Samoblivion 532 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Event Team Q&A #2 It's been a while since Kitten's very successful Q&A thread and I thought we should have another one to both answer player questions about the ET and get a little general feedback on how we're doing and what you'd all like to see in the future. Fire away ^.^ P.S. Could a GM/FM/Admin please move this thread to the Your View subforum?

Stag 3231 Share Posted August 13, 2013 How often do you check ET apps? Biweekly was what we set-up but it is flexible. Sometimes we will pull in a couple in a couple weeks or a couple within a month. I believe we are due to check on some apps here soon seeing as it has been awhile since the last was accepted. Edit: It is a supply and demand type of deal. We need actors. We accept actors. We need builders. We accept them.
Aptrotta 162 Share Posted August 13, 2013 When one is accepted for ET, does it become easier for them to get accepted as the opposite part of the team? If one is accepted as an actor is it easier to become accepted as a builder the next time around?
Stag 3231 Share Posted August 13, 2013 When one is accepted for ET, does it become easier for them to get accepted as the opposite part of the team? If one is accepted as an actor is it easier to become accepted as a builder the next time around? It really depends but from what I have seen it is easy to go from builder to actor. It is not so easy to go from actor to builder because let's face it you gotta have actual building chops which is harder to find in comparison to an actor. How far ahead do events have to Be planned? Mini-events are spontaneous. We have a secret secret system for bigger events. Not really though. We propose events to the team and we see who is interested in doing it. It is very collabrative. I believe Viper is using a system for player proposed events where the team votes on it and then he assigns volunteers to plan out the events that were accepted. So there is a huge range but what you will notice is most of the events done are mini-events done on the fly. Ie... Monster events, singular road encounters. Aptrotta 162 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Can one still be accepted if he does not like to do big big big builds but smaller size builds with a story?
Stag 3231 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Can one still be accepted if he does not like to do big big big builds but smaller size builds with a story? It depends on if the builder can fill out those small builds. A small build does not mean an undetailed build but really it depends on what is seen in the app. However in terms of work you are have a much better chance of being able to get things done if you can do bigger things and not have to be guided through the building process. A builder can build big usually can build small. It isn't always the same going the other way. Rectangles and Squares.
Aptrotta 162 Share Posted August 13, 2013 I can build big, but I love smaller builds since they are hidden and people really have To look for the surprise. Big builds for me is like "it's there, whats special about it?"
Mish_ 101 Share Posted August 14, 2013 Is there a demand for any ET position?
Samoblivion 532 Author Share Posted August 14, 2013 Is there a demand for any ET position? Well, we're always looking for good builders. The more builders we have the faster we can get large event locations done. This was in part the reason why the Antagonist too so long to be released - their area is so huge and so detailed that it took months to finish it with only 4 builders dedicated to it at the time. We of course welcome actor apps as well - it's always good to have a surplus of good recruits to pick from - but, statistically, we accept more builder apps than actor apps. 5678 260 Share Posted August 14, 2013 As an ET member, do you need lore for the creatures you RP as?
Samoblivion 532 Author Share Posted August 14, 2013 As an ET member, do you need lore for the creatures you RP as? It depends. For the most part yes. We had to wait for LT approval to RP as harpies, cockatrices etc. Generic creatures such as ghosts and wolves are fine. The Lore Team and the Event Team work a lot more closely than we did in the past. We generally consider LMs as honourary ET's and they create events as much as we do - the benefit for us is that because they're writing the creatures in these events they're automatically lore approved and as a result we can play them in the future ^.^ To come back to the focus of the question, it's mainly common sense related but we do need lore approval for the majority of what we do. ^Corrected by the wonderful Brandnewkitten below. Actually we don't. As long as it is for an event and there are no clear lore breaks you can go ahead and RP whatever you want for an event. This was made clear to us when Lago posted the new lore regulations. Here is a direct quote:
