  1. Well it's more of what you define magic as. This is 'magical' but isn't a magic in how we define standard magic. Normally with magic you start lower leveled only being able to do a small amount of things, and then slowly gaining in strength and manipulation or abilities. Though this does use mana to actually become enlightened, and is more fantasy based, and spiritually influenced. In this you gain magical abilities, but instead not in the traditional sense of slowly learning your magic subtype and gaining strength and using your mana pool like a muscle to be able to do greater feats in the ability. So in one sense you can say it's magic, but it is more in the eye of the beholder. I could get super technical with this though, but not to spoil the idea of the ability, I am going to leave it like this. Perhaps you could reconsider though? I believe it'd be really fun to be able to bring others along to meditate with you, and be able to do a plethora of different things with, from quest giving, training, or to simply do a mini event of sorts. Though in the end it's the choice of the LM's :P I just ask to possibly reconsider the ability.
  2. Seeing as the flora fauna and bestiary lore was denied. I guess I am not going to continue the series. As it seems LM's dun want it! Sorry for those who were waiting, and wanting their regions added. I may continue it, if the region lore is accepted or I am able to speak with an LM about it.

  3. Alright! Also, would I be able to get the reasoning exactly why we would be unable to bring others along to meditate with us? Because for the most part, I removed all the ways someone could use it to power game, having no pain felt, it having to be consensual, and the others having some minor ability to shape in the world. Just curious as to the Lm's reasons for it, and possible way to change it as that's part of the defining features of this and something that'd be pretty fun to bring RP out of this.
  4. I somewhat agree with Lima with this, opening up a bunch of no name aenguldaemons is basically just a train wreck waiting to happen. Look at the server Uthrandir where they have server lore attributed to different gods that grant them specific powers, that somewhat work in accordance to their magic plugin. It is a cool concept on paper but just seems sloppy and lazy on the lore making side. Personally though, i'd rather see the change in magic happen perhaps from another source entirely besides using aengudaemons, an idea I put in that my character believes he uses (Which is actually the void) and he had gotten a few of his students to believe is that some mages cast from their souls themselves though it's rather ambiguous so it's not a very good point. I would like some form of events to be put in the explain the changes in game, like perhaps something where all the mages can feel. A shudder in the void, opening a giant hollows, or void node, and playing off of that besides using the aengul fail save.. I doubt you had these intentions in mind though so it's not really a big deal. But I would much rather see more thought into the way magic is being changed it would be more dynamic and frankly more RP for mages and everyone who wants to join in. If that were the case.
  5. Since this lore is still up to reply to, just wanted to say I disagree with this personally and so have the majority of people who have seen the post. The potion may be powerful, but it really is more whimsical than anything, as the RP and time it lasts is up to the person actually consuming it as to how long it last. It provides no positive aspects to it really that can actually help the person drinking it. And at the same time, you can say a person may abuse the recipe and turn everyone into mini people, but so can most things on this server be abused.. I personally would ask this idea to be reconsidered, though at the end of the day. I am not an LM, nor are many of the others who have seen this lore and liked it, or disliked it. But even still, the abuse of this is more a what if situation than what would most likely happen. The only thing I can really see to balance it is say. The person who drinks it gains an immunity to the potion after one or two uses. And either requires a higher tier recipe, or simply have no way to reverse it.
  6. Okay settle down now, this is a lore thread. Don't need to make snide comments.
  7. Wasn't going off :P just replied to what you said. Since the magics you said are basically the same, aren't all too similar. Regardless though, I do agree that shades really aren't all too evil and there isn't much of a point to fight them which is the part I was against about the lore.
  8. Itharel are (Least from what I believe) are clerics with a boost in power who had to lose their general emotions to gain the power as chosen ones of Tahariae. This entails originally learning things like holy flames. But making tendrils of light is just another thing any cleric can do, cause they are shaping holy light around, same with Mist of Xan though that is a bit more obscure since there isn't any real lore you can find on the forums about them. Besides that though Clerics are unable to actually do much with their holy weapons besides combatively and against corrupted creatures. Just going to say that, since I like some ideas in the lore as well as dislike other points people made with inaccuracies. The only other thing I would say is to look at Jistumas post about the situation with WIP lore if you haven't already https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/121126-situation-on-wip-lore-ieas/ just as a heads up for later on when or if you choose to continue further.
  9. 10. Not one hundred percent certain about the Scaddernaks I looked up the lore, but know they are rare that's why they are extremely rare. Though, if there are 2 or three prowling about it'd be pretty cool to have orcs may choose to tame them or let them take their natural course. As if there was only one wild scaddernak in the entire realm of Athera speaking realistically like size distance etc. There would be no other scaddernaks for it to mate with. And it would eventually die out and the scaddernaks would just be extinct.
