Basic Understandings:

Conjuration; the rarest Arcane Science known. Those practicing the art are labelled that of “Conjurers”, individuals whom through accessing the void of their mind are able to construct living organisms which are fueled purely by the mana of their creator. Transposed from the depths of the void, a Conjurer is able to summon great beasts or beautiful flora into the mortal planes. Yet what beauty is summoned from a Conjurers mind, a far grimmer consequence is that every second that passes in which the creation exists, the Conjurer’s mana is depleted at a far greater pace than it would for any other Arcane science. Though a Conjuration user constructs physical beings, in order to maintain their existence within the physical realm the conjurer must direct a great sum of mana flow to them. Due to the complexity of the organisms, the process is ultimately wearisome and in some cases could drain the mana of the user to the point of unconsciousness - to which the beast will dissipate to the void whence it came unless the Conjurer chooses to halt the flow of mana beforehand, in which case the beast would dissipate to no consequence. If, for instance the user is distracted or has severe pain inflicted upon them then the likelihood that their focus on the void would likely be broken and therefore the entity will return to the realm upon which it was forged.

In order for a Conjurer to construct an organism within the void, one must first have an adept understanding of both the interior and exterior of the living entity they wish to create. This could be achieved by regularly hunting and dissecting members of this species. Some Conjurers may prefer to keep detailed sketches of the interior, exterior and skeletal structure of the entity in order to get an acute understanding of it. This extensive research is required with factors such as organ and skeletal size requiring acknowledgement and perfected in order for a Conjurer to successfully summon the living entity.

Within the void, the fabrics that make up the entity are summoned. Bone by bone, layer by layer and organ by organ the Conjurer crafts and sculpts their being into an exact replica of their pre-existing self. As a result of lack of research, a Conjurer may fall at this hurdle, constructing a being unlike that of its mortal plane brethren would result in an unstable and flawed entity which would likely turn to slush once conjured. If successful the creation would be summoned as an exact replica of the species it has been moulded to be. Whilst it would behave similar to the life form it represents ultimately its creators commands will be followed. Be it combat or assistance, the creation will live to fulfill its purpose unless it is slaughtered or returned to the void by its creator.

There are three subsections to Conjuration;

  • Primordial Conjuration [Conjuration of elementals. This requires a strong understanding of a particular element and thus only a mage which is both a conjurer and evocationist can summon a Primordial].

  • Morphon Conjuration [Conjuration of animals.]

  • Perennial Conjuration[Conjuration of plants, often mistaken for druidism].

Those new to the subtype tend to practice one subsection over another yet as they excel at one, they may choose to begin to learn another. Each are equally as rewarding and troubling as the other.

Roleplaying Guidelines:

Different conjurers have different methods of conjuring. Some may conjure a dim light and construct their creation real-time in the eyes of others whereas others may conjure their entity in its already completely constructed form.

Before a Conjurer contemplates putting a spell into practice they must firstly have an adept understanding of the biology of the living entity they wish to conjure. One must spend roughly 2 weeks researching, dissecting, drawing and repeating before they are considered to have adequate knowledge of the organism. The more research, the prestiner the results. Below is an example of a tier 2-3 Conjuration user.

Joe falls to his buttocks, placing both hands out in front of him and instinctively begins to analyse the distance between them.

He turns them, allowing them to face one another, shoulder width apart.

Joe gently shuts his eyes, maintaining the utmost focus as he begins to delve within the void of his mind.

Acknowledges the empty canvas and so begins to paint upon it. He begins with a stem, sturdy enough to support itself with enough depth of colour to be appealing to his lover.

He then assembles the petals, giving enough space between each of them as he had noted those that sprouted in the Druidic residence had.

Finally, acknowledging its size and weight, Joe begins to form several long roots; each thick and sturdy in order to support such an entity.

Within his outstretched hands, the entity begins to form, piece by piece.

As several moments pass, a beautiful rose is conjured within his hands.

