  1. No seriously, finish it. I'll find you. IRL. So I can walk up to your doorstep. And deliver a very scathing letter.
  2. You can do all those things already, if you're clever and know the right magic.Hell. I can make a magical bridge traversing the sky with holy light when I'm really, really clever. Everything else by comparison is just an inspired application of enchanting and alteration.
  3. A hand wreathed in velvet pats a small, ephemeral girl on the head as she looks outward from her home. "Elves and orenians standing together, dwarves siding with flays and orcs... I hate em both, I do. Both sides have sunk their hands in deep, and neither is looking pretty by the end of it." Her eyes wander to the child. "Hate is an evil thing, dear. If I let it, Such a thing can even get to me."
  4. This fits in perfectly as a derivitave of illusion magic. Illusion mages can do all this and more, but using music to communicate it sounds fun!
  5. Alright, two things. One, I don't have a "group." I'm not cliquey, and I actively disinvolve myself from most if not all political rp. I'm free to rp with whoever I want whenever I want, and I do so regularly. And two, who the hell are you to say I'm not nice to newbies? If I could hand out a month long ban for each and every time you or one of your chums bullied a new dark elf player both ICly and OOCly for simply existing some of your little group would be gone for upwards of a full year. I go out of my way to help newbies get better, you just push them around until they never want to see you again.
  6. Tell you what, I'll stop being elitist when this stops being a god damned rp server. We came here to RP. We're the reason this server exists in the first place, and why there are so many people in it; because we actually create fun, interesting environments for other players to interact with. If you don't like that, you can just get out now, because LOTC clearly is not the server for you. Now, Sneaky, Am I talking about pvp default? No I'm not, surprisingly. I'm just talking about RPers who aren't willing to actually make good rp.
  7. The temp map is no darn excuse. The RP I had when I first started on the little island of non-canon players after asulon was corrupted was some of the most quality RP I've ever had. Some people are honestly just that unwilling to make good RP. On that note There is a place for non serious RP and it's called a faction PVP server.
  8. Unfortunately your reasoning, while possible, works off a false positive. Getting many -1s from people who are from the same group is /not/ indicative of them purposely organizing to defamate you. Someone "getting their mates together to -1 you," based off of +1s and -1s alone, is virtually indistinguishable from "likeminded friends having the same opinion." Basically, you can't give a reasonable ban for someone giving a -1 on the forums.
  9. Yeah, I'm liking the current elf RP OOCly. They've had their **** together since Conclave, and in spades. Of course, much to Wardog's ire, I've ICly I've been giving them trouble, but the exclusionist policy from all elven races is a much needed shift. It runs the risk of making the city inactive, but if it gets pulled off with style it'll be worth it. I can't wait to see how it develops in the next map.
  10. I've actually been working off of a personal version of Arcane puppetry on an older character, to much success and the ire of the LMs. Do you mind if I have a go at it, Kalehart? Oh I can /so/ work around that.
  11. #Upvote me if you like +1 reputation marks. ...Also, do not make them public. Showing the usernames of people who +1 or -1 posts is not going to help mods stop the interjerks; honestly, I cannot even see a scenario where a user making a -1 could result in a sensible ban, unless he started making alt accounts to do so. If that was the case, then it would make more sense to just make the up and downvotes viewable to mods and admins alone.
  12. miss you. you might be sick but all you need to do is tell the disease To Let It Go. *Coldface*
  13. Come to think of it, it might even be worth adding permakill to the server. If you want to make raids engaging, add a risk to doing such things. Make death be more than just a brief walk back to town and five minutes mining. Make losses affect you just as much as victory does. End result sounds like less raids, more focus on peaceful RP, and a very simple way to stop others from killing you. Killing them. It's not like anyone can just power-game out of it anymore; PVP default. #raises tiny umbrella to ward off the hail of disagreements. EDIT: Actually, if I think about it, why do 90% of ban reports start? Because X killed Y. Adding more weight to killing will make X try to kill Y less often, for fear of dying himself. Therefore, less ban reports? Or, you know, we could just stop being jerks to each other.