  11. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/121307-atheran-wildlife-deus-proditor-flora-fauna-and-bestiary/ If you ever wanted to know wildlife, monsters, and plants of Deus Proditor, check it out! Vote to see where we go next
  12. Atheran Wildlife Flora, Fauna, Bestiary Deus Proditor Land: Flora- Plant Life Fauna- Wildlife/Animals Monsters- Monsters/Oddities Marine: Normal Sea Creatures- Normal animals that live in the ocean nearby Sea Monsters- Monsters/Oddities that live in the ocean nearby Fauna Deus Proditor is a desolate land mass in the open seas of Athera comprised entirely of hot sands, it was once a prospering land, with a rich civilization though due to an unknown cataclysm the entirety of the continents life was destroyed. Some say by meteors, others by magic, and others say by the folly of the people themselves. Though much is unknown some say that the dead walk the desolate sands in hordes of men women and children dressed in odd tattered garbs. What is known though, is that it is recommended /never/ to travel there. Especially alone. Jackal [Common] - A medium-sized carnivore with doglike features and a bushy tail, is widely distributed in these lands. They are sly creatures able to pick off dead, or dying small animals. Their normal prey though are birds, mouse, small rodents, and snakes. Not much is known about these creatures besides that they held a significant standing in the civilization of old Athera, being in numerous glyphs, and drawings within the ruins of the land. As well various statues are scattered about of humanoid figures clad in gold, though instead of a normal face it is that of a Jackal Desert Snakes [Common]- A variety of different snakes, they normally have a beige or yellowish gold scale pattern to use as camouflage against predators and prey. There are numerous types, from Cobras, small slender snakes, Most are within the bounds of 1-5 feet in length. Though, be wary for many of the snakes of the desert are poisonous, poisons that can kill from a half an elven hour to a few days. They can be told by their varying scale colors, and tend to have rounder heads their bites less painful than non poisonous types. Scaddernak [Extremely Rare]- Scaddernaks are huge, dark creatures that resemble a mix of spider and scorpion with eight legs and a giant pincer. hey have two claws bigger than an entire Orc and enough strength to smash down a fort in seconds. They are usually black or sandy coloured. These powerful creatures have thick skin, and pinsirs that constrict with enough force to dent or even crush iron armors. Crabs [Common]- Both Giant crabs and normal crabs, they tend to prowl the coasts of this great landmass. Due to lack of food around the area they tend to be on the more slender side, though far quicker than standard crabs, or giant crabs. Being able to move their warhammer like pincers with great speed and efficiency, due to this it is recommended not to take them on, as their meat spoils quickly, their eggs are what makes a good meal, being large, and fleshy giving a decent meat yield. Lupus Land Dragon [uncommon]- Slender lizards, much different from their Desert Drake relatives, they stand about a foot off the ground, and can grow from 5-7 feet long, most of the length coming from their tails they use for balance. Though they have a leathery skin, and no wings. They can spring up to 15 mph at full stride, and the bite from their powerful jaws can prove fatal, easily tearing through flesh and bones. (Essentially a Komodo Dragon) Camel [uncommon]- These are gentle animal, is a long necked creature with fur similar to that of thinner sheep wool. They come in varying sizes, though the feature that every camel has is the large lumps atop their backs where they store water and fluids so they may traverse the desert with minimal amounts of drinks. Many, have been found in ancient tomes to have been a prime animal used as transportation, to traverse the deserts. They are very nurturing of their young, though have not much defense besides their powerful legs. Mongoose [Common]- These sleek creatures have long bodies with short legs and tapered snouts. They normally have brown or gray grizzled fur, and a number of species sport striped coats or ringed tails. Mongooses live in burrows and are nondiscriminatory predators, feeding on small animals such as rodents, birds, reptiles, frogs, insects, and worms. It is the symbol of the followers of Aeriel, a holy creature for many, though surprisingly are able to survive in these harsh climates with no problem, leading some believers, to speculate a divine intervention lending protection to these beautiful creatures. Bulbus Ant [Common]- A common sight around the deserts of Deus Proditor, this creature is easily distinguished by the large red bulb protruding from its back, used to hold toxins, and liquids poisonous to most other creatures, it is used as a final defense mechanism to protect the colony, committing suicide by sacrificing itself to be eaten where the toxins from the ants bulb quickly takes effect shutting down the creatures organs and immune system killing whatever small animal it is eaten by in a matter of minutes, and to be easy pickings by the rest of the colony. Though, it should be of note this poison can be harvested but due to the distance from civilization and its quickness to spoil. Once taken in a large enough quantity for a human to consume the most it would do is give a stomach ache, and perhaps diarrhea. Gurrakagh [Common]- A large bald headed vulture, it has a wrinkled neck and body that is hairless. With a wingspan of about 2 meters, and jet black fur it is a true scavenger. It traverses the low skies of the desert all day searching for prey, or dead animals. And when it does it swoops down with its mighty talons to ****** the prey and bring it back to its roost to eat. Or if it is a larger creature, normally eating a large portion to make its stomach full, then returns to its nest vomiting the large clumps of meat for either later consumption, or to feed its young. Rarely though does this creature tend to attack other living creatures, and lives at high rocky cliffs, in the mountainous regions of the Deus Proditor. Monsters The Basilisk [unknown]- The king of serpents. The Basilisk is a giant serpentine creature with jagged teeth as long as arms, this great beast with bluish-green, and blackened scales. They say this creature lives on the eastern parts of the continent and has some dominance over the snake population in the region. Though not much is known about it as there are only cases recorded