A Message To The King

Grand King Dizzy Irongrinder, this is a list of notices that I hope you are already aware of and working to fix.

1.The Grand Kingdom of Urguan has no Grand Merchant. Since the death of the Grand and Wise Dwarf Thorik Grandaxe, the Kingdom has been without an official Grand Merchant.

2. Since the Dwarf Bael Tunnelsmasher was removed, the position of Yemekar's Pick has been absent. With our miners just having struck a large vein of ores, a new Yemekar's pick is essential to the kingdom.

3.While this also applies to Grand Marshal Zahrer Irongrinder, it will be addressed to you. The Legion of the Grand Kingdom has fallen into complete shambles. This fall cannot be blamed upon a time of peace either, as the northern menace has been striking frequently, as have the orcs. With this recent secession of the Kingdom of Salvus, a stronger legion is necessary.

4. The city is empty. Even with this new vein, the city is almost always empty. There are no festivals, no tournaments, no pilgrimages. Nothing to draw our brethren back. Abresi has claimed a large part of our brothers with their constant happenings!

5.Civil Unrest. The populace is shifty and uneasy, you are named a delver king. While I am in the mind that you are no delver king, for you have done nothing to prove you are one. You have also done nothing to prove you are not one.

*Dizzy reads the note nodding to himself, he sends for some men to gather the dwarves in a crowd.*

 

"I know that some of you may be in question of my ability to rule, but the time will come when I shall either prove myself..... or fail the throne. Dreek has done a great service both to me and to the people to bring forth the questions and concerns of the people rather then slander without reason behind it. I will answer all that has to be said.

 

The position of Grand Merchant will be put to the traditional vote, I soon we shall have our nominations and from their all shall have their say.

 

The position of Yemekars pick shall be filled soon, discussion shall be made with the lords council on the matter

 

The legion is in disarray as our people are leaving us or dieing off. We have many steadfast and loyal dwarves in the legion, though our numbers are thinning. New organization within the legion shall occur soon, the lords and myself shall be working with the grand marshal and the two whom he appoints as commanders. I am glad to say that one of our military commanders and a close friend Igor has returned from pilgrimage and will no doubt give his input into the matter.

 

The city remains empty I know this. With war knocking at our door I have had little time to organize such events, regardless these such events shall occur and soon. Any dwarf willing to organize and participate in any festivitys need only contact a lord or myself to set things in motion. 

 

Those who named me the delver king only used it as political propaganda, now it has snowballed into something larger. It is publicly known that I left the group many, many years ago. As for the supposed banishment of a few dwarves, I do not know how that knowledge came across, I have yet to banish a single dwarf from the kingdom.

The reason why the Grand Kingdom is failing is because no one has the will or the drive to grab the issue by the throat and fix it. Instead you sit comfortably in your halls and laugh off anyone who tries even briefly to solve the issue.

 

How much longer can you call yourselves the Grand Kingdom when the government does nothing, the cities lie empty and the people leave for success in other lands?

Bael understands that some lords get stuff done, but also knows that some lords haven't even been online in weeks or are inactive or play alternative characters. Bael strongly suggests that all dwarves, especially those in high up positions should only play one character and if they intend on going inactive or go inactive they should either remove themselves or be removed as a lazy government leads to lazy people.
