  3. “I pine for a peace of history and in learning who I am, my pride and joy is so suddenly becoming of me. ahern ito k’leh, maelue heya maelue. Step trepidatious through the dark, underneath the foggy shade, from the cloud of unknowing, read onward. I hope to overhear, the need for me now that I know myself, I am an Okarir’maehr. Aiera Sullas, 1798 S.A.” [A poem, “okarir naelunan.”] Stepping into the Grand Lobby of San’evarir, before the stairwells leading to the Eternal Library and beyond, you can find many assorted forms and information piled onto the Main Desk, along with a few hefty letterboxes for incoming mail. Above them all, a notice was posted. “The Okarir’maehr, a dutiful position that, while having several names over the centuries, has persisted as the foremost guardian and overseer of the academics in Haelun’or. We are many, and the hope is that We represent the best and brightest scholars, not unlike the Maheral and their symbol of guidance to us all. Herein this bulletin one may find the resources necessary to become learned beyond one’s years, if time and patience permits it. This is also the appropriate place to address letters to the Okarir’maehr themselves, as well as any formal paperwork, namely applications to the various institutions of San’evarir.” {Artist} It follows that you scan the pamphlets available to you. Look no further than San’evarir, Protector of the Word. It is Haelun'orian tradition to be married upon a prominent space inside the Eternal Library, in this case the Arch, and outside of that Library is a plethora of space to be creative; San’evarir Theatre, already host to a few debates prior to writing. The Grand Lobby, a low-lit location perfect for display. Even the Eternal College, a grand venue at the highest point in Karinah'siol. All fine places to hold all manner of gatherings. A dramatic art installation, a one-night showing in the Theatre, debates, a knitting club; all are welcome underneath Our roof. 6. “Finally someone says something about it.” The Sullas matriarch comments on the new posting of interpersonal anguish, chortling to herself. “You know, before I took up my own mantle over Sullas, I spread handfuls of letters addressed to Lucion across the entire mainland of Arcas, even though he hadn’t been spotted in elcihi in decades, if not a century or longer. When he answered, I rightfully acquired my authority and so I brandish it with only the most sincere and determined desire for prosperity within my Talonnii. That is how it is done.” Her prattles concluded there to a likely bored audience of young scholars and distant relatives, but she did not pay any mind to restlessness, supping on some flavorful fresh water with sliced fruit infusing it.
  7. "Who?" T'was Aiera Sullas' first question when Maenor arrived with his resounding statement, the elfess leering o'er her coworker's shoulder after he approached. "They're running for Okarir? That is.. Supremely odd. The Eternal Library is a mess, I wouldn't want to hold any thing on that floor for worry of folks tripping on the stacks of tomes being sorted." From then on she swallows any other comments, her disgruntled brows drawing in to ruminate on this sudden scheduling.
  8. At first as Aiera Sullas read o’er the sharp edge of her specs, her eyes narrowed in contempt- Too many had been lost. Why did they do this thing? Leave their children and sometimes spouses? Somewhere in the matriarch’s black heart a pang hit her frame, but she shook it off before it surfaced, uttering upwards to Maenor Aildhuin whom was no doubt in the vicinity; as he often was for any regular gossip, and particularly when she reached a minor error like this one. “So this is why her son is illiterate. I am always surprised when I see this one. Almost as bad as Mr. Dagre’sae getting the last bloody ‘nor’s very gender wrong.” The middle aged thing lifts an apple to her jaw, part of her lunch, a harsh sound emitting as she rendered the fruit and kept on scanning her copy of Lorelei’s Leave. Eventually she reached something a little harder to swallow. Lei. There was a time, maybe fateful, that Aiera recalled when Lei should have gone to Miravaris. Verily? Or if that had come to pass, wouldn’t she be feeling the sour old wound of abandonment? Is she not feeling that either way, as she’s felt it before? The woman pinches her nose. I’ve forgotten again, how long has it been..? And then her head bowed, Maenor with his readied quip able to see clearly when she faltered and did not respond, lifting out of her chair to stride away from the lunch to be cleaned up or otherwise and out of the San’evarir offices with an uttered goodbye. T’was time to find Lei.

