  1. Feel like a stamina debuff over a slow debuff is the simplest solution. Is realistic and helps balance out the right things. This makes armor REALLY strong in terms of melee, but doesn't solve the problem of kiting, just extends the time an armored person has to close the infinitely impossible sprint gap. Kind of shifts the wrong things...
  2. the naked archer is now the best fighter in RP. yay plugins

I do feel they should have caught something as gamebreaking as this from the get-go though

Hahahah, wow? I don't agree. It seems that any lad with a sword could cut down a naked archer with ease!

  3. If one is to keep these crazy archer damage output on limbs, torso and face, then I would change it so armor can take a LOT more damage, and that people in armor can sprint and walk as fast as a normal person, but their hunger bar is drained MUCH faster. They would only be able to sprint for around 30 or so minutes before having to stop and recovering their stamina. Modern day military men sprint with 40-80 pounds of gear on them, weighing on solely their leg and chest. Armor is more spread out on all over the body, and generally weighs less than 80 pounds, averaging at 40-50. I'm pretty sure a trained soldier could outrun half of the server, even if said soldier has such weight on him. People are trained to take encumbrance upon them...Maybe they would lose a marathon, but they still have a high initial velocity.
  4. Also, if you plan on going to war, turn off moreplayer models. Dwarves, orcs and elves all can dodge headshots with ease, because the "real" model is higher or lower than what the mod shifts it to. Just a heads up but... We don't have tanks (while diamond armor acts as a "tank" you are too slow and don't have the raw defense to soak up hits, I've been doing some testing and I can 2-3 shot diamond armored people with level 100 archery.) We've always had assassins, archers were always able to one or two shot people with 100 archery or even 75, now they one or two shot the armored folk at those levels And the range dps reign supreme. Meleeing is kinda pointless expect in the most extreme cases. Kinda reminds me of an FPS now, where it's all about shooting and melee is only when you happen to be next to someone. Kinda ruins the medieval vibe when the shooters reign supreme, over the melee men.
  5. Can't we just have it so armor takes up vast amounts of the hunger bar? Soldiers in all facets, mythos, movies, books, and obviously in real life, can sprint for a TIME. I would say that wearing diamond armor, after a minute or so of sprinting, one drops to around 3 hunger bar, so they cannot sprint. That seems more fair, and less restricting, abusive, and nerfing as this. Trained warriors -CAN- sprint, its just how much is the variable. It seems silly, that a scrawny bookworm dwarf who's never spent a day running more than a 1/8th of a mile, can outrun a battle-hardened Orc who's been sprinting and training in armor since he was eight.
  6. I just took out Pok, when he was using full iron against me with 0 armor and 50 archery... Kiting is so "useful" now. Noobs who just join the server can take out people who've been Rping as warriors for 8+ months. The slowness and the archery buff really stacks up.
  7. Also going to note that at 0 archery, a BODY SHOT can kill someone without armor. Headshots can probably take out the leather-clad.... Melee weapons are kinda useless if a body shot can just drop someone. :/ Anyone can take down anyone. The archery skill is kinda pointless since at a certain point the archery skill plateus, and beyond 50.
  8. After messing around with this... Archery buff + Armor nerf = Ranger may be OP. Understandably, archery was never even balanced, but it was always a useful backup skill. Now, given the current set up, it will always dictate fights, and melee has dropped horribly. (Apparently my friend even said Headshots can one shot at level 10~) Wearing no armor = One shot by 100 Archery Wearing leather or chainmail = Two to three shot by 100 Archery, so you get sniped before any combat is initiated Wearing iron or diamond = Too slow to fight at all. You get kited so easily as leather+ dart around you firing arrows as you can do little to nothing... Not only is it annoying and reduces the legitimacy of roleplayed armor, but some of this is plain unrealistic. Literally crawling in armor? Modern day soldiers are trained to fight with 40-80 pounds of ammo and weaponry on them, hanging from the pockets literally weighing them down. At least medieval body armors are balanced around the body so the weight isn't focused on the legs. Being out-WALKED by someone is a bit ridiculous, trained soldiers are soldiers. I think it would have been much better to either a) adjust the slowing down of the speed to one's weapon skills, so that a great warrior who has trained in combat can match the speed of a normal person B) have it so wearing armor depletes the hunger bar exponentially fast. Wearing it outside of combat will make you reach three hunger VERY quickly and you will be wasting tons of stamina and food trying to keep it on. I think it needs some fine tuning or else we will face some problems. Hopefully I'm missing something here.
  9. Following up on ff_wk_14, I just scored a set of chainmail. Is that better in combat than diamond?