there, and too many are afraid to step foot on this island let alone that region. Though, it is said that the creature itself reaches a length in cases from 20 feet long to 30 feet. Though not enough is known about it to even be certain. The Dead [ Moderately Common]- A nickname given to the undead men, women and children that walk the land mainly coming out at night though there are some able to withstand the suns rays. Not much is known about these creatures besides that they seem to be those that are from the civilization before that had a cataclysmic event that destroyed the entire island and turning many of its people into these zombies. They come in different shapes, sizes, and genders. From mummified people in ancient bandages covering their bodies, to completely bare of clothing, and even those in now rusted metals adorning their bodies from old jewels, to pristine looking golden bracelets un damages from time. Though they are generally mindless, it is recommended to stay away from them for where one is killed, it is almost certain to attract another, and another. Dust Wraiths/Revenants [Very Rare]- Both different, though similar enough to be categorized as the same. Due to the events that happened long ago, these creatures seemed to have formed from the undead, and survivors of the lands. Not like the normal necromantic creatures, instead these are formed from unknown causes and have lost their general sentience instead acting as murderous creatures of death and despair. Wraiths are very similar to the necromancy wraiths though instead unable to cast magics on a whim or think freely they are clad normally in thin armor and or black, tattered robes covering their decrepit bodies, and having black mist seeping from their crevices. Revenants on the other hand are a different batch, losing all sentience whatsoever and maintain a similar appearance, the only thing setting them apart is the ability to float atop the ground a few feet much like a ghost or graven but instead are able to physically change the world commonly attacking unsuspecting people with quick swoops, and slashes from their talon like hands. Apparitions [ Extremely Rare] - An amalgamation of souls of the past, these dark creatures hold immense, and dark powers within them. Far stronger than a wraith or zombie. These creatures are created from where many had died in the same place and their souls conjoining together to create an unnatural creature. The ancient apparitions that wander the continent are quite aggressive not commonly seeing the living. They are powerful enough even to have somehow command a small horde of the undead living on the land. From revenants, wraiths, and the standard zombies. Not much is known of them, besides that it is best to leave them alone, for they are formidable creatures that can easily slaughter a small party of adventurers looking for quick coin. Giant Jackal Statues [Rare]- These Jackal statues are monoliths of the past, made of fine jewels and odd molds from this prosperous people. Once standing as what seems to be guardians of temples to protect against attacks. They remain as they were commanded to protecting their temples from wanderers and aggressors. Not acting all the time as their activation seems to be random and only occurs by chance. If you are caught when these creations activate it is best to run. For they will not let up on complete onslaught having immense strength able to fling orcs with one swoop of their maces, and jewels priest accessories they seem to adorn. Wearing an ancient garb of old. Oddly enough they remain completely intact without any signs of rust. Cockatrice [Rare]- These creatures large birds of prey, with heads similar to that of what we would call a chicken, and then the body of a giant bird, or phoenix. These are normally passive monsters, unlike their Adrallan brethren these have a more rough, almost scaly wings, and odd, symbols made of a wood-like material that is set atop their head like a crown. With blue glowing eyes, they appear to be more menacing than they are, normally ignoring travelers, but if they are attacked they are a ferocious monster, acting with a stronger force, and armor like hide but are slower than their forest family in Adrallan. Desert Drake [Rare]- Land drakes, many ancient texts state they were once magnificent flying creatures, though have since shed their wings now having thick armor like scales that jet out of their bulky bodies. These giant lizards tend to appear in small groups of 2-4, their bodies normally size up to 10 -15 feet long with tall bulky bodies, and a powerful thick tail that have spines jetting out of the top of it for defense. They tend to have a more milky brown coloring to them, their main source of food are the undead that wander the lands aimlessly, or the larger game such as scaddernaks, giant crabs, or their smaller lizard brethren. Proditor Raptor [uncommon]- A giant lizard like creature, standing atop two bulky legs, with two much smaller front arms that have sharp claws attached to them. This scaly creature has very powerful skin and is a powerful predator of Deus Proditor. One of its’ more famous creatures and well known, having a plethora of stories after it, and having a long rasping roar that can be heard miles away. This creature with its giant maw can split, and crush almost anything it wraps around, be it the hull of a boat, an armored animal, it is even known to scoop up smaller animals and eat them whole. This is an apex predator, and considered the king of the desert. Though, the only defense they have is their poor eyesight and smell having to get very close to smell anything of note on objects. Because if that if you see this creature, do not run for it will outrun you, do not fight for it will eat you, the only thing you can do is stand still and pray no one in your group Flora (Due to the climate, and situation of the region, i’m limiting the plants to 6. For now atleast unless others have more ideas they wish to add.) Dankegh Cactus [Rare]- It’s the dank ****. A medium sized cactus with a rounded, bulb like top to it, it has various black spines protruding from around the main portion of the cactus that can easily puncture through skin, or simple garbs. Around the bottom portion of this cactus grows a miracle cannabis that can be harvested and dried. It has a powerful kick to it and is considered one of the strongest cactus green in the world, even stronger than many of the ‘natural’ orcish strains giving a powerful high that can last for quite a while, though it is easy to smoke, producing a smooth smoke that is easy