On there way to the city building to purchase the new land, they were confronted by five shady characters. They were reveled as bandits. Immediately they grabbed him and his father and took their minas. One of them held a dagger to his father's throat and the other pulled out a sword and held it to Carlos's head. Carlos suddenly was cut in the eye with the bandit's sword and he smacked the sword out of his hand and grabbed it. As a sudden reaction he killed the one who held the sword to his head with a single swipe. At the same time he witnessed his father having his neck slit.