  10. *Alistair "Savage" Cibrier somehow catches word of this hold, and attempts to read out the name of the title to practice his linguistics* Ka-....Ka-....Kal'Anal- No, nay, noth.... Kal'Anoose. This will do. *He smiles and sprints off, leaving the sign to the dust*
  11. *Savage frowns at the note. He begins to lightly weep, licking his own tears, enjoying the salt. But the salt is quite bitter so he cries some more* Bubububububu- Chief Flay, Savage spoke ill-will! It's bad! This is why! Omen has come! Failure! Buttonhole is only solution. This is bad! Bawhahahawaawa.... no master, nothing! ( Hope I've left some impression on you Coaster in the short time we've worked together. While I've been trolly around you OOC, I sincerely wish you best of luck in your future endeavors. No matter what they say, no one is a more responsible and caring as you, making sure everything was RP'd right. I will miss you a lot, and few will fill that void. Good luck bud. And Savage will joyfully await the return of his master)
  12. *Savage barks angrily once hearing the news, as he sits in the Dreadfort. Cocking his head, he makes a short response in his gruff wild tone of voice* Chief make mistake? Bahaga! Tomfoolery n' madness. Not happy days, happy place is ta-ta! ( COAAAAAAAAAAAAAASTER )
  13. ( I know that some factions have gotten in trouble for raiding without a "real" purpose, as you forementioned... But good for the Kha to finally get some military going. I never though of them to be so formally organized in conquest, more like the traditional Aztec confederacy's conquest under tribal leaders... But still neato )
  14. RP name: Dread_Knight_Murdoch MC name: TheCrackerJack Why do you want to be on the attacking side? It's not so much as desiring to choose a side as to foster equal, balanced and interesting RP. Skravians have a plethora of allies and comrades along with soldiers to fight with, and not only would it conducive to help balance sides, but it would also be awesome to partake in the dramatic return of the blood mages, storming the isolated Skravia and laying waste to its denizens. What RP would you bring to this war claim (I'm not looking for PVP skills... I'm looking for RP.) I don't really plan to partake in a unique role in this battle. Rather, I would act as the lost, binded, Dread Knight, solely to serve the mages he once challenged to duel. A walking suit of armor, I would shuffle and moan, fighting for people and locations I do not even know exist, solely to serve my master. Do you agree that your character is a one off and can't be used after the battle? Yes, may even just have him lose and die in the battle, so it makes more RP sense. Do you agree to provide good role play to all who take part on the opposite side? How are you going to do such? Through detaching myself from this Dread Knight character, and solely being present to affiliate good , I will force myself to provide a balanced and equal conflict for both sides. I understand this is a one-time thing, and rather then focus on loot as a traditional pillage does, the point of this RP would be to spread terror and signal the return of the Blood Mage. Do you agree that if you commit an act that is outside of the rules in any way whatsoever that we are not liable for you? (Though in wars certain actions are relaxed, but you are still governed by OOC rules and a few RP rules) Yes. Do you agree to follow orders and not go off to do your own thing (which wouldn't make much RP sense) I'm a dread knight, course I'll follow.
  15. Pretty sure every dwarf would enjoy to have their own golem. Perhaps make an RP out of it? Go out, and RP with the dwarves, and have your character decide who would be the best master. IDK what your char will be like, but perhaps he will seek the most powerful, the most influential, the most lax, the most evil, or simply the most fun to be around, for his master. Whatever it be, it'd be a bit more RP that just joining the dwarves and then OOCly picking someone to be your master, for little RP reason. My view on it anyway. I'd love to have a golem too, to manage my stuff, help me fight pagans and spread the dwarven culture and name, and just kick butt and chill out with. But I think it'd be better RP for me and everyone else if I (in this case) had to actually win over my future golem.
  16. As weird as this sounds, this was the exact thing I was thinking to myself about for having a dark elf religion, something to avoid them from worshiping the stereotypical shadows and moons, and make them vary from their typical evil association. Something which encourages a chaotic neutrality, a balance of good and evil, and finding the right morality for the individual, through trial and error, seemed perfect for the race. But it works out fine here, anywho. Good luck!
  17. *slaps up another note* I'll buy 2719 minas worth of diamonds! 7 of 'em, to be exact. Send a bird if yer interested. - Jarl Hagan Dawnsworn

  19. *Savage groans at the influx of letters and people occupying the Dreadfort. He bites his gauntlets to keep the stress low, but ends up hurting his teeth and foaming at the mouth. Sighing, he takes an old block of inkstone, licks it a bit, and tries to write a message. It is sloppy and barely legible with horrid spelling and grammar* deer chef flae two mamny peepal! not nuff people to raide. alistair sai.... toe teu tue tol tew group o flae :) 1 am raider one1 is reserve bahnn9erman raider be small group fite good go raid bahnnherman be big group fite good bu nut as good. this is happy days, alistair
  20. It's not "almost mandatory" to join a clan, let alone a noble clan...if people want to RP independent, they can and we should be all for diverse RP. I do agree with an unbiased post on all the clans. We also need a commoner clan, all we have right now is 3 noble clans (Dawnsworn, Ironfist, Braveaxe-Blackaxe merger), 2 commoner clans (Grimmhalls, who are small, and Goldhands, who don't live or participate with the kingdom) and then the irehearts who basically consist of kjell.
  21. @hiebe bigger problem than us, because skill system is how it is, it would be unfair if certain holds got to do more profitable things, until the skill system is balanced so all trades profit equally... @mili I don't like the advertisement of clans, especially noble ones. We are noble clans, we are supposed to be the one every dwarf aspires to be in, not the other way around, where clans beg and plead with any new player to join. I can see commoner clans begging people to join but its bad rp if nobility have to go down to the level of commoner
  22. *Hagan strokes his beard, a bit thrown off guard by the upcoming war call* "Most humble Paragon....we shuuld plan dis out, may be reckless if we jump in tuu earlier. Be cautious, mi'king. All de' Jarls shuuld convene in a moot, n' decide wut will happen."
  23. ( All three are accepted to the clan. We will issue you trials in RP )
