  1. Issued and averred by the office of the IMPERIAL CROWN Penned by Valentiná of Asturias Relics of Man | Hadrianic Era 631 A.A - 647 A.A The Hadrianic Era is one of the most defining time periods of the Holy Empire of Man. Named for Emperor Hadrian I, many people still remember the Conquest of Azuras and the establishment of the Empire of Azuras under his firm leadership. Hadrian I was born as Hadrian Tiberias, the eldest son and heir of Tiberias I and Circe of Myrine, who were, at the time, the King and Queen of Burgundy. Throughout his life, the Emperor was plagued by ill health made manifest during his early childhood. His illness, however, did not cull his sharp intellect, or his eager willingness to enforce Imperial Justice, in the slightest. Throughout his younger years, Emperor Hadrian served as Prince Justicar. During this time, he grew into a proper statesman, spending most of his time hunched over mountains of paperwork. After Emperor Tiberias abdicated his throne to his son, Hadrian and his wife were crowned in a grand ceremony. Whilst his enemies may view his sixteen year long reign as an era of fear and tyranny, Hadrian’s numerous achievements and the Imperium's prosperity are undeniable. Most notably among them, he is credited with the Conquest of Azuras, a military campaign that would see all nations of the continent either within the fold of the Imperial Mantle, or entirely destroyed. The Horenic Relics most relevant to his reign are categorized and listed. The Relics most relevant to Emperor Marcus I’s reign shall be detailed in a separate list. Coronation Garments of Hadrian I –☩– Hadrian’s Coronation Garments were deliberately crafted to remind the people of Tiberias I’s own garments and of his reign. Embroidered robes of tiberian purple were the base of his attire. The gilded belt Hadrian wore was the same Emperor Tiberias had worn on the day of his crowning. Hadrian’s shoulders were draped in fur. A black mantle framed his body. He wore two necklaces over his shoulders, with the top one being simple chain links joined together and the lower one being one that bore stones of amethyst and a medallion at its center. Those stones matched the ones in Hadrian’s crown. Wedding Garments of Hadrian I –☩– The Emperor’s wedding garments were fashioned as the male counterpart to the robes Empress Elizabeth wore on the occasion. An ermine cloak of soft yellow and gilded embroidery covered Hadrian’s back. The coat underneath was short, in a similar shade to the bride’s gown. It bore many small buttons at its center and reached down to the middle of his upper thigh. Beneath, he wore a tunic, mirroring the making of the bride's veil. His shoulders were lined with a necklace that matched that of his bride. Upon his brow rested a circlet with engravings depicting the Sigil of House Horen evenly spaced throughout. Wedding Garments of Elizabeth of Balamena –☩– Empress Elizabeth’s wedding garments were a perfect mirror to its male counterpart. A soft yellow ermine cloak lined with weasel fur engulfed a gown similar in shade. The cloak was richly embroidered at its back, in designs that matched that of Hadrian’s cloak. The front of the garment was lined at the waist with black opals and rubies. Elizabeth’s shoulders were decorated with a wide necklace that displayed rubies and burgundy opals. Three blue pearls hung from its center. An altered version of the diadem Elizabeth wore on her wedding day later became her imperial state tiara. Elizabeth’s Princely Tiara –☩– Before becoming Empress and favoring her state tiara, Elizabeth of Balamena was often seen in this more simple variant of a princely diadem. Rectangular cut gemstones, similar in size, though differing in hue and color, were placed upon a band of gold. The gemstones were held in place by filigree. The golden band was engraved with the markings of House Horen; Renatian crosses, Dragons, and Flexio Lettering. Triangular points faced upwards from the circlet, each of them grown from the filigree holding the gemstones into place. Diadem of Lillies –☩– Said to have belonged to Rosceline of Drusco, Empress Elizabeth inherited her famous Diadem of Lillies. It was a masterwork of craftsmanship, bearing twelve hexagonal rosettes laid at its base of gold. Each Rosette had been inlaid with a flower set against an alternation of blue and red glass. The flower was centered with a hexagonal cut sapphire. From