The Barbarian Leader's Death

The gruesome sight of a massacre. Women and children, men of old, warriors, lay spread out on the streets in corpses. The ground turning into a river of blood as dwarfs rampage through the village, burning the houses and huts to the ground. Remaining barbarians fled or fought to the death. Lacedaemon, the final Aytos warrior from the battle, on his knees covered in blood and gore, looks up at Zahrer and Igor. His pride was all but forgotten as he spit towards their feet in defiance. Nay would they take it though as Igor steps forward, kicking Lacedaemon down the well to his death. At the bottom, like many others who were ravaged by the mighty dwarven onslaught, his corpse floats to the surface. An image of the first barbarian leader who found death through a glorious battle with his people.

Vettias returns from a hunt, seeing smoke trails on the horizon. He watches from afar as the bodies of his brethren are put to the sword and thrown into the well.

 

He shouts, "The Aytos will have their revenge!"

 

None are around to hear him but the grass and the sky, but he swears it to himself nonetheless.