on the lungs making it a decent incense. Though, because of this the cactus isn’t the best at storing liquids in fact, if one were to drink the juices on the inside they would find themselves throwing up a few minutes later, a dangerous thing in this wasteland lacking in water. Djinns’ Cactus [Moderately Common]- A beautiful cactus with a low rounded body like that of a watermelon, it grows in patches and has white spins littered across the surface of it, though for good reason as it protects the rich nectar on the inside. If you can get past the surface you would find a ripe cactus filled with a green juice, thick, and sweet it provides a refreshing meal, aswell as drink for those lost and low on food or water. Though, because of the juices and meat of the cactus it is aswell quite bad to eat in large quantities not good as a main source of water or used on an empty stomach. With prolonged use it may give the drinker a stomach ache, and produce minor hallucinations. Xir’uh Root [uncommon]- A medicinal root, most likely used by the people living here long ago, to treat simple ailments such as stomach aches, pains, and headaches. It is a light brown, golden color to it akin to that of the sand around, and has a hard surface that is impossible to break apart, and can must be cut open. When you get inside of the root though, there is a slightly softer though still hard, and damp meat, which when consumed heals the sicknesses said above, though can be mashed or liquids strained to get a more potent effect. It is a moderate earth symbol of fortitude for alchemical purposes. Jackals Tender [uncommon]- A small dry vine that normally grows around the oasis’ and beaches of the desert, though it may hold some liquids inside they are mostly brown, and spoiled unclean to eat. Though, the main use of this vine is the skin of it. Removing the bark like skin of the vine it seems to have been a notable incense of the people of old, and may still be used today working as a fine material to burn when dried out. It gives a sweet, cinnamon like smell when burnt the smoke very smooth making it easy on the nose, and safe around children. Soaptree [uncommon]- is a tall 10-18 foot plant with palm tree-like leaves. These leaves are at the base of the plant. They are very similar to those of a palm tree in the respect that the green leaves of the Soaptree Yucca are long and triangular shaped and are not wide. The stalk that shoots up from the leaves is a twig-thin stalk with small white flowers growing at the top. The reason it is called the Soaptree is because its’ main use is that as a natural soap to clean the body when bathing, as opposed to simply diving into a bath house, or in a lake. This tree allows a more thorough clean, and cleanly smell uncommon in this day in age. Nurse Plant [Moderately Common]- For a desert plant it has a short life-span, only 50 years. Its most significant function is as a "nurse plant" for other species. Because it prefers to grow in open, sunny areas, it is one of the first plants to populate an empty space too hot for other seedlings. Once it is established, it provides a microhabitat for the seedlings of other species and protects them from herbivores with its tangle of branches. In time the area becomes populated with many different species of desert plants. It has round cotton like spores along its thin stem, and it’s only uses besides to help other plants are, for alchemical purposes as a moderate air symbol, as well as it being able to be harvested and woven into fabrics. Sea/Water Animals Miracle Toad [Common in Oasis’ only]- Only appearing in the small oasis’ that are still clean within the giant sandbox we call Deus Proditor. It got its name for being a sign of miracle, as it is infact quite a miracle to find water in these lands, thought to be a sign of good luck by many. Though, not for them as the Miracle toad is quite a delicacy for weary travelers. Though, by removing its poison sack first as it is deadly to those who eat it,the toad can be prepared in many ways, but most commonly sprinkled with a few dry herbs around an oasis where it is found, and then cooked on open flame. It provides a nice invigorating kick, as it opens new possibilities to the palate with its oddly salty flavour. Though, sadly unable to be brought back ashore as the meat quickly rots and must be cooked a day or two after death or it will be spoiled, aswell it wouldn’t be wise to bring them out of the oasis and back ashore to Athera as that will as well kill them, their bodies are set specifically for the oasis’ mineral content and will be unable to survive elsewhere. Sandbank Squid [Common]- The name coined because the odd way any of these squids choose to die by beaching themselves. They live for prolonged periods of time able to live for hundreds of years, though may only give birth once in their lives expelling all their eggs when fertilized. Because of this many of these squids beach themselves after reaching a hundred or so, no longer do the squids have a reason to live anymore. An odd sight indeed as to why they do this, though it is not without fortune as it has been found the ink they produce to be one of the finest in the world, and provide a delectable treat for anyone who comes across it whilst fishing, it has a chewy texture, and tends to have a moderate salt content and because of it not being too salty it allows the true richness of its acute flavouring to be tasted when consumed. Moonfish [Very Rare]- Called the Moonfish for its blue hued scales, and its body which is shaped like that of a crescent moon. It produces a warm luminescence when it swims across the water and is indeed a beautiful fish to see able to achieve sizes of up to 6-7 feet in height from one tip of the crescent body to the other. It is rare enough to see them in the wild, and even rarer to be able to eat them as they are smart fish rarely breaking the surface but a few times even in their life, so the taste of it is unknown. But who would kill these beauties anyways? They are nearly extinct because of overfishing long ago before the descendants entered this realm. So not much is known of them. Naked Shark [Common]- A small shark, at most only able to achieve around 3-4 feet in length, it is said to be called the naked shark because of a tale saying tht the person who found it long ago gave it to a woman he liked as a gift, inwhich she was seduced by this gem at the time and bedded him that very moment, though but rumors it is considered luck for any man to find it, and even luckier if he is to bestow it upon an important lady in their