  1. personally I'd like to see clans fill up this app just to give them a proper identity. It'd be great if the ironguts filled it out!
  2. I've talked with the current kings and clan leaders and they all were content. We are preaching the old faith though and die-hard traditionalist based on some of the writings of Gaius and I, along with archiving and fostering dwarven culture, and protecting dwarven interests through conquest and crusade.
  3. Barely, they've gotten little in the way in regards to expanding the Dwarven religion nor promoting the "old culture" (before first century). We write Dwarven poems relegating days of old, protect ruin sites, and kill those who we deem a threat to the old ways and old days, especially through Holy War's under Dungrimm. The ironguts, on the other hand, consist of mainly laborers (miners/farmers) and mages, and have mage blood in them making them best candidates for ascended + mages and are hard and diligent workers.
  4. Me and Gaius are working on a religious and scholarly clan. We also skin orcs, but we do so in a crusading and "civilized" fashion. :P No matter what clan you join (or just go clan-less) you'll need a VA to go axe-crazy and be a skinner.
  5. ( Any clan without the 5 number working in or with the city is technically either an exiled or dead clan)
  6. (( I could understand a mask of Uruguan since he walked on Asulon/Aegis/The World, but Dungrimm and the other gods are like the traditional Abrahamic God in that they don't walk the earth. So to steal or take Dungrimm's personal mask firstmost doesn't seem feasible, and then its just downright disrespectful to take the God's mask. You can RP that maybe you've located on that old dwarves made as Luchian said, but we would need to consider it to make it fit lore, and you would need approval from a bunch of people. Considering I'm doing religion right now for the dwarves you'd need to clear it up with me along with other people too. It'd make more RP sense if he just had a master smith or rune smith craft him a Dungrimm mask and he had to go on a voyage because Arbrek had died so their was barely anyone who could craft him a proper mask ))
  7. (( for the purpose of a noble clan, you can only have one Representative represent the clan in the council meetings)
  8. (( I don't think there is one specific Dwarven Mask of Dungrimm btw... Priests and Smiths of the Good Faith can make a mask for you to wear into combat, but to wear the original out of the blue seems a bit off. It probably would not be in Asulon anywho, and even if it were it would be much more interesting to see an RP event revolve around. ))
  9. Hildr smirks to herself, noting his faith to Dungrimm "Aye, finally a guud fighter whu fights in de' name o' de true gods! Divines be witye' lad, it's guud to see guud-kin like ye' return tu yer homelands. Pray be, I nay know much about dis Liam o' who ye' be are but ye seems o' fine-blood."
  10. With the new city and new king comes huge reform changes. One of the biggest and most exciting new policies under Kjell's administration is the return of clans and clan power. In the early stages of Khaz we were far too divided and low in population to support proper clan RP, but now with new and old rpers coming to our kingdom, we have agreed on how that clan's will once more return to be crucial in the new Dwarven cities and kingdoms. So, I decided to type a draft on a personal idea of how exactly clans work, each clan's philosophies and ideals, and finally a potential app for new clans to fill out. I. How Clans Function For the Dwarves I had thought it would be a great idea if rather than have every clan be a "noble clan", the title of noble clan and representation in the government be solely reserved for the clans with the best roleplay (Before I get hate for suggesting this was my idea, it kind of was my idea because I told Stronghold to do it when he was about to be king, and I also told Kjell to implement it right when the power swapped) All other clans would be considered the commoner clans and would not have a particular say in government. However, as Hiebe suggested many times, commoner and noble clans can work together, forming coalitions and pacts against other clans. Noble Clans can hire commoner clans to do their dirty work, and in exchange the noble clan will aid in getting the commoner clan into power. Personally I believe that the following should be how exactly a clan assumes nobility. One week every month is deemed "The Week of Challenges", and is the only week where a commoner clan can opt to challenge a noble clan for its spot in power. It is purely a clan vs clan affair, unless multiple commoner clans desire to take out 1 Noble clan. This is an example of how it could proceed. Braveaxes are noble clan. During Week of Challenges, Braveaxe spot of noble clan is challenged by both the Starbreakers and the Irehearts Braveaxes and the other two duke it out in wealth, contributions, combat, and vote of the council. Braveaxes lose to both. Then the Irehearts and Starbreakers duke it out for the noble spot. Irehearts win the seat and become a Noble Clan. The top three clans which survive the week of challenges (One week every month, where commoner clans are permitted to challenge 1 noble clan for their spot) are judged on these criteria 1) Clan Duels - PvP Duels, either being 1v1 and 2v2's. It would be a dueling process where two clans send their best warriors to the arena to fight. Personally I think it should be a best of seven or nine spanning a day or two 2) Wealth - The clan which can amass a fair sum, but not exorbitant (in my opinion around 20k), will receive great favor from the nation. Personally I believe this should be either in conquest, money, or goods, not just strictly money. Only the victor will be required to donate their portion. 3) Grand Council Vote - The councillors vote on which clan has done the most for the kingdom. However, this vote should not be regarded in wealth, but rather the clan which drums up the most roleplay. If it is a tie, then the King acts as a tiebreaker. 