  1. As for my part, I attempted to moderate this situation the best I could as the leader of the realm system. My Discord is KaiserThoren Any and all are free to message me if you have questions on this topic, or realms in general. I try to be fairly open to the community on my decisions and thought process and these things. Overall I think this is the best example as to why staff should not be dealing with nations they are involved with, and I am happy for this change.
  2. I actually agree with this take. I've considered several times giving my decision making powers over anything regarding Numendil (the place I roleplay) to another entity. I never really have had to on any serious issues, and I don't think anyone has leveraged the realm system has been abused in favr of Numendil (their resources suck next map haha), but it's moreso the principle of the thing. If you roleplay significantly in a nation, help lead the nation, or have a group attached to a nation, you should be barred from dealing with rules/systems that OOCly come up in relation to that specific nation. Too much conflict of interest.

I cannot speak on any alleged harassment that the Vansk community has faced, either as an independent nation or to when they were subset of Norland, however, I do run the realms system and I just want to put in my 2 cents around Vansk. This is neither in support of nor against any side, just my own context. 1) I accepted Vansk as a nation. At no point did anyone pressure me to not accept Vansk from inside the Norland community. In fact many even said to me during the voting period that he would prefer Vansk get a fair deal, same as any other nation. The only dissenting voices I got were from people outside Norland who felt the Vansk community was not unique or would just fail outright. 2) I did tell the Vansk NL that they should prepare for or even expect a war. This was just a bit of advice, and wasn't reflective of OOC info, I just think all independent nations should have an army. This was also because of the blatantly obvious RP implications of their history with Norland. 3) Nobody on the Imp team really expected Vansk to survive due to the roleplay climate of wars + their history with Norland + being a relatively nonmartial playerbase. Those of us who supported and pushed through Vansk's app mostly were just hoping to be wrong. I bring this up because I want to say, even if Vansk was not OOCly targeted (Not saying it was or was not!), it most likely would have had the same fate via RP. Therefor the war/death of Vansk itself isn't a sign of some scheme against them, and it's wrong to claim the war is unjustified The following is a personal opinion now, rather than anything: The Norland/Solgaard/Etc community can at times be extremely rude, crude, and lewd (it rhymes). It really is not uncommon for some pretty NSFW jokes or words to be flung in that community, and it is really not uncommon that that is seen in other communities. I am not saying this is good or bad, or should be regulated or not. But that community is pretty, uh, aggressive? Meanwhile the Vansk-esque community is extremely prudish and delicate from my experience. That also is not a judgement or insult. My point is that I think a decent chunk of this is people with a more fragile sensibilities coming into contact with people who are more thick skinned and brutish. For example... who cares if Elrith was drunk? What an extremely soft thing to become overly upset about. Or half of these pics are pretty clearly jokes, or so overtly banter. I haven't looked over every screenshot or post, but, c'mon... Orlanth saying they're goons? Shadowz dogging on a build? These are very petty.

  5. The First Oathing Within Eldalondë In the Almenodrim Citadel of Eldalondë, the Elves gather for an ancient ritual. The Oathing of a true Elf of the Almenodrim -- the branding of the Oathring upon their finger. A glorious occasion, especially due to this being the first in many ages, and the first within the walls of this new found fortress-city. ✦───────────────────── ✧⋅ ҉ ⋅✧ ────────────────────✦ With great honor, my own sister, Elenwë Sylvaeri, bowed before myself, and recited the Oath. The very same that the sons of Sylvaen swore to Prince Aegnor, and Prince Aegnor to them. As the redband, hot from the forge, touched her finger, I struck upon it with my hammer. Forming it, and molding it to forever clasp upon her digit, and she spoke aloud our ancient Oath. The Oath which binds all Almenodrim to the bloodline, to the culture, and to an ideal far above themselves. “ On the blood of my forefathers, and the blood of my kin, No shadow will cast, no darkness shall mar By guidance of stars, by the blood of the crown, Though friends turn foe, though the last song fades, I Swear to it eternal, I will carry the light, Unto even a new dawn, and for all of Elvenesse. “ This ceremony is both Elenwë Sylvaeri’s moment to shine brightly amongst all the other stars of the night sky, but is also a beginning. A beginning, not just for her, but for all the descendants of Sylvaen, and all Almenodrim, truly. Once again swear our Oaths, and teach our children the true ways of Malin. Soon, a silver ring will be adorned to every Elf, a symbol of their culture and commitment to each other. Soon all shall see the bands, and know we are Almenodrim. ✦───────────────────── ✧⋅ ҉ ⋅✧ ────────────────────✦ Crown Prince Tarufinwë Sylvaeri son of Curufinwë, son of Fëanor, son of Belestram, son of Renarion, son of Eleron, son of Aegnor, son of Sylvaen, firstborn son of Malin.

