It's funny because when I'm at conferences... they always seem to remain placing me in the same position, focusing on 'the Republic of Italy'. A lot of fun. (Considering I am from Italy, living in the U.S. :'D)

  12. A treatise on Ascetic Monasticism. Elder Monk Jae, of the Order of Wilven Adonan. Although my views do not constitute those of the Temple itself, I write this as an example of the beliefs of some Monastics in the order of Wilven(not the majority), and as a guide to those monks who will come after me. What are the Monks? Well, that is a loaded question. The Monks of Wilven Adonan can be most succinctly described as a pacifist order, dependent on the ascetic worship of the Triumvirate. As per the Order’s founder, the most glorious means of service to these Dei, is through aiding those that fall beneath them. Asceticism falls hand in hand with Adonanistic Monkhood, very few monks espouse wealth, and many scorn it. Why do we heal others? Well, I believe that can be easily called upon charity. It is by this Charity we believe to find ourselves directly aiding the Divine, coming closer to them. Some may ask, why are you not a secluded sect? Well, I answer them, divinity through seclusion is no divinity at all. One must be tempted to be saved. Aiding others is the ultimate good, and falling to material wealth, the ultimate failing. A question I see asked so often is, why are some Monks so..strange? I mean not in the way that all men of holiness are strange, but in their practices, and this is simply said. The Monks welcome all into their ranks who seek to join. Some are not fitting to the station, and act as though common men and women, without any divinity, whoring about from town to town and forsaking their mission. These are men not of the Trium, yet, wear our robes. They are Wolves in Sheep's Clothing, and do not show the true nature of the Monks. We are called witches, heretics, by other men of holiness, for our ‘power’ is seen as strange, but I say this, our power comes from the same place their Faith does, the Creator, and the Trium. For all we are, if we are anything, are servants of he whom is above, and we do his good work, and that of his’ subjects. What do we believe? Now that, that is even harder to summarize. We follow the Triumvirate, Tariel, Rellenia, and Keldrith. Monks hold vastly differing views on the nature of these beings. Some see them simply as the avatar of the domain they hold, the Sun, the Stars, and the Moon, and some see them as some Canon Priests do, saints, servants of the Creator. Regardless of personal view, there is no single answer. It is up to the monk to cement his inner rule. I say this, to those who consider the life of Wilven, think carefully on these things: Do you wish to serve others above yourself? Do you value wealth? Do you profess allegiance to a nation, and prioritize your nationalism over faith? Do you believe, truly? I leave you with this, Walk with the Trium. Jae.

  14. Well, I'm a Christian(Quaker), and I don't really see any harm in the societal allowance of homosexual marriage. Christianity, Islam, and Judaism do not comprise all world practices. Homosexual Marriages have been noted, in other ways, historically. The concept of marriage itself is not necessarily Abrahamic, so I can't imagine why we should disallow rights to individuals based on one religious groupings belief(and not a unanimous one in any of them!). Many Muslims, Christians, and Jews have no issue with gay marriage, yet many do. However, I also disagree with forcing a minister, a priest, or a pastor, to officiate these marriages. I disagree with their view, but I can respect they do it, typically, out of an adherence to their faith, not as a means to oppress people. If someone asked me to take up arms and shoot someone, I'd be equally unhappy, solely as a matter of faith. The comparison isn't apt, but it's the only one I could really think of in relation to my own religious practices. I have no issue with transgenderism. I don't understand it, but, I see no reason to deny people what they believe to be right. I discount otherkin, as they claim to not even be Human, and some of them claim to be fictional creatures. Psalm 9:9, Isiah 1:17, are what I use to justify my stance, but I don't earnestly believe using only biblical law to condemn something is just in a secular society. As per the NRSV(in regards to psalm 9:9). "The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble." In brief? I have no issue. Let society do what society does. People getting in a fuss are just being ridiculous. If homosexuality is truly a sin(which I can't help but doubt), god will lay down punishment, man need not, as many verses from the NT say in relation to judging others. The only time I have an issue with LGBT rights, is when the identity politics shtick of it gets in the way of actually politics, and functions only as a means to distract the populace from more pressing matters. Pax Vobis, Amici. :) Footenote: Quakers =/= Amish. Looking at you, Space.