4) Dwarven Debates - The King will supervise a debate between the two feuding clans over a particular topic. Depending on the clan who argues the best and uses logic and reasoning and would show to deserve nobility for their oratory skills will win this based on the King's decision. If the clan in contest is the King's, a Grand Councillor will take his stead. (Dwarves always bicker so this is a good RP facet) You must win 3 out of 4 of these trials to win the noble clans. This is not much different from the one posted by Gimrik except that its a bit more in depth, and that wealth can be considered in conquests and in money. This is also another idea for a criteria. Being a noble clan is a great honor. Not only do you have the right to flaunt your noble status amongst other nations and fellow dwarves, but you also will get special rights among the Dwarves and typically only members of a noble clan can become king or a grand Councillor. While it is a bitter fight to attain the title, the rewards are plentiful. The Uruguan Mandate In times of crisis (both IC and potentially OOC if the clan drama gets too much), the king can declare the Uruguan Mandate. All clan titles are dropped in lieu of "Uruguan" so a dwarf would become Stronghold Urugan over Stronghold Braveaxe. This is used to unite all dwarves and remind them that while their clan is important, the dwarven people and kingdoms comes first. During this mandate, a crises must be declared by the king, and once the grand councillors + king agree that the crisis is over, the mandate ends. During this period of time, feuding dwarves come together, unite and solve the problems in the name of the Dwarves and uruguan, not in the name of a clan. II. Current Clans of the Dwarves This is just how I've viewed the clans and if any new dwarves read this can help ease their decision in choosing a clan. Please PM or comment if you feel my description is wrong and I will fix it, or if I don't know much about your clan you can send me something to work with. It should be fairly unique. REMEMBER THESE ARE STEREOTYPES! Blackaxes have had the spot of Grand Champion, and even the mellow Ironguts once led a rebellion and abandoned the Dwarven kingdom. This is just the idea of the cultures and philosophies which some memebers of the clan follow due to heritage. While it shapes them, it does not define them. NOBLE CLANS Braveaxes: The most pragmatic and "dwarve-y" dwarves, the braveaxes are in the middle of everything. They are not too liberal, not too calm, not too conservative nor not too crazed. They value a good drinker and an honest dwarf, and often times those of their clan find themselves to be soldiers or guards of the city. Many kings have arisen from the loins of the Braveaxes however, and they are notable a Noble clan. Trials/Prerequisites: N/A Blackaxes: Shrewd diplomats who were once exiled, then enjoyed a long period of prosperity and expansion, and now are withering, the Blackaxes still champion their status as a noble clan. They are the most verbal of the clans, utilizing their quick tongue to insure good trade and good politics. Do not be fooled by this however, as many blackaxes also possess a sharp blade as well as a sharp tongue. While they've only had one king, the Blackaxes have proven to be a reliable set of Dwarves and thus are a Noble clan Trials/Prerequisites: N/A Ironguts: The Ironguts, once of the oldest and largest clans, are spread all across Asulon. Composed of peoples from all walks of life, but mostly labourers and mages, the Ironguts are the more calm and composed of the Dwarven clans. While they still possess the passion and honor of a traditional clan, they fight for what they believe is right and are much more mellow. From them have arised Dwarven ascended and kings, and thus they remain to be a noble clan as well. Trials/Prerequisites: N/A Commoner Clans Irehearts: The most blood-thirsty of the clans, the irehearts are filled with the dwarven passion of war. They fight savagely and focus on honing their skills upon what they deem as fiends of Asulon. While their head, Kjell Ireheart, is king, they have yet to prove themselves noble. Trials/Prerequisties: Trial of the Irehearts, a daunting tribulation to the passion of the irehearts. Those who wish to ascend their ranks must do a variety of tasks from collecting Orc ears to gathering the bark of a Dryad Tree. Speak to Kjell Ireheart for further information. Grimmhalls: While the Grimhalls have never had an extremely high position of power, they are revered for their architectural talents. Famed builders and renowned for their masonry, Grimhalls have always been the ones to build the homes of the kings and palaces. They are a quiet bunch, but one that enjoys to tinker and build. Trials/Prerequisites: ??? Starbreakers: ??? Trials/Prerequisites: ??? Goldhands: ??? Trials/Prerequisites: ??? As I said, pm me or post in the thread if you wish to add or edit something about your clan, or add an approved clan to this list. III. Clan App Here is a possible application for a Clan to fill out to show that it has good RP behind it (ignoring lore of course)
  11. ( You would still be a clan, perhaps one of solely Dwarves, but the thing is because you don't serve the government, you would not be listed/recognized by them as a clan, and at the end of the day they are the ones who have the right to recognize which clans are true and which are rogue and go against the wishes of Uruguan who desires unified dwarves)
  12. ( ok so shouldn't their be an app instead of jus ta 5 dwarf tally eh ill just write up something about how i personally feel about the clans maybe a clan faq)
  13. ( what happened to the clan app? and shouldn't it be 5 members who live in the city? if only two guys live in the city and 8 live abroad then they arent really a dwarf of the nation and thus not really a dwarven clan )
  14. Not saying that but there needs to be a way to avoid trolling and metagaming from TS. I think moderating would be a step. There's too much RP being conducted in the TS, I see trade, politics and diplomacy discussed in OOC and TC far too much. Plus we also need to take a stand against poor IC RP because its getting bad or so i've heard, as we just do our RP in OOC and do nothing IG.
