Hello everybody. My name is Availer, and for those who don't know me, I was the Lead Developer and Founder of The Lord Of The Craft. It's with great pleasure that I'ld like to announce my return to The Lord Of The Craft Staff team as the Lead Developer and I hope to work with our community to create an even more amazing Role-Playing experience for the world to enjoy.
Why am I returning? Shouldn't I still be on the team. Well, during late 2011, a succession of miscommunication occurred between senior staff members that resulted in my removal. There were mistakes on both sides and removing a Founder or Lead Developer is something that should not and can not occur. During that period I was moving to a different country because of my education and for that reason I was not able to provide the community the time it deserved. That coupled with a misinformed staff team believing money was stolen caused a large issue that resulted in my illegal removal. However, regardless there were faults on both sides.
Recently I was approached by the Lead Programmer and Developer of LoTC Vaquxine. We both agreed that what occurred was in the past and that the community would benefit if we worked together once more. Lord Of The Craft being my adopted baby, I could not decline Vaquxine regardless whether I was angry or not and I soon forgave the community for what had occurred. And I hope the community accepts my apology for any problems caused.
Shiftnative has done an absolutely incredible job continuing where I left off and a big thanks to all the staff members, community members, event and media team staff for all the work they have put in. They've all done an excellent job and they deserve mine and the communities sincere thanks. For all of our players, give yourself a pat on the back, you're part of one of the most incredible RP experiences on the internet (i.e the world). And now it's time for us to work together and continue this amazing job of developing this game to be the game that rules them all.
Once more, as part of the Administrative team, our aim is to create the best possible Role-Playing experience on Minecraft and hopefully on any platform. We're working hard, with no pay, to create an environment, a world, an atmosphere for people to share their creative energies. Thousands of people have felt moments of happiness on LoTC and we hope to make it hundreds of thousands. Together with the community we will be able to reach this goal.
During the next few weeks the LoTC development team will be working hard to improve the Role-Playing experience on LoTC.
- Re-formatting the way our application process works, making it more streamlined. We will be also changing the way applying works to allow our Minecraft Forum thread to be automatically bumped by applicants, giving it more views. You can also help the team by posting replied to our MC Forum thread HERE. By bumping the thread you allow more users to see our thread which means more players to interact with. If each user bumped it daily we would almost always be on the front page. Thank you in advance.
- We will be recruiting new members of staff from the community very shortly, so prepare your CVs and get them posting. We will also be removing members of staff that have not been active and will be replacing them with members of the community who deserve the responsibility. We'll also be radically changing the way our team works to make us more efficient. I'm sure this will all have a positive effect on the community and the game.
- The Development team will be working closely with the Event team to create incredible story moving events that will enrich the already amazing experience on LoTC. Be prepared to be featured on our livestreams! Check out our events forum for more details.
- We will also be working closely with the Media Team to offer our players new video content. Role-played series, Vlogs, showcases, competitions, podcasts will be featured on our official Youtube channel. We'll also be accepting work from the community that we'll be spotlighting on our channel. If you haven't checked out the Youtube channel, click on the Youtube button to the main page.
- Competitions! Many of them, members of the community will be pit against each other in many forms! We'll have competitions on Video composition, Reviews, Music, Art and Role-Play, time to get our creative juices going! And of course competitions don't work without prizes :).
- Aegis 3.0. Must I say more?
EDIT: Here is the lore post. Videos of the event will be uploaded to Youtube as well!
It's great to be back.