each of those rosettes rises a golden stem, each differing in size and in height. The stems were crowned by a fleur-de-lys lily that adorned sapphires, emeralds and golden filigree. Between each of those tips sat pearls in clusters of fours that surrounded a diamond. Badge of the Imperator –☩– The brooch, originally belonging to Empress Elizabeth of Balamena, takes the form of a blade wrought of pure gold. It was pointed towards the heavens and found itself surrounded by a holy flame and smoke, meticulously represented by an assortment of all kinds of gemstones At the center of the finely crafted sword’s hilt sat a square-cut ruby, gleaming in the light. It is said that Empress Elizabeth received this brooch as a gift to her and Emperor Hadrian’s coronation. The Balamena Dragoness Brooch –☩– A brooch made of pure gold had been crafted to resemble a dragon mid-roar. From its jaws unfurled a tongue of flame, wrought in golden filigree, upon which small rubies were embedded in irregular spacing. Its eyes were made of small amethysts that appear to stare into one's soul. This, too, had been a gift to Elizabeth and Hadrian upon the day of their coronation. Veridian Necklace –☩– The Veridian Necklace was crafted from pale gold and centered around a large green emerald, marked by its countless fractures beneath its polished surface. Gilded filigree and smaller, less dazzling stones at the sides kept the crowning piece in its place. The chain of the necklace itself was finely crafted, designed to draw immediate attention to the stone at its center. Prince Titus Circlet –☩– Prince Titus’ most important piece of regalia was a simple golden circlet, around two fingers tall. It appeared unassuming at the first glance, with the center piece being a large burgundy opal. This opal revealed a most delicate engraving of the sigil of House Horen when the light caught it at the right angle. Prince Titus Cross –☩– This flanged cross, worn by Prince Titus Alexander before he became a squire, had later been made a gift to his wife, Vivienne of Trier. A square emerald inlaid the intersection of the golden Lorraine. Upon its spine was a simple engraving, reading ‘Victoria et Gloria’. Bug Bracelet –☩– A wrought bracelet of fine silver carried a series of rounded medallions that bore a framing ring of silver around their edges. Each medallion was linked together at the side by connecting rings. The circles within bore various different insects upon their surfaces, with some showing spiders, and others depicting moths and beetles. This piece was from Princess Livia Caesonia’s collection. Titan’s Eye Necklace –☩– The pendant fashioned in the form of a perfect circle was suspended from a simple necklace. Its surface was divided by a wide S-shaped curve that held multiple tear-drop shaped gemstones within. On either side of the curve were panels of luminous pearls that shone and reflected in the light, no matter how one turned it. Veilshard Necklace –☩– This fine gold chain held a jagged piece of a violet amethyst, suspended in threads of gold that wrapped around it. The shard appeared as though it were floating in its swirled cage. This imperfect stone-shard was made special by its gleaming surface that might remind viewers of a lightning strike upon a frozen lake. Gilded Bracelet of Trier –☩– A small golden chain held a flat, circular disk at its center. It appeared simple, unassuming, even, with the only sort of decoration upon it being a circle that had been engraved upon the rounded disk. It is said, though not confirmed, that this bracelet had something special about it. Pelagic Pearls –☩– This pair of earrings had been gifted to Princess Vivienne of Trier by her own mother. These earrings dangled a chain of gold that strung multiple lilac hued pearls together. They were neatly arranged from the smallest to the largest, though there seemed to be enough space for them to dangle freely. AVE IMPERIUM! 2. Days had passed since the news arrived in the halls of the Imperial Palace. Valentiná hovered before the doors of the Crown Prince's Suite - the one she had occupied herself, not even a decade ago. Muted sobs emanated from within; gut-wrenching, heartbroken sounds of despair she was no stranger to. Hesitation settled upon the Empresses heart, tearing it in two. The last time Valentiná had spoken to Caius was years past; an encounter that had left them seemingly permanently divided. So did her hand hover over the mahogany door as her brows drew together. ... No, Val, you are the last person he would wish to speak to now. ... And so did she slowly tear herself from the doorframe to slowly ascend those stairs up to her own chambers, into which she disappeared silently. A candle was lit, that night, and the following nights, for an Empress that could have been.