  15. Agreed. TS trolling is terrible. When Stronghold was still vying for king I suggested to him to have moderators watch over the TS chat for trolling and metagaming. We've been relying on TS for FAR too much RP and it's terrible. Most other good rp kingdoms barely use it, and I've spent time in a variety of other kingdoms and nations and the ones which rely on OOC communication the least, have had the best RP by far. The IC-trolling is bad too with random punching and poor RP. Just because we are all buddy-buddy doesn't give an excuse for bad or trolly RP IG It's getting ridiculous and I know we can have good RP once if we just cut down this behavior.
  16. Burning someone would be destroying a pure high elves life, blood, and bones though... Seems something which conservatives would not like considering our blood is so pure.
  17. ( Celia/Lucion Kolyat/Larien Seth/Lona Robert/Yuln Ellir/Talias 5 as of yet. I bet we have the biggest couple ratio for any faction group. Not sure if good or bad. :P )
  18. ( Kind of a trolly way to have a king assume power, through an election...? It's not the best RP to just throw out a forum poll to elect a king. )
  19. *The Hooded man replies to Uthor* Then host talks with the new ruler of Salvus, and have these peacekeepers punished, rather then punish an entire nations when her "tyrant" lies dead! A new leader has ascended to the throne, speak with him and punish those who have committed wrong under the command of Dawn. Dawn had controlled these ordinaters as she had "supposedly" controlled the bandits and Undead, and thus the crimes of them are attributed to her. Go out, and host talks. And to those nations and factions who Dawn's Ordinaters had not attacked, shame if you press war, for you desire simple land and are full of greed. Needless bloodshed is needless.
  20. *A Hooded Figure hears the news and speaks out* To those who deemed her corrupt and of sorcery, be content. But now, calling the guard-force corrupt for killing a witch and one of corrupted magics? That makes little to no sense, how can one diplomatically approach one of arcane and perhaps undead magics. Do not continue to fuel such a horrid war. The cause of the war is over. Dawn lays dead, and the nations can rest at ease. The Guards ended the reign of a supposed tyrant, and a new king of just has recieved the throne. Speak diplomatically to him, and if is also a warlock then assume war again. But to fuel this war when the cause is over is senseless bloodshed. Speak to the new Ordinaters, and the new King. Conduct diplomacy with them, and see where it goes. Needless bloodshed is needless. (Because people may've missed it I'll say it again. If the German Army had killed Hitler during WWII because of his tyranny, do you think the Allies would "press on" war? Or would they applaud the army for ending a reign of fascism and tyranny? Seems contradictory...)
  21. Ellir, your move to Ceru has been applauded, for every mali'aheral has followed your remarkable example. For a time, we have been liberated of the tyranny of the councilmen, and I hope the corrupt council will absolve themselves, so we may return to the Silver City. But as of yet, this Ceru is quaint. As Lucion noted, the Renatus Flag is not very appealing, but nonetheless it is a town I can rest in as we wait for the political turmoil of Haelun'or to dissolve.
  22. (( This upcoming 7v2 war where Salvus is fighting off almost the entire world is dull for you? Man 0_0))
  23. ( I'd take a knock out. Not like its specifically stated she died in that RP thing you wrote. Don't let them clobber me! I don't want to be locked under house arrest again :(. )