heart. Though, besides that tale it has no notable features, looking like a standard shark, with jagged teeth, it’s common prey being smaller fish around their domains. Kings Urchin [Common]- A rounded sea urchin, with golden barbs protruding from its body, they are tipped with a poison that shoots into whatever creature it sticks into, having small barbs on the ends of the spines that latch onto the creature. The largest of most urchin in the region at about 2 feet in diameter, and 2 and a half if including the barbed spines. Normally found on coral reefs around the the continent though, because not many would dare eat urchins even the creatures of the sea, it is very prominent in these parts.. Better watch your step! Sandfish [Common]- A saltwater fish found all around the area near Deus Proditor, and only about 1 foot in length. Tt has been here for over 1000 years having various fossil records dug around Deus Proditor leaving some to believe that they used to live on deus proditor itself and that it may have had wetlands and deltas connecting to the ocean. True to its’ name, the sandfish is a sand colored fish easily camouflaging itself on the ocean floors as a bottom feeder, eating algae and other microorganisms. It is recommended not to eat as it has large sums of rocks, that are broken down into a chalky sand like material that lines much of the fishes body giving it a pungent taste that is very unappealing to the palette, though it is believed they use these rocks to crush up the larger things that they may eat such as smaller fish, worms, or plants. Sand Tiger Whale [somewhat Rare]- Found in the ocean about 3 miles offshore of Deus Proditor, these whales are smaller than their blue whale, or sperm whale counterparts though still in immense size normally reaching about 15-20 feet in length. This whale is a harmless one, sticking to small animals such as shrimps, small fish, and algae, it filter feeds through its thick bristle teeth, much like its relative Baleen whales, though these whales have a sand like leathery skin, with white stripes along its body like a tiger. They are powerful though gentle creatures, easily can they capsize a boat, as they travel colonies of 10-15. Though, their teeth are a rare item normally used as a brush for high class members of Athera being quite expensive. And their meat is supposed to be some of the finest in Athera. Sea Monsters Pleskana Delta [unknown]- The Pleskana Delta much like its’ Pleskana relative is a large reptilian sea creature They have the body of what could be seen as a large turtle without a shell complete with four flippers and a tail not to discount their large neck. Their scales are usually a shade of blue and are usually patterned to act either as camouflage. Though, unlike its’ relative it is far larger measuring at immense sizes with a head large enough to eat 1-2 humans in a single gulp. Not much is known about this creature besides the description and that they are far more aggressive, and seem to have more jagged fins leading some to believe that they are in fact unrelated but vastly similar looking. Kraken [unknown]- Believed to be a giant squid simply put, many have heard stories of these eldritch beings, snapping ships with but a twist of their tentacles and dragging the doomed sailors to their depths, though something that is unknown in fact. Is what exactly the body looks like, as the only people who are able to get close enough, are fated to drown in the depths by the mass of tentacles. Leading some skeptics to believe perhaps it is a different being, a spell summoned by a powerful warlock, or a sunken daemon in the physical realm taking these sailors as a sacrifice to satiate its’ fiendish desires. Thank you for reading, if you have any questions, think more creatures or plants should be added feel free to PM me and Shady_Tales or reply below. This is a post in our region lore series, which I hope to be used for better organization and to help fuel RP if people wish to go hunting, gather materials and so on. Fiandra will be the next region in our series so be sure to check it out. Aswell, look at this post here if you wish to vote for the next region! https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/121215-poll-atheran-flora-fauna-and-monsters/ -Booklight12 Possible to do: Pictures
  13. Also, if an LM or FM believe this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move this post. Though, I am hoping to keep this and the others in the series available for others to look at in case they need the information. Ps: Shreck lives in a marsh not swamp, (Nub) And Sand.. Well.. No Draakar my friend.. So sad.. :P
  14. I felt the need to write lore about this, I was in the writing mood when creating this, also something my character has studied somewhat. Though, also I wanted to get it known as opposed to keeping this idea to myself to let others try to join in and RP this state of being. As well, for joining in with cognitism or mental magic, though it is possible for it to become one if an Lm chooses, and may be possible within both magics I generally wanted to keep this away from void, or deity or other magical sources and make it more personal to the singular character that chooses to go through this ritual of heightening your state of consciousness. If it was in the void it would be restricted to those that know the magic, and must connect to the void while this is supposed to have a deeper spiritual meaning and my intentions were to make this not necessarily called a 'magic' ICly but more of a way of life. Also, if it were voidal magic it would be restricted only to void mages while I would prefer allowing everyone to join in on learning it if they find themselves interested in this idea. So a druid can do this, a cleric, necromancer (Though, it may be hard), even someone who hasn't ever tapped into the void such as a anti mage. Get me? Anyways, for the second point i'd imagine as you said their mind essentially wanders and is unreadable whilst in the higher state of meditation. Their bodies remain still in their position and it's similiar to shamanism where their conscious is not their but their physical body is. Anyways, not to make it confusing I will remain on track. Though, you must remember to get to this higher tier of meditation, the person must first make their spiritual connection, which persists continually.
  15. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/121247-atheran-wildlife-northwest-flora-fauna-bestiary/ First one finished *Phew* took over 1 hour of editing to work on lotc. Check it, Deus Proditor is next on the list.
