  1. The freeze more or less had to do with the fact that I sat there and let Illivira rally so that they'd have numbers to fight us. Otherwise, we would have initiated the freeze way sooner (this was so that the players themselves who played the Soul Trees could log on to interact with us). This is the same instance of role-play, within the same timeline of events. So, it does not make sense to me how we would not have a freeze while waiting for those players to log on? I also don't really understand how Tav factors into this at all. There were around 20 of us there and 20 Illivirans/Paladins/Norlanders there. Am I supposed to begin picking through people on the other side I might disagree with and insinuating that they were there solely to kill my Zar'akal because they don't like the direction that the Naztherak community has taken since I began disconnecting people from the magic? Again, nobody is faulting you for being upset at the loss of your character, or your friends characters. However, to insinuate in anyway that it is some convoluted scheme on the part of Tav who wasn't a member of our leadership at the time of the raid is just baseless conjecture. The raid was spearheaded by characters played by myself, VolcanicGoat, Lenny, and RaiderBlue, Ken and TomFunks (who doubled up with Goat). RaiderBlue refused to run DCs on the other Soul Trees as far as I know so that we could avoid further PKs. When we were there for the other RP, I was told nobody else (from the player perspective) would be PKing.
  2. To be clear, I didn't expect that anybody would be forced to PK apart from Nenar (due to unattunement). As for whether it's noted on the lore, I am unsure, but I don't think a living plant could survive away from the sun in a chest for very long. I had nothing to do with any ST process for this (I am Enforcement + Event, not Lore). I am more or less giving you a boots-on-the-ground player perspective of it. It's fine to make mistakes, it's not your bad, sometimes shit just happens that blows. A very long time ago, my phylactery got smashed and I was basically hard PK'd. I didn't feel it was fair then but I rolled with the punches at the time. I am not sure how the situation is OOC, so if you could elaborate, I would appreciate that. Because I have endeavored to keep all of my decisions in-roleplay. If you mean the process of Lore Team being involved and the Lore Admin denying MA's and CA's, yes, that is more or less a verdict being enforced from the top-down as an arbitration about whether or not the saplings being stored in a chest was valid, and whether those saplings could survive in those conditions.
  3. You all stuck living saplings in a chest to wilt and die. I understand it sucks, but if you had one job and that was for a person to carry the sapling, it falls on us as CA players to know the lore we're playing. Even if our lore is flawed or incomplete, or requires extensive revisions. At the bottom of every Magic Application or Creature App, there is a clause that specifies that if the magic can PK you, you accept. It's more or less a contract. You're signing up for these kinds of verdicts when you roll a CA. If you dislike the current parameters of your CA, I heavily advocate rewriting it. In the case of Tree Lords, their lore has not been touched in some time, and do not currently reflect widely-held standards and lore conventions in other creatures. I am sure ST who actively omni'd and engaged with this situation can probably give you better answers, and I am very sorry you lost your character to that sapling redline. Maybe it's easier from the outside looking in to point out something I feel is common sense. I regularly PK characters on a dime, even ones I've played for awhile, so I might not be the person to ask on this subject.
  4. I appreciate the way this piece has been expanded to produce more avenues of role-play for Cursed Children that are more clearly defined. I'm a bit too tired to get into the weeds about it, but I think this will bring about positive change for the Cursed Child feat.
  5. I think that LT should punish people who don't RP their racial curses. 3 month timer makes Cursed Child creation the same as Azdrazi. The two are not even nearly similar in power scale. It does not warrant the timer. Excess cursed children could have been purged through policies enforcing the Racial Curse Lore, and I think we should return to that method of enforcement. Arbitrarily limiting the number of kids due to bad faith actors just means that people will find a new way to circumnavigate it (having each Naztherak they connect produce 1 for a private army). I also think the clause in general regarding the appearance of Cursed Children is not good. Whether a character is perceived as handsome or ugly is largely in the eye of the beholder. That being said, Cursed Children should not appear humanoid, and should overwhelmingly be viewed as "abnormal" or "ugly with comparison" to ordinary people's preferences. Just my 2 cents.
  6. Sir Paul Montalt can sleep soundly in Hell knowing that he slaughtered the Balianese colonizers and sent them back to whence they came. The trauma of the Balianese' own very existence was so repulsive, that Paul and his descendants forged a half-way decent relationship with the Haensemen in the century afterwards. After all, the Haenseman did what they did for territorial advancement - the Balianese just sought to undermine anybody they could, traveling in the underbrush like wretched serpents and then biting whatever passerby was misfortunate enough to stumble upon them. The Lord of Montalt, Count of Mardon, toasted his Haeseni and Ferryman allies before he again faded from memory. Rest in Peace, 𐠒 Sir Paul Dmitrievich Montalt "The Tongue". Why was he called that? Because he relished in ripping out the tongues of his foes, and it became his knightly epithet. Paul's ghost would always relish in the victory claimed that day, where good triumphed over evil, and the invaders were cast out at sword point. @Halt@Malta@Axeluu