  10. Aiera Sullas rubs her temples somewhere in the depths of San’evarir, reading the latest gossip over a tall cup of coffee and her plans for her family residence, scratching out placements for a floor plan until the drama became evident. “Hypocrites,” she utters under her breath, erasing a sofa and placing it on the other side of an imagined room.
  11. As an artist Kiki's Delivery Service always makes me super comfy as it deals with motivation and fairly obviously alludes to artistic motivation specifically. Also growing up which is topical too. Definitely the thing about lack of internal dialogue is notable about RP- You need to be able to have interactivity with your emote so it must be very physical, but I kind of like providing that mystery in my non-dialogue writing. Why'd my character sigh? Why'd she look away? The audience is reeling! Not so dramatic as that, but still. The fact of it inherently creating intrigue with the lacking presence of my character's internal thoughts is very cool to me sometimes. No 'tips' about that really, that's just how I think about it and figured I'd comment on that aspect too since ya mentioned it.
  12. Yeah, welcome!! Good luck to you. I main high elves now, but I was also a wood elf starter. Elves in general good. I'm sure you'll learn and grow quickly, it's really just about building a solid base for your character's interactions with the world. When I create personas I think a lot about how they'd react to mundane or even emotional things, as often my character's reaction to events will inform what they want to do about it. Less so than figuring out specific goals (but those are good too) I figure out who my person is and then they find opportunities through their traits and also gain new traits by exploring their own personality meeting with others. The change is something I welcome after I make someone new. May you continue to have a good time!
  13. "Ew. Just propose to him already, you're making me nauseous. I won't call you mother, how ever, let me get that straight right now." When Nuala brought up a certain Calith, Aiera recoiled, the Sullas' face flushing a shade darker as she used the pamphlet to fan herself of both the hot flash and the embarrassment. "I don't know why you hate Rhenaer, I actually think you two would get along more than you do with me, considering his bold political moves.. I am a moderate, not a 'loyalist' if that's what we're calling them now. I am flattered that you think I am the epitome of purity, though, and that settles my bowels from thinking about this as an inadvertent attempt to seduce my surrogate father." At this, the graying elfess wheezes and searches for some thing to occupy her hands once the cucumber sandwich had been done away with.
  14. "What do you mean Mrs. Telperion? Ikur Sullas quite literally challenged Acaele Lazul to become the Maheral and the Citizenry agreed. Against- You. You challenged Ikur Sullas to become the Maheral. We don't even know each other, Telperion- I'm busy and have a massive amount of work to do with trying to make an academics institution function without a base of established writing. Do you have any idea how hard it is to not be able to reference any other authors' works, because we have none to be cited? Absolutely not. You're insane." The Sullas matriarch follows up her communal tea with some cucumber sandwiches, nearly choking on a breadcrumb when the missive was brought forward to her, potentially by Nuala herself. A transcript of her exact words was posted under the notice.
  15. "Well, when I told him to stop hiding discontentment, I didn't expect that. I knew the boy wasn't as timid as he claims to be." As with most political arguments that have occurred in the recent years, Aiera Sullas sat casually with a group of peers, supping on some communal tea. What was next, flying impures?

  19. I just got off of a generic Adderall and this hits. I suppose this is the downside of being diagnosed early- It's harder to advocate for yourself when there's a problem. I will say I developed depression all on my own without the helpful assistance of bad meds, but I totally understand where you're coming from. While I was on my generic, every time we'd up the dose I'd start to get worse episodes. For a while I passed these off as my usual moods, but I thought it was too convenient that I suddenly became a morning person (I am not) and was some kind of angry self destructive gremlin at night. I just enjoyed waking up to normality. No one needs a reason to be depressed but that wasn't it, the sadness was so artificial. Basically all the anxiety I feel drinking caffeine, distilled until the end of my day for me to deal with. I was later told it can happen while it wears off, particularly in already anxious people. I had to do that dance for two months before it was unbearable, destroying my friendships and I couldn't continue. Years? Good lord you're made of some tough cookies. Sending you positive vibes.