Joe immediately slumps back into the chair, fighting his apparent loss of breath.

Example of a tier 4-5 Conjuration user.

Goliath Orman clicks his tongue, using the following seconds to calm himself, consequently relaxing both his breathing and muscles.

Goliath Orman pauses for several seconds, unmoving as he delves within the void of his mind, causing an assembly to take place. Piece by piece, bone by bone a minion is constructed.

Suddenly, several feet in front of where Goliah sits, a dim, crimson light appears.

It hums vibrantly, thickening as a membrane forms around i.

The crimson light is almost visible within the thickening membrane, pounding with the same rhythm of a heart.

Gradually, the membrane increases in size, for now a large orb-like structure stirs a few paces in front of him.

Three more dim lights appear within the membrane, they sit still, unmoving like the other.

As the creation continues to form, two identical legs rip from the inners of the creation in unison.

Shortly after, two wings rip from the inners of the creation also, both unfeathered and pale.

A matter of seconds pass before a beaked head raises, thrashing to and fro.

The embryonic structure falls firmly against the planked floor.

Gradually, feathers begin to spear outwards from within the creation, crimson in shade.

A few final moments pass, before the fully conjured crimson hawk opens the two of its eyes.

A recommended progression:

Tier 1: Time spent researching the void, regularly attempting to maintain contact with it and increasing the time spent accessing it. Also researching the art form itself and the putting some of the simplistic aspects into practice such as dissecting plants or small animals.

Tier 2: Time spent researching and analysing the habitat in which the chosen living entity resides within. Various drawings and notes made of the entity as well as time spent dissecting and practicing conjuring it. Entities such as plants and small animals (such as a cat sized entity) would be advised as any larger would likely fatigue the conjurer to the point of unconsciousness or even death.

Tier 3: Time spent researching and analysing the habitat in which the chosen living entity resides within. Various drawings and notes made of the entity as well as time spent dissecting and practicing conjuring it. Entities that are roughly the size of a wolf would be advised as any larger would likely fatigue the conjurer to the point of unconsciousness or even death.

Tier 4: A tier 4 user would feel confident in conjuring larger entities (such as a small bear) and would find it less taxing conjuring smaller ones. Conjurer may choose to combine elements of two animals if adequate research is put into place before hand. (One may wish to contact a magic team user before attempting to conjure a combination of organisms to ensure it is not overpowered or physically taxing on the conjurer.)

Tier 5: A tier 5 user would find it far less taxing than other tiers would in conjuring larger organisms, such as bears or horses. Whilst they will be fatigued by conjuring a handful of entities within close proximity of one another, the recovery time would be substantially shorter than that of the other tiers.

Red lines:

  • Dragons, Drakes and other beasts of that size cannot be conjured.
  • A tier 2-3 conjurer would likely be able to conjure a maximum of 0-1 creations per IC day (or until they become less fatigued, in the case of long RP fights).
  • A tier 4-5 conjurer would likely be able to conjure a maximum of 2-3 creations per IC day (or until they become less fatigued, in the case of long RP fights).

How does primordialism work? Does it summon a being solely made of that element? Or does it replace one thing of the beast?

Would I need to learn all 3 types seperatly? Will I need a tome or teacher for morphinism and perennialism or can I use it if I dissect enough plants if I'm a morphon already?

Primordialism would be a beast solely composed of the evoked element(s).

And no, if you have an MA for conjuration, you may do morphonism and perennialism, you merely must research any and all plants and animals you intend to create, and you must be a skilled evocation user as well to learn primordialism. However, one is capable of all three with just one subtype (although primordialism again must have an evocation skill paired with it).

Sorry, I don't want to do this and find out its conflicting, but can a Conjurer summon one of the races (as long as he studies the race enough, etc.)?

One last thing, how long does it take to learn Conjuration?

That is to say, Master Conjuration?

Same as any other magic. However, the process is more grueling, knowing that one would have to kill, dissect and study the animal they desire to summon in the near future.