  16. Atheran Wildlife Flora, Fauna, and Bestiary Northwest Athera By Booklight12 and Shady_Tales The following has been put together with lore from Lord of the Craft as well as created lore from Shady_Tales, and Bookligh12 in an attempt to best utilize the land in Athera.A lot of this was taken from existing lore. Most of these we don’t claim as our own and all belong to the respective creators that brought them to LOTC. Special thanks to Shady_Tales though, he made most of this and I don't want to claim the glory from his idea. I am but a loremaking slave, and writer. Fauna - Plantlife Monsters - Monsters/Oddities Flora - Animal Wildlife The second part will discuss marine life including sea monsters. Normal sea life Sea Monsters ______________________________________________________________________ The wildlife of Aesterwald - Aesterwald is a diverse Kingdom and composed of five significant biomes. Each will be discussed. The Northern Mountains This is the main part of Aesterwald where most of its settlements reside in - Vanderfell, the Barony of Blackwood, Nerezza, Old Hanseti and Casoria. A primarily mountainous region with high spruce trees and snowy peaks year round. The fauna has adapted to the cold climate but for the most part retain the aspects of any normal forest - rabbits, deer, ferrets, wolves. Unlike other mountainous regions, reptiles such as rattle snakes are near non existent save for sightings of a drake above Old Hanseti. The Hansetian Bear [somewhat Rare] - a solitary, territorial bear making its home in the caves around Northern Mountains. They are highly aggressive and are large in size, ranging from 8 to 9 feet in length. Because of their size, they need lots of territory for themselves which makes their numbers fairly low in the Northern Mountains. The Hansetian Boar [uncommon] - Hansetian boars travel together in a group known as ‘a sounder’. They have wooly coats and follow an alpha boar who is by far the biggest of the sounder. The alpha boars are a rare sight though as they are few sounders in the Northern Mountains. The Hansetian Boar reaches lengths of five feet in length but the alpha boar reaches seven feet in length and towers over the rest of the sounder. Domestication of the Hansetian Boar has been attempted but researchers are unsure of how the alpha boar reaches its size. The alpha boar is also difficult to kill because of the protection generally provided by the sounder. They are known to leave the Northern Mountains to nearby regions in search of food. Frederick’s Elk [uncommon] - Previously the ‘Northern Elk’ named after the First Konig of Aesterwald when spotted shortly after the landing from Thales, Frederick’s Elk stands at 50-60 inches tall at the shoulder and its rack of antlers grow to about 6 feet in length. Frederick (Jack) Rovin was said to have frequently went on hunts for this elk leading people to believe he laid a claim to them himself. Alabaster Seabird [Rare, Very rare outside Vanderfell] - Water fowl which is a common sight near the coast of Vanderfell and the neighboring mountains, the alabaster seabird feeds off fish and has a massive wingspan of 17 feet. Despite the size, they weigh only 30 pounds and live only up to 10 years in the wild. They reach 30 years in captivity. Adults are hard to train but hatchlings can be trained to be messenger birds. They are very smart but useless for combat. People commonly watch them dive into the water to hunt for fish. The Waldenian Eagle [Rare] - A black eagle that was adopted as the royal animal of Aesterwald. They are extremely rare, either due to their absence of color in the thick forests or because of hunting from previous inhabitants. The Waldenian Eagle is sometimes used for messages by the royal family. Hunting the bird is against the law due to its rarity. The Frost Troll [somewhat Rare] - sometimes friendly and helpful, other times violent and hungry. The Frost troll lives in caves during the day and goes out to hunt at night. Sunlight turns it to stone and trolls are sensitive to other forms of light such as light from clerics. Long exposure to fire light makes them uncomfortable. Habgotsnits [Common] - a lightly shaded grass that when squeezed, excretes juices that can numb the body. It can be smoked as well to get a “clarity high”. Autumn Crocus [somewhat Rare] - found at the tops of of the northern mountains in the mid summer to autumn time, the Autumn Crocus flower bulb when digested is poisonous causing nervous excitement and vomiting. Daphne [Very rare] - A plant that produces poisonous berries. A few can kill a young child and a handful can kill a grown man. Canyons of Eruthos Parts known as the “Abandoned Duchy of Polaris” and “No man’s land”, Eruthos is a desolate wasteland with sparse pockets of acacia trees along its river flowing through the canyon. Little thrives in this environment. It is said a heavy mining operation once took place here but it has long since been abandoned. Bighorn sheep [uncommon] - herds of sheep get by in Eruthos, living off shrubs and Acacia leaves. Male bighorns are territorial and tend to lead the herds. Males can grow big in size though exact measurements are rarely gathered due to the violent behavior of them. It is confirmed by the Order of the Black Eagle that these can indeed become corrupted and reach massive lengths. Harpies [uncommon] - Harpies are known for picking up and dropping their targets from great heights. Their nests are filled with human skulls. Blunt weapons best handle the brittle bodies of the harpy. Harpies are known to be very ugly with oily skin. This does not affect flight however. Their feathers can be used to make arrows. They have a lethal screech known to rupture eardrums. The Afflicted [Rare] - Usually humans but includes dwarves and elves. What makes them special is they are infected with the A’er disease which is a mental disease brought about from intentional cannibalism. Trolls, orcs, and kharajyr are immune. Humans have commonly gotten this during desperate times or eating Darkhaven Souse Stew, a House Winter recipe, ill prepared (The stew’s recipe asks for dark elf ears from a live dark elf. Sickness can be caused from eating ears off a corpse). Depending on the progress of the A’er disease, Afflicted sometimes kill each other and other adventurers. They are commonly hunted by Harpies. Vourukh [Common] - Giant birds of prey commonly living in hot climates. They are commonly mistaken by dragons or drakes for their leathery skin that resembles the scales of a dragon. They are a suprisingly social creature that live in a strict hierarchy akin to that of a wolf pack. When outstretched the Vourukhs powerful wings reach a length of 5 meters long. They are a predatory creature, and if they spot a good meal in their