Can someone explain what 'edge' or 'edginess' means. I honestly have no idea what it is.

It has no set meaning. It's changed with the times, and different groups/individuals perception of it. If anything I would say it's a concept, or a made up word. But the closest term would be dodgy.

On LotC it's a term used to insult another player about their character without really wanting to get in trouble for insulting another player.