  20. Oh man, hugely relate. I was diagnosed early this year.... Just before quarantine, brilliant. Inattentives unite, just because we're not as messy as PH/I's doesn't mean we aren't a mess. The only thing I'll say is that you made getting help sound a little more complicated than it is IMO. For me, treatment was about my parent concluding that I had a problem, and needed therapy. I'm a bit younger than you. I went into therapy a few years ago; I essentially determined for myself that I had ADHD, on accident after relating a bit too hard to a few personal stories, and had my therapist evaluate me whereupon I have been on my clinical treatment path for most of this year. Regardless of that part of my life affecting my mental health, even unmedicated therapy in general has really been that uncomfortable, little shove off the cliff into mindfulness and betterment. The key is indeed just doing it, but for me it was psychiatrist second, therapist first. I didn't really need to go in expecting a diagnosis to just air my dirty laundry, and work out my problems with another person who is a professional and could actually help me. Granted, certain more severe (ADHD is a slow, contemplative killer.......) mental conditions are obviously best diagnosed first thing. I was never too close to being permanently injured (mentally or physically) so it was less important that I know exactly what I'm dealing with, and I have no doubt my therapist already had an inkling though wanted to let me decide on my own how to proceed.
  21. It feels so nostalgic to be checking a Urara diary and giggling about the gossip and the fact my character was mentioned 😭 But I must set the record straight.... Celestine acquired a pin, you lousy freeloaders have to ask her to get you books, or get your own library cards!!!
  22. my cooling unit, after its predecessor mysteriously died in a tragic accident following the installation of my newest GPU.. is brand new! my RTX and I are ready..
  23. FDGJNFDSJN my unfinished fresco OH NO I mean- my beautiful, well planned, polished fresco with the cute boats..... Also, Tresh. Buddy. How are the lanterns swinging. Tell me, I need to download it. edit: i was told this is not a normal mod and now i am angry. my library will console me. 😭
  24. Just doing my part with question and answering along with the other two real quick, wanted to leave the rest of your points to others, but this isn’t actually restricting beliefs as far as I know; no doubt it’s an important part of the grieving process to be in denial and bargain. Rather, Kha’ will vaguely know of Metzli being dead. This doesn’t prevent any character from not believing that(or caring for that matter, if they want to be rebels), and even if they do from peer pressure or concrete evidence, praying for her revival one day although it may never arrive. The answer is it doesn’t matter, the redline is more limiting what new Kha’ know about just exactly how dead she is, how her death occurred. Because that would be a little meta, and unfairly earned without proper RP done to know. (oh and quick edit, we appreciate the constructive feedback! even though several people were reviewing this including myself as it was written, the only real way to test it is put it out there to the public obviously)
  25. @AlaricGrimgold That is not the redline. I almost told Benbo that too, but I realized it was specific enough to say “-dye their fur as a workaround to creating a Tlatlanni” which cannot be construed as simply dying parts of hair any color. Because that’s not what that is, dying to become Tlatlanni would require a Kha’ to completely bleach their whole coat and then keep bleaching it to maintain it. Which is not what say, adding some sick blue highlights to your Cheetrah is doing. Anyway, I kept forgetting to tell @Wretched how mind-boggling it was that he kind of just dropped this, when something of this length (even if it’s a moderate length that is succinct about its information) would take me WEEKS, and I am in complete awe. I was also extremely honored to input my various thoughts about wording and redlines, but must point out that they were nitpicky. Which is a good thing, if I have to reach to give suggestions about one or two sentences it’s probably a good piece. Thanks so much you wonderful beast. Here’s to the culture post down the line. 🍻