territories, they tend to attack with a mighty swoop. Though, due to their size and the numerous cracks in the canyon, it may be quite easy to evade them.. That is.. If you see them first. Limpwurt Root [Rare] - Found under acacia trees, limpwurt root helps build up the body faster when eaten raw after ingesting protein. Though the reason is unknown, in reality it speeds up protein synthesis which helps enhance lean muscle mass. Ingesting too much can cause minor poisoning. Greater Hanseti West of Old Hanseti is a mostly unexplored forest harboring towering mushrooms and large insects and other critters. Full documentation has yet to be made but giant grasshoppers, giant ants, and the infamous Das Ungetium which was a flesh worm, have been spotted. (This will be expanded on later). The Adunian Flesh Worm [Rare] - Commonly mistaken as the northerner flesh worm, the Adunian flesh worm is a rarer variant. They are less hostile and generally only attack when someone gets too close to their tunnels. They grab on to their prey with their mandibles to crush or sometimes use their body to crush a fleeing target. They grow to gigantic sizes surpassing the northerner flesh worm and feed off anything from living organisms to minerals and luminescent fungi in the earth. A particular flesh worm famous for devouring Prince Shaw Rovin was Das Ungetium Giant Insects [Common] - A common sight in these dastardly lands, many sightings tell of giant ants trampling their kids, or giant bees plaguing farmlands. It is highly reccommended to stay away from these creatures, they are known to be unable to commune with druids and it is stressed that you clear away if you see them. Though, they tend to have simple travel patterns akin to animals of their normal size, because of their sheer number and bulk, proves them dangerous. Kill one, 2 more come, kill the two, a dozen are in their place. Grefloots [Common] - found in the forests of Greater Hanseti, they resembles fungi but are spiral shaped plants that contain a deadly toxin. Small dosages cloud the mind and judgment while large doses cause fatal injury. To ‘milk’ grefloots, one would need a large upon of these to get the right doses. Bittercap Mushrooms [uncommon] - found only in Greater Hanseti, Bittercap mushrooms are used in cooking. Eaten raw they are very bitter but when cooked they lose their bitterness. They are often cooked with steak. Ayr Forests Once plains, the Ayr Forests also known as the Polarian Forests have given and taken life. Waldenian encroachment has created new dangers for both man and animal in the old plains. Ayr Forests see a variety of flora and have great conditions for farming. Off the coast of Ayr, fishermen have said there have been sightings of an aquatic dragon. Ayr Forests experiences heavy rainfall in the winter and is known to very humid at times. The Ayrian Fox [Common] - once more rare in the plains, The Ayrian Fox has become more abundant. It commonly hunts farmer livestock, preying mostly on chickens. The Ayrian Fox is revered for its beautiful dark orange fur and hated for being a nuisance to farmers. They are hunted for bounties and their pelts. The Vodnik [somewhat Rare] - Thought to have been zombies, they are dead corpses that had drowned and been made hosts to a specific parasite. Vodniks have sharp claws and knife like teeth and carry several sets of these teeth. Vodniks are blind but have very good sense of smell, touch, and hearing. They do not speak, they have gurgled howls. Upon death they hack up the parasite which swims back into the water in search of another host. The Vodnik can ignore severe injuries such as the loss of limbs, bleeding, poisoning, and falling from high places. Slimes/Oozes/Blobs [uncommon] - Non sentient creatures made of gelatinous substances, these three creatures are mainly spotted by locals, and are rarely aggressive though there are stories of these creatures attacking travelers, no deaths have been reported..Though recommended to stay away from them unless for research, as not much is known of them besides that they dislike fire. Night Sap [Common] - found on deformed growths on sturdy oak trees, night sap appears to be honey. It tastes amazing, reminding one of fond memories of past and fine meals. Near instant, the person who tastes the night sap is drifted into a deep sleep where they are whether that’s a stone, cold floor or a soft grassy bed. They have about three to five hours of good sleep with pleasant dreams only to wake up with a painful headache and inability to move oneself equal to the amount of sleep obtained. Night sap is highly addictive, especially to war veterans and those suffering from depression. It is used as a sedative during surgery usually. Sugar cane [Varies] - Sugar cane, after refinement, is made to use the sugar you use for baking and sweetening your tea. Sugar cane was discovered growing along the coasts of the Ayr forest far from the Northern Mountains due to the increase of temperature and heavy rainfall in the winter. Numbristle[Common] - A small leafy plant commonly found is more humid climates, it resembles that of poison ivy, though has more rounded tips as opposed to edges. These fine plants have commonly been used in medical use, and are more potent than those found in the Anthosian wilds. Commonly ingested for treating injuries it works as a sedative, with a few leaves being able to numb the body, with a large dosage, it has the abilities to make someone fall unconscious, which makes it especially popular with those who have sleeping disorders. Mandragora [Common] - This little plant is roughly shaped like a parsnip and tends to grow in wetlands. The plant is known for producing highly narcotic and hallucinatory spores. The spores are also highly toxic and death due to harvesting the plant while it is still in the spore production phase of its life can be fatal. When the plant reaches full maturity it releases the spores into the air around it. Two weeks after the spores are released is the plant safe for harvesting. The plant is fairly nutritious and provides a high amount of antioxidants, The leaves or “Head” of the Mandragora goes particularly well as a garnish for soups or tea’s. The “Meat” of the plant can be ground up and used for the creation of potions that revitalize the body and mind, as well as support Regeneration of damaged tissue. Karamjan Jungle When Frederick Rovin I laid claim to the jungles north of Vanderfell and Nerezza, struggling groups had already made their home in the jungle but quickly disappeared, perhaps dieing out from either A’er disease or the horrors that lurk in there. Today the jungle is rarely ventured into but holds many of the most important herbs Karamjan Boar [Common] - Similar to the Hansetian Boar, Karamjan boars travel in