  3. Issued and averred by the office of the IMPERIAL CROWN Penned by Valentiná of Asturias Burgundine Relics | Tiberian Era 596 A.A - 631 A.A 35 The Tiberian Era, also referred to as the Burgundine Era, was a time of warfare and restoration. Emperor Tiberias, born Tiberias Georg van Aert was but a boy cast out from the warm embrace of humanity at the time of his birth. The fall of his Father’s Domain, the League of Veletz, led to the entirety of House van Aert being presecuted and hunted due to the nature of their birth. They were excommunicated and left to die. For a while, it was believed that Tiberias was the last remaining van Aert. Throughout most of his life, Tiberias waited for his chance to enact revenge upon those who had harmed his parents, siblings and cousins. He made tactical alliances and befriended the right people, leading him to be in the perfect position when the War of Crown and Crozier broke out. Tiberias became the King of Burgundy around that time, and upon the war’s conclusion, he was declared Holy Emperor of Man. Upon his ascension, Tiberias restored the House Horen and made it the ruling family of Humanity once more. This was the first Empire humanity would see since the fall of the Orenian Empire some odd 160 years earlier. Due to Tiberias’ tumultuous youth and the chaos during the infantile years of the Holy Empire of Man, few relics of this particular era survive. Those that did survive have been categorized as follows. The Burgundine Crown –☩– The Burgundine Crown was the first Crown Tiberias laid upon his brow. It was a broad and heavy thing, around a thumb in width and five fingers high at its base. The base rested uncomfortably against the wearer's forehead. It was engraved with many small symbolisms, dragons, renatian crosses and rubies. There were 8 larger rubies that acted as center pieces underneath each spike of the crown. The Consort’s Circlet –☩– The Burgundine Consort's circlet was a much more comfortable counterpart to the Burgundine Crown. It was still rather thick, but only around two fingers tall. Tha band was made of pure gold and there was no lining underneath, which could cause the occasional headache. Upon the band were countless oval-shaped rubies surrounded by a circle of pearls. Whilst undeniably beautiful, many Consorts have opted to ignore this remarkable piece for more comfortable alternatives. Coronation Garments of Tiberias I –☩– The Coronation Attire of Tiberias I was completed mere days before the event was supposed to take place. A robe of deep burgundy velvet formed the tunic of the Emperor. Around his waist, he fastened a golden belt from which he hung a ceremonial dagger. The purple cloak he wore on the day of his Coronation was lined with thick fur. Around his shoulders hung a golden chain with an amulet, and from his right hand dangled a Lorraine. Upon his brow rested a circlet crown set with rubies. It was lined with purple fabric that matched his cloak. Wedding Garments of Circe of Myrine –☩– The Wedding Gown of Empress Circe was one of gentle refinement. Iridescent silks fell down in long, uninterrupted lines from shoulder to hem. The sleeves were modest and loose, gently embroidered stars trailing from the sleeve to the upper arms. A band of blue embroidery trailed neckline and shoulders, which struck a gentle contrast to the ivory veil she wore on that day. Circe of Myrine’s Consort Tiara –☩– The late Empress Circe of Myrine wore this tiara in her day to day life, finding it to be a more comfortable fit than the Consort's Circlet, much like her eventual successors. The Myrinian Tiara allegedly came in two different versions, though only one survives today; the one beset with rubies. A broad ruby served as the centerpiece, mounted vertically within a framework of pure gold. Smaller rubies lined the band in symmetric intervals. The circlet itself was modest in height and lined with velvet in Tiberian Purple, for the wearer's comfort. Pearl and Pink Ruby Circlet –☩– The broad band of this golden Circlet was richly ornamented. One