    Farewell

You always had a cool head and what few conversations I've seen you participate in, you've been very reasonable. Sad to see you go.
  10. The Demon King licked his wounds. It was a close fight, but the powers of a Templar paired with a carbarum sword had been more than a match for him. Next time, I'll bring my shield.

  13. To all involved parties in last night's CRP "warclaim" in Illivir,a please either comment your Discord here, or leave moments in the RP that you want included in the post. Given that there might be a few PKs, I am taking extra time to write this for the rest of the week, so that it is really legible and encapsulates the moment perfectly. It is very rare for there to be that level of synchronicity between RPers, and I wanted to thank everybody who attended. It warmed my cold, dead heart that people seemed to enjoy themselves for the most part!

    TL;DR
Leave screenshots or descriptions of a favorite moment during the RP, or what your character was doing there.

Leave your Discord and I'll add you to a list of people to add so I can ask questions.

  14. Moments prior to Nenar's death... The King of the Demons was an enigmatic figure, one shrouded in relative secrecy, bar the occasional person with a faint inkling of his plans and character. Much like all Inferi, Vriza lacked the ability to empathize – in fact, he felt earnestly he had not been brutal enough in his subjugation of the grove, and was embarrassed at his own lack of foresight securing his allies downstairs. However, fate had brought Vriza and Nenar together that day. In his estimation, he was the strongest Devil-King on Mundus, and he refused to be brought low by a tree, no matter how bravely those roots thrashed and whipped him, slapping against his flesh-armor and leaving small scratches across his chitin exterior. Such tenacity, this creature would make a fine Inferis.
  15. [!] An unembellished letter is found, unsigned except for a broad talon mark written in Orcish blood at the bottom, stamped for authenticity. It was a day like any other when I crossed into your gate with the assistance of my ally from the Black Church. He clipped the bars, we entered, and we laid your people low. A few were brave enough to escape, the rest died, including the brave Orc from the Horde who sought to protect you from us. I care little that you killed the weakling in front of the temple. However, do not think that an offense against my rule goes unprosecuted, and that you may simply waltz into our lands unhindered. Yes, you slaughtered one of us. Who? I cannot say. The weakest among us have no purpose. However, all of you are weak links when you stand apart, and today you sallied forth like moths orbiting a sweltering lantern's flame. I had thought you would offer me a substantial challenge. One of you got away, he would rather see the rest of his peers lose than to stand and die with his allies. The difference, I suppose, between Cerulia and the Black Church is that the Black Church does not hide who they are. How many insidious rogue apostates lurk in the underbelly of this wicked den of villainy? Your mere posters reveal the "evil" that lurks here, yet your allies rally for you regardless, and die in droves to protect you. It is a great con for sure, I commend the way you have managed to manipulate these brave Dwed men and women to defend you while you run or hide in the rafters of your homes every time an enemy force arrives. Remember wisely, reconsider it next time when you enter the lands of the Inferi.