  7. The Return To A Home, Long Lost On this day, the band of Almenodrim under my care, who have gathered in the many recent weeks, ventured forth into an ancient Citadel of our long lost ancestors. Months of work has led us to dispel an illusion, crafted by old sorcery now unknown, and reveal to us this fortress which once housed the origins of our people. ✦───────────────────── ✧⋅ ҉ ⋅✧ ────────────────────✦ I, Prince Tarufinwë Sylvaeri, along with my sister Elenwë, and our stalwart companion Vairë Telemnar, shepherded our group inwards into the dark embrace of this forgotten fortress. Inside, one of our faithful compatriots, a young Elfess named Ciradyl, lit the way for us, and shone upon the old stones and bricks pure candlelight, which had not graced these halls for many centuries. Seaglass murals of our history, some known and some unknown, scatter these ruins. The stonework, the art, and every wall and floor and statue was undeniably our own peoples. And yet, just as hit had been hidden, it has been preserved. Long stowed away by magics, it felt as though only a few years had past this place by, rather than millennia. Yet still, we are challenged by the darkness. Giant spiders, greater than one could ever imagine, lurked in these rooms. Yet against the blades of young Celiasil, Ingwën, and Ciradyl, no hope existed for those dreadful creatures. Slain to the last, our home was reclaimed. Old, yes, and in need of both repair and refurbishment - and of more souls who wish to come and make it their home too. So come, all you Elves who wish to carve out a new home! Come all who wish to become Almenodrim, or wish to know what this term means! Come all those who have scattered to the winds, and lost your culture and blood, and come back to us and say again that you are Almenodrim! Come who wish to put your fingerprints onto this place and call it yours as well as my own! Come and seek out Prince Tarufinwë Sylvaeri!
  8. Tile sizes will be bigger. They'll be more around landmarks and barriers. The map itself is smaller than Aevos. As of this moment we're not planning on changing tile requirements for activity or money, so you will be paying the same but getting more bang for your buck. Minas are not deflated, I am unsure what data you're sourcing. But beyond that, there are no new sinks being implemented anyhow.
  9. Hello all As of now, all new Realm Apps, as well as Lair Apps, are closed. As we grow closer to the new map’s release the Implementation Team has decided it is better we halt the creation of any more nations for this map. Soon shall be The Gauntlet. This is the process by which nations decide where they’re going on the next map. Let me explain how that works… First, ‘Brackets’. Based on the activity of the four weeks previous to the announcement of the new map, we have gathered together and ranked every nation, from most active to least active, on average. Activity past the announcement will not matter, only the weeks previous to the announcement. From this data, we will separate the nations into four brackets. The first bracket will be the nations with the highest activity, and most closer together in their percentage. Then the second bracket will be the next grouping with the closest percentages to each other, and so on. The map is at the stage where we will begin showing it to each nation (NL + a few ROs or Builders), who will have about a week to fly around and explore the map to scout out a specific spot. When this exploration period is over, the first bracket will (with me holding their hands) decide on the locations for their capitals. The nations within the brackets will finalize choices together, so they must come to a consensus not to take the same tile as another nation. When this is done, the second bracket will choose their capital tiles, then the third bracket, then the fourth. When this is done, the first bracket may choose their remaining tiles. Then the second bracket, etc etc. Where are you in this bracket? Well, I will be contacting each NL soon, and you’ll find out. A few things to note: If you get conquered before we transition that means you don’t transfer, obviously. Until then, we will act as though you will transfer. Vansk, the newest nation to Aevos, will be in the lowest bracket by themselves. As they were just created, we do not have data on activity for them, therefore they will go last. Nations will be able to indebt themselves to us (and the TaxMonkey!) to pre-purchase extra tiles, similar to Aevos. That means that vassals and their builds may exist on day one of the new map. However, which vassals, and where they go, is completely up to the NLs. More information on how many tiles each nation will get for free, the limit on pre-purchases, and costs will be given out during the Gauntlet. Lairs will be choosing their location with our good ST Admin Squakhawk. Lair selection will all