Can somebody explain where halfling names come from? What they basically sound like? Maybe I could get a few examples?

I'm going to make a new character today, and be the newest resident of Lenfarthing.

(I recommend using this guide and looking at some of the links in here. Very useful imo and will get you familiar with some stuff http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/98413-making-a-halfling-guide/ if you have questions do not hesitate to pm and I probably will get back to you ASAP)

Halfling first names tend to be either typical American/British names or really odd sounding Hobbit names usually chosen from one of the many Hobbit name generators. Some good example would be stuff like Oscar, Bertie, or Walter. Or, if you're using the name generator something like: Bodo, Dimple, or something slightly sillier like Hamson.

Last names are a lot funner, as you can just combine two things that sound vaguely like something you would find in the countryside and you got yourself a last name. Of course you could always just use the generator. You could also try to tailor the name into what your character is interested in, like if your character smokes a lot his last name could be "Pigpipe" or "Pipetrotter", of course it's all up to you.

So some full Halfling names could be:

Bertie Pigpipe

Goldie Shroomdigger

Rosie Wooster

Samson Merryturf

I'm started to overlook the proper names of Halflings. Most people end up in the situation I was in, being that you have no idea the hell you're doing so you just pick a random name, like Richard.

I never had much problem with the first name, but if ou want it proper best do something that ends weith "E" or "O" such as Bolo, Bilbo, Posco, Billy, Rosie, Fullie, etc.etc.

Last names are easier, although I'd never dive into them. Just pick two things/places/etc. that mean to your character. GoldPipe, ProudShovel, etc.
