lore, because Aegis was 2 worlds ago and was over run by the undead. Im fairly sure there isn't away back so your character setting off for Aegis isn't quite right. Now on to your short responses. Wow. The first one is pretty power gammy, as well as villainous and unlikely. Killing a bunch of Elders for picking on a kid. Its great that you want to stand up for the kid, but killing them is way to far and unrealistic. At the absolute most there could MAYBE be a fist fight. And something you need to realise. ITS OK TO LOOSE A FIGHT. Taking on four people and coming out victorious seems pretty power gammy. It wouldn't of been as bad if you had been more specific as to your training in your biography, but it was breezed over. And once your on the server, loosing a fight will often gain you more respect than winning one. Well thats about all I have to say. Sorry to say it mate, but I think this one might be declined. But, don't give up! Read the server lore, browse around the wiki and improve your application. Remember these few things - Its ok to loose a fight - You don't have to play as the character you apply as - Read the server lore - Keep trying! Its ok to lose, you against 4 elders without a barely a scratch is very power-gamingish, and also your character is very young for a elf, if I did read the age correct..? I promise you'll get it eventually @_@ It took me 4 apps, 6 actually because the one after the 3rd or 2nd I forget, but I had a perfect application, and damn yes it was good as my one that got accepted. So I made my first 2 apps in Asulon didn't get on until Anthos middle summer, so ya I'm fairly new, but I have lots of friends and haters, cause without haters, how u gonna live? Anyway so I tell you I'm that kinda guy who quits easily, but frieken do 1 more with these suggestions, then I'll open ye with open arms to Anthos you got it, TANK ITT!!!!! And i hope that everyone and anyone will post there not so success posts that everyone can hopefully learn about the mistakes that are made and the steps to fixing them. However, there is a small part of me that (and i mean like a 0.00000000000000009%) that feels like this will be the only thing that my apps do :(. Using your advice at the end of the battle all 4 elf elders will come back and stab me in the back, all at once, and i will fall down and be knocked out for a WHILE. Second, i will... erase (I'm a bit sad that even though its part of my character that's LONG gone, i cant include it :(), and elaborate more on why people hated me and how i more or less "desalinated" animals versus humans for a source of food. Third: I shall be including (For those of you who wanted to hear this) a love scene in my bio. Don't worry, it wont have THAT many details (Or maybe it will? You'll have to read it to find out! Lol'z I'm just kidding). I will take note on my definitions and modify them. And i will probably set my character more in the Anthos region (If you created a region where Ageis was the name of a BEAUTIFUL city, you would probably be a little confused too...) and I would like to ask. Is it okay to post "Fake apps" just to get feedback? I mean i DON'T want to break the rules, and i don't remember seeing that as being against the rules in the app rules. Please anyone who knows post a reply to this topic, and ill see you guys tomorrow at 12:00 with my 4 app for the month. Untill then peace guys! I wouldn't suggest posting a fake app. You could make a rough draft, send it to someone, have them go over it, make corrections, and then post it, but the Application Submissions page is for legit app submissions. "People" in general tend not to hate a specific person. I would perhaps rephrase that in your bio, saying "the people of your home village" hate you. Love scenes are a bit touchy on this server. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but I just want you to understand that too much detail has gotten people banned, so... Just don't have anything sexual. The Anthos region is the ONLY region. Its the continent the server is set in. Aegis was the first continent and was destroyed by Iblees. Look on the wiki for lore! Hey, don't worry about the application process.