be done in their own bracket following nation selection, with locations picked via first-come, first-serve. Lairs going to the next map have been determined already by the ST. Lairs cannot be within nation tiles, or on the same tile as another lair: Lichtenwald Tor’praeth Mul’naar Black Sepulchre Lairs which have applied but not yet been accepted/denied (Blighted Crypts, Mivtahza Insurgent) will be automatically grandfathered to the next map should they be accepted, similar to Black Sepulchre. Lairs which are not transferring to next map include: Serpent (inactive) Belvedere (destroyed/inactive) Lumbridge (destroyed) Mothergrove (inactive) Conclave of Whispers (inactive) Skjoldenhold (inactive) Inactivity refers to having less than Lair’s already lax monitoring and requirement on roleplay or usage of the lair and is indistinguishable from passive tile activity from even the most remote spots on the map. If you happen to want to make a realm in the new world, the Realm Apps will be open one month after launch. -10.0 Map Dev Team + Implementation Team ❤️
  10. Red Star Over Celia'nor I have long stood atop the White Tower in Numenost, and look out beyond to Aevos. The twinkle of the farthest lights of Celia’nor looked as if stars on the horizon - a fitting thought, given the peoples ubiquitous use of stars. Now those fires grow dim, or extinguished altogether. The Ibarellans are seemingly unable to steward their people. Neither away from a war, nor through one, as has been seen. It seems they walked into the viper’s pit. Now a human controls the lands, an odd sort of events. Your Princely figures abandoned their people, and their duty - For the crown is heavy as it sits on the brow. To be a Prince is a burden, not a luxury. A crown is not worn so as to be fawned over, and brought goblets of wine. Nor is it to be called upon by a lofty title, given reverence at balls and parties, and by foreign and domestic folk alike. To wear a crown is to be a shepherd of the flock, with dirtied hands, and keen eyes. I cannot claim to know the right path forward for those Elves who live within the lands which were once Celia’nor, though I may share my own thoughts. For where one stands, he or she may trace back every footprint that leads them there. Ever step is a choice, each, until you end where your feet are planted. I am Prince Tarufinwë Sylvaeri. I am the firstborn of Curufinwë Sylvaeri, and such the line of firstborn sons back to King Malin. By rights, I am Prince to all Elves - But I wish mostly to be a good friend and host to all Elves who wish to build something upon the stones of this world. Something not seen since Malin himself. I believe that to some who read this, those of good heart, and those of good strength, will find their feet guide them to Numenost. Tar Anorhil, my friend, has gracious encouraged me to draw upon the Elves of this world. So if you wish to be my brother, come, for all who say ‘I am your brother’ shall be so. So if you wish to be led, and not ruled, come, for there is a burden upon the crown I wear. So if you wish to leave the Starlands, and yet wish not the Wood Elven forest, nor the Silver City, come, and a new home you may find… Crown Prince to Malin, Tarufinwë Sylvaeri of the Great House Sylvaeri

  13. Just to make few points that I think make your argument invalid: 1) Not every donation tier has that money still around. I became Aether in... 2016? That money isn't sitting in a vault, it's used mostly to just pay server costs. So you can't look at all the colors and say "We have X amounts" 2) Some VIPs are gifts. Not every VIP is given via hard cash. They're gifted for staff actions, contests, etc. 3) Some VIPs are bought on sale. Not a big point but another example why you can't total everything together 4) Costs go to hardware and expenses. No one on tech gets paid cash. Not even me and Kowaman. No staff member really sees the money minus Tythus, who is not involed directly in the server's day-to-day busy work. This is a good thing, honestly, you want someone who controls the coinpurse to be uninvolved with the drama and biases. 5) Paying any staff member sets a very bad precedent and has so many strings attached it is arguably a bad idea in and of itself 6) You cannot just "buy" a plugin that makes warclaims work This whole post boils down to "We have money so why do warclaims suck?" and honestly that's only one piece of the puzzle, arguably the least important, and the most being fixed anyways. We're doing a hardware upgrade. We've been doing one for a while now. The real truth is minecraft isn't built for 400 man fights. It wasn't designed for it at it's core. Some servers do make big fights work, and we should work towards emulating that, but none of this is a simple "Buy warclaim server only $99.99!" at walmart. Very little transparency to give. Money goes in an account and pays for expenses.
