Kitten 367 Share Posted October 27, 2013 A dark elf named Ethir had grown up around animals, always noting, at age 20 she got her hands on her first horse, and after a few more years managed to procure another. This started her breeding business. At first the stable was small, only meant for two horses, producing a foal once every year, which she would tame. The first few she had to sell for they were too hard to tame, however eventually she watched another trainer, and talked to him, getting tips on how to train her colts and fillies. After observing for about a year she went back and produced her first well tamed colt. This was named Cloudy. After living with the Shad’rin, Ethir bred their horses for a few years, managing to obtain 3 horses, which slowly set up her business, she continued to breed horses for the Shad’rin and then even the dwarves. Finally she bought a huge stock of horses from a man near the wilds. Through selective breeding of a few war horses, and some dainty mares she produced a horse with a stocky body, long legs, and small hooves, its head was larger than normal and it had wide eyes, but delicate ears. After a small bit of training Ethir realized she had hit a special species, willing to train and capable of maneuvers most horses couldn't do. Such as jumping off of of the ground with only a tap, or pivoting on the spot and rearing. Realizing the capabilities of this horse astonished her, however she knew the capabilities of these horses in battle. Ethir managed to produce a few others from the stock, before selling off the not needed horses, and concentrating only on these. Their health ranged, as did their speed however their maneuverability remained the same. Her first bred horse she named Mandarb, as he was a beautiful black horse, sturdy and alert. Ethir finally realizing the likelihood of these horses being stolen decided to take the special lot she had bred and walked away with it, taking them off deep into the dwarf lands where she continued to breed them, finally managing to get 7 horses. Each one had their own color, however the only ones she kept did not have patches, or large spots on them. Each had its own temperament, however she made sure each was trained. Ethir considered moving back, however she decided on one thing. Any horse she was to sell would only be a gelding, not wanting people to end up selling this amazing stock for anything but riding horses, the most potent breeders she noted she would keep for creating more horses every breeding season. Each horse she made sure was friendly towards children and desensitized. Though this was the most dangerous part. However after a long time, Ethir finally had about 6 foals ready for sale, those that she would sell where only males, that she could neuter, so they became geldings. For she did not want her horses to be spread around.
