    For anyone interested in WW2 and the Cold War - Danny came across a Royal Observer Corps. bunker whilst walking up the Glens today. Tried to open it up as the padlocks weren't locked, but you need a crow bar to open it up: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BR-eQu3CcAAOkyp.jpg:large

      We have a few, but there used, the main one is in the army base, and the second one is in a technical school...awesome.

      They're not bunkers like most would imagine from the name - instead, they were used as Observatory posts in case of enemy planes ahead or bombers en route to a location. A couple of guys would go into it, and call up if planes went overhead, etc - not sure about their use on the Cold War, but I believe it as to do with Nuclear weapons.