might need a moment to comprehend the complex pattern, only revealed upon further examination. The rich ornaments upon the band formed stars. Within those stars were three clusters of small pearls. Each cluster was separated by highly polished pink gemstones. The centerpiece of the stars was another vivid gemstone in a soft blue. Duchess of Helena Tiara –☩– This tiara was wrought from a rich gold, fashioned in the likeness of a three headed dragon with two wings spanning either side of ones temple. Its jagged wings curve inwards ever so slightly, depicting the spikes of a crown. From the bottom of the center dragon head hung one singular polished amethyst upon the wearer's forehead. Necklace of Conquest –☩– It is said that the Emperor Tiberias gifted this necklace to his youngest daughter, Joan, the Duchess of Helena. The chain itself was finely crafted Starsteel, which emitted a soft glow akin to starlight at all times. Set upon the glowing chain were numerous gemstones in various different colours, no two alike in kind. Each jewel had been cut and polished into an oval, representing each of the nations that fell during Tiberias' war of Conquest. AVE IMPERIUM! 6. Issued and averred by the office of the IMPERIAL CROWN ✠ HEED, LEAL SONS OF HOREN; The Tavern of Rittersburg is a place at the very center of Humanity. Here, people gather in revelry to celebrate Our victories, to mourn Our losses, or to simply share in drink, conversation and game at the end of a hard day’s work. Our late tavernkeep, Gennad, has shown Us how important a tavern is to everyday life in Rittersburg. His passing has left a large gap in Our hearts. The evenings have turned more silent and the buzz of the tavern has died down. With this loss now being many years passed, We, the Imperial Crown, have decided to take the tavern back into Our possession. It is Our solemn duty to ensure the wellbeing of Our People; that includes ensuring that their thirst and their need for casual entertainment is quenched in an appropriate manner. As such stands, it is my pleasure to invite all those whom are interested in taking on the mantle of the Head Tavernkeep of the Rittersburg Tavern to inform Us of their ambitions, and to meet with Us until the Saint Week’s end so that We may determine a path for the tavern going forward, and to ensure that it shall be full of life again shortly. With her unknown affliction gradually worsening over time, it appears that Her Imperial Majesty has fallen into a coma. She remains under the constant watch of the best physicians our Imperium has to offer. The Lady Physician Andromede Royce confirms that Her Majesty’s current condition appears stable, though there seems to be no sign of her awakening for the foreseeable future. The Imperial Family asks that the citizens and well-wishers of Our Holy Imperium include Her Imperial Majesty in their prayers, so that she might soon walk the streets of Rittersburg once more. Issued and averred by the office of the IMPERIAL CROWN Penned by Livia Caesonia ✠ HEED, LEAL SONS OF HOREN; In magnitude of solemnity is this missive delivered to peers of the realm, wrought of tidings both of joy and mourn from the Imperial Household. Her Imperial Highness, Livia Caesonia took to an abrupt delivery all naught but two hours proceeding the crowning of Marcus I and Valentiná of Asturias. Her Imperial Highness has safely delivered twins in the early hours of dawn, tended to by Her Imperial Excellency, Andromède dey Medford, who operated indefatigably. By the grace of Providence, a daughter survives– her bemoans steeled and her constitution promising. Yet this rapture of one is tempered by loss. The male child, though meticulously brought forth into Azuras, did not prevail his first breaths. We ask that the esteemed Lords and Ladies of the realm bow their heads in prayer as we proceed the rites befitting of his station. He has been commended to rest with the name Martinus Amadeus. May GOD cradle his hand as he takes to the Seven Skies. In the wake of her travail, Her Imperial Highness has taken to terrible ailment. The exertions of childbirth have left her debilitated, and she remains confined to her chambers amid constant care. Her Imperial Excellency attends to her without respite, though her recovery shall be neither swift nor certain. For now, she is bedridden, her strengths diminished, and her presence missed in the affairs of Rittersburg.