  14. You've not been reading. By annoying ****, I was referring to the OOC barriers. I don't like OOC barriers, or hiding behind rules. I don't even think the people doing it now, or the people who have done it in the past even liked it. It's very stressful, especially in consideration of the flak they receive when they do. The point is, players have been raiding so often and in such numbers that it comes to the point where things like OOC barriers the only available option. Keeping a city closed 24/7 isn't a great plan for engaging RP. It's suffocating, especially considering the High Elves, who are constantly low on people due to their closed door policy. Even then, under the rules anyone can still declare PVP inside said cities. What then? Do we expel them just because we don't like how they play OOC? Is that any way to bridge this gap? There is a solution to this, but it's not through rules, nor regulations. The solution is to stop hating each other so darn much. The real solution to all of this, people, is to stop being asses to each other.
  15. Conclave =/= Malinor. And they had to. As aforesaid, the only way to ACTUALLY stop raiders is to do annoying **** like that. I mean, seriously though, doesn't it matter to you, in some small way, that people hate the brand of roleplay you bring so vehemently? So much so that they are willing to twist the arms of the Staff and how they play on the server to avoid you completely? People are still people, just stereotyping them as one group doesn't solve anything. They have reasons for doing what they do, and in many ways they are perfectly justified for doing it. The Naturalistic fallacy of "I'm strong, your weak, therefore I'm right" does not apply on an OOC basis to LOTC. We're all on the same level outside the client server. Start treating people like it. That doesn't work on an RP server, unless you're actually recommending that we just ignore their RP until they go away. Edit: Even then, that's not a compromise for anyone. It's basically just saying: "You can have your RP default, but only if it's in a secluded, walled off city that throws people out for OOC reasons that don't fit the status quo. Everywhere else, well, that's PVP default yourminasoryourlifescrub."
  16. This just doesn't work. The players on the server have proven time and time again that they're perfectly fine with raiding someone constantly and repeatedly. Back when the Conclave was a thing, they were raided nearly 3, 4 times a day, unto the point where RP was impossible because of people who wanted to get their kicks stomping on the other kid's sandcastle, so to speak. Bullying a player until they leave is not what cooperative roleplay ing means. If a person can successfully ward off a raid, The raids don't stop. They will keep coming, again and again and again, as many times as they please, because, unfortunately for some, that is all they want to do on LOTC. The only incentive that beating off a raid provides is making them want to do it again with more men at a more opportune time. The sad, but true fact about raiders is that the only well-documented methods to get a raider to stop raiding is to either do some very BP-raising OOC bitching until the raiders are sick of you, or to complain to the staff until they impose a raid limit. Neither is really a preferable solution for anyone. Ever.
  17. It is clear that this criminal must be brought to Justice*.
  18. But thats what happened to the LAST DAMN MAGIC PLUGIN AND THE ONE BEFORE THAT
  19. Logged 10 items today in the beta server. 7 of them were magic related bugs, and unfortunately 3 exploits were unearthed.

  20. ((I will continue on this route until a GM tells me otherwise. In the MEANTIME, I suggest you all stop cluttering my thread with the bs, and PM me. Please. This thread isn't the place for playing mod-proxy.))
  21. Spendin all night looking for bugs and exploits for the next version *Hefts up iron exploit sword* "Looks like I have a good haul already"

    2. Moot

      Moot

      Do /ooc silly

  22. ((Let me put this simply. The End-point, end-all be-all of any argument here is that I'm going to do it anyways. If it makes you feel any better, I can do it regardless because said things were done when the character still being used by iseemoosego. I have full IC reasoning to give something like this to my /daughter/, a character fully fleshed out and RP'd, when I pass. It is not some random character, it's my progeny.))
  23. ((He's jelly because I want to keep alteration.)) ((Mind your own darn buisness SWGR, say something nice, say something RPly, or keep it to yourself.))
