      I'd argue the Kharajyr are an example of a good mixture. They took many things from Teses Khajiit but worked in Mayan culture and many forms of real life big cats behavior and antics. The race itself may not be doing that great but, due to mixing they've made something unique.

      I'm all for taking inspiration from other sources but the nearly exact copy of Morrowind dark elf culture to lotc is disheartening to say the least. I'm all for balancing your inspiration out with your own thing.

    Don't PM magic teachers, asking them to teach you. In many cases, it's a good way to make sure none of them will wanna teach you. If you want your character to learn magic, let it grow naturally out of rp. It may take a long time, but it'll prove you have the dedication and an rp foundation.

      Yea they can find a teacher but 9 times out of 10 they're so fed up with people asking oocly and rply they don't even want to bother. This is without even discussing the clique magic disaster Pie brings up that locks magic between friends.

      Which brings up a massive flaw in the system that needs to be pointed out. I came here to have fun with other people not kiss up to someone because of "MAGICZ". The whole system needs a real, true rework not this reversion mess.

      Wow it's almost like that's power gaming, something against the rules that could be delt with by Gm's. The other system wasen't great but to revert back to the old system is lazy and only promotes being some ones "*****" to get some damn rp magic.

    I understand most of you probably don't want to hear about this (Stop reading if you don't), but I would really like to bring this to attention. Recently I have seen a major influx of joking comments OOCLy about depression, suicide and self harm. I'd like to say that I don't find this acceptable.     I've always wanted to try my hand at fleshing out an entire fictional world akin to Lovecraft's Cthulhu universe or Tolkienn's Middle Earth. I've always swung at making "races", but nothing to the immensity of a fully-fleshed out world. May I post in the Roleplay thread a sort of journey through the mind thing and have players help me paint some details?
