TYPES OF LOTCers
Welcome to my guide on the different types of LOTC players. In this guide I will try to cover most of the mainstream variants, yet I’ll probably leave a few out, which you guys can let me know to add in part 2.
The PVP GOON
The pvp goon usually is a part of some random human settlement, sometimes even just being a part of any random conglomerate or settlement, typically being housed in the north side of Arcas. They rarely do serious roleplay, and mainly just run around and hit random people who are ACTUALLY roleplaying. Some of them only log on the server for PVP. Also, you can expect to find them in some sort of bandit skin, and are almost ALWAYS anti-Oren. They are commonly bandits, or at least associated with bandits in some way. Pvp goons always try to take screenshots or videos of their pvp, yet they forget to turn their goofy texture packs and their max FOV quake pro off so it looks pretty stupid. Sometimes you can even spot a minimap in their screenshots.
Every single one of them seems to have a PVP texture pack which makes the game look extremely ugly and cartoonish, to enhance their pvp, and most, if not all of them, use badlion client with saturation enabled. Finally, they are usually somewhat toxic and have been banned at least once, always claiming to be reformed yet with no evidence of change.
The SUTICAN SNOWFLAKE
The Sutican snowflake doesn’t always have to be from Sutica, in fact, it’s more common to find them in other places nowadays. The term ‘Sutican’ is still used though. You can expect the Sutican snowflake player to always be some sort of elf, rarely being a human. They always attempt to gain voidal magic, yet they fail because of them being either 1. A bad rper, or 2. A bad rper. After failing to gain voidal magic, they attempt to make their character look as different as they possibly can, using strategies from cutting limbs off, to going blind, to dying hair, to getting golem or some other magically enhanced limbs. ALSO, it must be noted that they will almost always be seen just sitting alone in the back of the tavern, or on a bench in the square, not rping with anybody… simply waiting… waiting for someone to approach them.
The MAGIC STACKER
The magic stacker always plays some sort of regular looking elf, quite a far-fetch from their long-distance cousins, the Sutican snowflakes. They usually have at least 3-4 (sometimes even 5) of their magic slots filled with 1 slot voidal magics which they rarely use, and in turn, begin to loathe magic in total for the rest of their time playing LOTC. After seeing how boring and bland voidal magic can be, they become very jaded, and instead move on to playing other characters.
The MILITARY RPER/RANK GOON
The military rper always joins a military with the intent on climbing the ranks and one day taking over the military, and then the nation. You can literally never trust a military rper, because if they fail to take over, they will instead move on to a different nation. Eventually they will gain your trust after a month or two, in which you will give them land, or privileges, or a fancy title. Don’t do this. It only boosts their ego and they will think they have power in mineman. These people are most commonly found in human nations.
The “PVP DEFAULT IS TRASH AND IT IS THE BANE OF THIS SERVER” player
Now… don’t even get me started about these people. They fail to understand that there is no in between, and they literally always think they are on some sort of higher wave-length of roleplay than everyone else, and especially the people that pvp. Take me for an example, I roleplay, and I pvp. I understand that pvp is fundamental to certain circumstances on the server. This is what these types of players fail to understand. They would rather sit in CRP for 10 hours, in a 10v10, than pvp to get it over with. Literally who has time to CRP for 10 hours (aside from these people, apparently). ALSO, these roleplayers will call you out on every single move you do in CRP. They will point out if something is even minorly inaccurate, and they just go really sweaty in #Looc.
The ROMANCE RPER
These roleplayers play a female human most of the time, sometimes playing a female wood elf. They can play other races, albeit, it's unlikely. They also tend to be nobles in some human place like Helena or Haense. Pretty much the only thing they do is romance or slice of life roleplay, then they proceed to tell all their fellow LOTCers about the romance rp they did last night.
The EDGY NEW PLAYER
I'm pretty sure we’ve all had at least one run-in with an edgy new player. They typically have some sort of personality disorder in character, and just say overly edgy stuff out loud. Also, sometimes they even run around with complete edge-lord skins, just out in the open, for no apparent reason, and will always have names like “Scar Shadowcreep”, for something that sounds like it’s from wizard 101
The BANNED ALT
The banned alt has been evading bans for years, yet continues to play using an assortment of different alts and vpns. You simply never know when you come in contact with one, for anyone could be a banned alt… I could be a banned alt, for all you know. Just kidding, I’m not. Anyway, you get the point.
The “I DON’T LIKE YOU OOC, SO I’M GOING TO BANISH YOU FROM MY NATION WITH NO IRP REASON” player
These players are usually mad that you secretly cucked them irply, yet they don’t know irply, and only know oocly because of your scheming brilliance. And so, they banish you oocly from the community because of your IC actions. Usually this happens when you play an antagonist character, but you are so good at playing them that you can’t get caught irply.
The “MY CHARACTER HAS BEEN PRACTICING COMBAT FOR 200 YEARS” player
These guys are always some sort of 300 year old wood elf or something that has not even played for more than 6 months. They claim that their character is better because “they have been using a sword for 300 years” in CRP and will always power-game being better than their opponent, no matter the circumstances. I’m sure we’ve all seen one of these players before.
The BOOMER
The boomer has been playing since 2011, or 2014 at the latest and will always talk about “how much better it was back then”, and always talk about old memories of how stuff was broken, or how everyone was a noob, etc. They always seem to be lost within a wave of nostalgia, drifting off elsewhere, perhaps longing for time to rewind so that they may play on Aegis or Asulon once more.
The HIDING SPOOK ROLEPLAYER
The hiding spook roleplayer usually plays some sort of spook, yet has literally never interacted or done any antagonist roleplay with anyone. They typically have some sort of lair and literally never roleplay outside of it, they just sit in their lair and roleplay amongst themselves. That being said, I partially don’t blame some of them, due to the fact that there has been heavy meta-gaming in the past when said spooks try to actually do something fun.
The FAUX BOOMER
The Faux Boomer, who has been around for only a few years but still pretends they are super ancient. Constantly talks about things that happened a year or two ago like those were the golden days even though they really sucked. Is probably living through what they'll consider to be a golden age after a year has gone by, but still thinks that everything is worse regardless.
IN CONCLUSION
No this was not a diss on anyone, just a joke, so don’t rage if I described you.
