During what seemed like a regular activity for the Reinmaren Pontiff, His Holiness abruptly turned leftward, after an extended period of gazing out in the direction, before dashing across the countryside. After exhausting his horse, the Pontiff was then suddenly bucked off and onto the ground. He has been unresponsive since. With this sudden action, the physicians currently caring for His Holiness worry for his mental state, noting the seemingly sudden shifts in character from the man’s childhood. The Church must keep moving forward, regardless of any setbacks it suffers. SECTION VI The art of alchemy is a sensitive one, for it can be used for evil as much as it may be used for good. However, one must be able to trust those who preach GOD’s word, and so, We declare the following: The Church of the Canon officially endorses the art of alchemy among the clergy, on the condition that they only use the accepted section of alchemy, transfiguration. Those who seek to learn this knowledge and use it for the benefit of GOD’s flock are directed towards Saint Felder’s Rock, within the Kingdom of Oren, where Lector Trevor and other members of the Lectorate are willing to accept students within the clergy, as We Ourself were accepted. Those who accept such an invitation are warned, however. He who is called Fidei Defensor must go about his duties in a most virtuous manner, to set an example for the people who share his faith, and he must never hesitate to do right by GOD, his Lord who he has placed all trust in. The manner of which the title is granted, however, is with a major flaw. One that is the reason which many men have held the title without ever being deserving of it - Inheritance. The title of Fidei Defensor is one that should only ever be held by a man whose piety, loyalty, and dedication to the Holy Mother Church and GOD is undoubtable. The flaw of inheritance has ensured that men who are the opposite have been allowed to hold the title. One must remember that even men such as Philip III were once called Fidei Defensor. Throughout the process of this conflict surrounding the Silver Isle of Haelun’or, none of the Canonist nations’ actions have been fully virtuous, and the actions of the Kingdom of Haense under Karl III, the current holder of the title, have proven to Us that none are deserving of the title. It is the duty of not just the Fidei Defensor, but all Canonist nations to maintain peace among each other, a duty all of them have failed to achieve. All three rulers at this moment are sons of Fidei Defensors past, yet they have all proven that birthright alone does not make any man worthy of the title. Throughout the years, the once prestigious title has been reduced to nothing but a political tool, used both by the nation which holds it as apparent proof of the virtue in their actions, and by the Church as a means of threatening and punishing said nation. Both have been proven in Our lifetime, with the Michaelite Schism and the events of this Saint’s Week. Thus, the following is concluded. Humanity has lost its way. It is the duty of all Canonists to defend the faith, but such a duty has been failed by all throughout recent history. It is painful that We must be the one to do so, but it is for the good of all Canondom that the title be destroyed, as a lesson both sombre and righteous. As of now, the title of Fidei Defensor is revoked from Karl III of Haense and immediately destroyed, only to be granted when a High Pontiff deems a Canonist sovereign to be deserving of the title. One would be challenged to find someone who has not been involved in the war raging between the E.A.T.O and the U.S.S.A surrounding the Silver Isle. Thousands lay injured or dead on the lands of Haense, Oren and Urguan, and thousands more shall meet such a fate once the assault on Haelun’or officially begins. However, We must remember one of the original reasons given for the assault by the E.A.T.O, and the reason the Kingdom of Oren originally seized the island. To purge the island of the Azdrazi threat that lingered within the lands of the Horde. Now, it is clear that this war is a secular matter, not one fueled by the desire to cleanse the Silver Isle, but rather the desire for superiority over the domain. It does not need to be that way. There is still the chance that one day the Canonist Princes will unite together to rid the world of the influence of Azdromoth’s followers, that one day our children shall not have to live in fear of being subject to such influences. There may be war today, but in the world of tomorrow, there is no reason that the brethren of GOD can't live in peace and freedom from the clutches of evil. To the Canonist Princes; We implore you all to convene with each other, and We intend to facilitate such, in a neutral location guarded by the Holy Knights, so that we may discuss the possibility of such a future, and the potential cooperation between the forces of GOD. With the Orenian acquisition of the island which is home to the people of Haelun’or, and the attempts of the Azdrazi to twist the meaning of Our past actions, We feel obliged to release a further publication to address the changes in Almaris’ landscape. On The Words of Morur’ei Last Saint’s Day the cowardly Azdrazi known as Morur’ei has revealed himself to the public of Almaris, preaching what is, at best, blatant half-truths of his interaction with Us. It is imperative that the public know the entire story of Our interaction with the man, so that they may know Our reasoning for ever meeting with such a being in the first place, and what We have to say about such at this moment. To begin, the treacherous heretic claims to have met with Us near a Saint’s Week ago. While he is far off the true time of the meeting, as We were informed of the deception of the meeting at that time, We will not deny such a meeting occurring. However, he lies about the form We met him in. It was not the true form of the Azdrazi that We were greeted with, but rather the humble form of a priest, in a blatant attempt to fool Us into ever meeting with his kind. Had We known of the man’s true identity as a child of Azdromoth, We would never have considered meeting with him. Secondly, the Azdrazi speaks of us agreeing to meet with his people, another half-truth shamelessly used by him in an attempt to tarnish the reputation of the Pontificate. We never agreed to meet with the Azdrazi, simply that We would consider such an offer. Now, however, We see the reason such a request was made by you - so that We may be swayed by the children of Azdromoth, just as the Orcs of the Horde were through your deception. Such was the reason We endorsed the Haeseni and Urguani assault on their land - to cease the spread of your influence on the Descendants of this land. However, such land has now been taken by one of the Canonist princes, and thus We wish to state the following. On The Island of Haelun’or Before, We had once endorsed the efforts of Haense, Urguan, and now Balian to seize the island of Haelun’or from the misguided Orcs of the Horde. Now, however, the situation has changed, with the King of Oren acquiring the land in the Peace of Vienne. While His Majesty, Frederick I, may follow the sect of Owynism rather than the main branch of Canonism, We are glad to see more land fall under the domain of GOD. However, it seems our previous missive has caused much confusion to the public, considering the extremely small timeframe in which both our publication and the aforementioned peace treaty were published. Thus, We make the following decree; With the island of Haelun’or now under the protection of a Canonist prince, We no longer endorse the eastward push of the forces of NATO. Instead, We now make the following implorations; To the forces of NATO It is crucial that needless conflict between Canonist brethren is halted, as the people of Oren follow either the main branch of Canonism or the Owynist sect. As such, We implore this force, led by men such as the Fidei Defensor and the Grand Duke, to turn their attention westward, towards the lands under the influence of Azdromoth, and cleanse such land of their presence. However, the issue still remains that there may be followers of Iblees’ servant hiding inside the domain.
