The Lord Justiciar

He wrapped two fingers around the bowstring, pulling it back, taut with tension, an arrow knocked and ready to fire. In his other hand, he held the polished, knotted oakwood bow, pointed perfectly perpendicular to the ground, a graceful display of archery form. From even a distant, fleeting glance, it was obvious this man knew his way around a bow. There was a rustle in the bush ahead of him, simply confirming his suspicions about his target. He took in a deep breath, and let go, the bowstring lurching forward with a twang, humming next to his ear. The arrow flew through the air, a faint whistle heard as it zipped to the bush, landing with the familiar sound of flesh being punctured by cold, cold steel. The man let out only a grunt of satisfaction as he unstrung the bow, sliding it back into its leather casing on his back. He broke into a light jog, going to check what and where he hit. He pushed aside the brush with a gloved hand, peering at a large rabbit, his arrow piercing its throat. Blood pooled down around it. He grabbed the arrow, and forcefully tugged it out of the small corpse, picking it up by the ears and holding it like a sack. He trudged back over to his horse, tied up to a nearby tree, the rest of the day's catches slung over its back. He had taken a good lot, and it would be enough for the afternoon. He kicked a boot into the stirrup of the horse, and pulled himself on, one leg at a time.

Grasping the reins, he gave them a light flick, setting his steed off on a gentle trot back to the hunting lodge where his pious lord Otto Sarkozic Carrion sat, celebrating with the rest of the Ruskan nobles due to their recent victory over Oren. Gavin Wold was many things, but most prominent of them was being a hunter by nature. Prince Otto admired his perseverance and sometimes ruthlessness when it came to getting a job done, and so he had brought him in as the Lord Justiciar. Those who made enemies of the Holy Kingdom would regret it, for Wold is always watching.
