xenenxnennxnx 99 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I have no idea on how to install mods to the new minecraft launcher! I was wondering if anyone could teach me how. Thanks!
mmat 7460 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I got a clean install of the new Minecraft and installed the latest version of Forge installer. Then you need to create a profile running off of this forge installed jar and place the mods like Optifine and MPM into the mods folder, you can use the new MC launcher or the Magic Launcher, both work. The Cleaning Crew 571 Share Posted September 13, 2013 *Is considering making a basic mod installation tutorial vid for media team* Might be a good idea. All of the ones on youtube seem like they could be a little complicated for people who don't know what they're doing. Edit: PM me and we can figure this out over skype or teamspeak if you want more help. I found this video here. It shows you how to install Forge Modloader and Optifine together, which is usually a good idea. Optifine will get rid of most of that choppiness you get when you're logged into a multiplayer server. Forge downloads: http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php?action=files Once you get forge downloaded and installed, a "mods" folder should appear in your .minecraft folder the next time you launch minecraft. Just put the .zip (7zip file) or .rar (WINrar) files you get when you download mods into it. Forge makes them all work together with minimal problems. I'll add more to this a little later if it's needed. I gotta get off the computer for now.