a sounder. They’re of a much smaller variety however and most boars do not reach lengths more than three feet with alpha boars reaching four. They have a very thin coat of fur and tend to have smaller tusks than the Hansetian Boar. Generally, these are considered pushovers. Without too many natural predators other than Leaf Apes, they are very common. Karamjan Ocelot [Common] - Karamjan ocelots are no different than other ocelots found in other jungles. They tend to hunt smaller creatures such as rodents, insects, and birds. Ocelots are solitary and highly territorial. They are hunted for their pelts but rarely eaten. Giant Apes [uncommon] - Normally passive creatures, they are giant apes growing to heights of 15-17 feet tall when full adults. They travel in small colonies and tend not to pay attention to travellers as long as they keep away from the main colony. They are organized well, with colony elders and other structures, commonly having a colony alpha which commands the rest of the apes. They cherish newborns with much care which is why they may be very dangerous if you get too close to their colonies. If you are found they will surely attack. Though, even though they are passive, they are commonly considered the disgusting bane of travellers, having a rare fungus growing in their buttoxs’. They have a tendency to scoop up travellers using them to pick at the fungus’ like a tool. Leaf Apes [uncommon] - dangerous small, wolf like creatures that use stones and sticks to maim prey. They try to aim for the neck and will strangle and bite at the throat. If unable to they will attack exposed flesh. They travel in packs, are agile and very aggressive. They reproduce relatively fast and common iron weapons do little against the leaf apes. Their bodies are quite durable. Some success has been noted using warhammers and pick axes. Atheros [Rare] - A white and brown root found under trees in the jungle.Used to relieve pain. Can be made into a potion, used raw, or as a rubbing solution. Rubbing Solution: Your base is Lard. Two cups of squeezed apple juice with a bit of oil, preferably fish oil. One juiced fruit smelling hop. A pinch of squeezed Salvus sweet roll that has been crumbled. Two Atheros Root. Age for one Saint’s hour. Drinking Potion: Your base is aqua vitae. Three fruit smelling hops. 4 Atheros roots. A few pinches of a squeezed salvus sweet roll that has crumbled. Age for two saint’s hours. King’s Ivy [uncommon] - A stimuli. Eating this raw spikes the senses and allows the consumer to remain alert much longer than they normally could. It is possible to overdose on this however, causing a heart attack. Grobsnopper [uncommon] - an herb that’s applied to wounds infected with bacteria. It’s described as soaking up bacteria with the herb itself wilting and taking the bacteria away from the wound. Multiple sessions are needed for large wounds. Found in clusters on the ground. Ape fungus [Very Rare] - The white fungus that grows in the buttox of the Giant apes of the Karamjan Jungles, it has a tendency to grow and multiply like a virus, they are white in nature with a mold like appearance, growing in clumps. These plants make great alchemical earth symbols though.. It is rare for the only way to acquire it is from the behinds of these giant apes. If smoked though it gives a extremely powerful psychedelic high, through some research and studies it is said that the tribes long ago used this fungus during ceremonies. For coming to age, where the boy or girl in the tribe smoked the fungus to go on a ‘spirit’ journey. Which is really only hte effects of the fungus putting the person in a comatose state for 1 hour- 1 day, it varies on dosage and purities. Rosary Pea [Very Rare] - EXTREMELY rare, the rosary pea is very poisonous and one seed can and will cause fatality if eaten by someone. Vanilla [Rare] - Vanilla is the only orchid out of hundreds of species that have an edible fruit. Vanilla fruit, also known as a sweet pod, is used to make vanilla spice which is used for flavoring in cooking and scents. Vanilla is popular amongst women to get rid of horrid odors. Vanilla is fairly rare. Cocoa Beans [uncommon] - Cocoa beans are bitter raw but after refinement they become relatively sweet and even more so when made with sugar. Used to make treats for children and adults alike. Marine Life Marine life in Aesterwald is as versatile at the wildlife on land is. Much of coastal Aesterwald depends on fishing to feed its people. The Piscatoris River, the Waldenian name for the River Ebunad, circles around the southern coast of Aesterwald, the northern coast of the heartland, and feeds into the Kaelor Seas south of Werdenburg. However, the use of river is incorrect for the most part. The river ends around the northern coast of the shire across from Vanderfell and feeds into a greater expanse of water that is more salty in nature. With this in mind, the name was given to the body of water based upon its geographical shape and not its composition. The Karamjan Shark [somewhat Rare] - An ocelot colored shark, the Karamjan Shark does not make for the best ambush hunter and is on the small side, reaching lengths of eight feet. It’s easily seen underwater due to its colors but their speeds are unmatched by the local life. Karamjan sharks are also known to hunt in frenzies and attack large creatures such as King Grey Whales. The Pygmy Grey Whale [somewhat Uncommon - varies] - Found in pods, pygmy grey whales are a small species of whale reaching to lengths of sixteen feet. There are times when they are non existent off the shores of Aesterwald and times where they are abundant, all dependent on their migration. They feed off plankton. King Grey Whale [Rare] - name derived from its size, the King Grey Whale reaches lengths of 70 feet. They sometimes go up the Piscatoris but because of their size they generally stay in the Kaelor Seas. The Waldenian Walrus [Too Common] - The Waldenian Walrus is surprisingly a very passive animal. It is admired by the Waldenian people as a care free animal. It is rather slow on land and oblivious to children playing on their backs. When the Waldenian people first settled in, walruses were beaten for their meat before agriculture was integrated into Vanderfell. Konig Voron Rovin after Frederick’s death took pity on the walruses and declared they were to be protected. It is illegal to hunt Waldenian walruses. Despite being peaceful, they are highly defensive when attacked by whales. They are found off the coasts of Vanderfell and Ayr. Monkfish [uncommon] - Monkfish are found solely between Vanderfell and the shire. They are a bottom feeder related to the monstrous angler fish in the Kaelor Seas. Most of the fish in inedible, only the tail and liver can be eaten. The rest tends to be used for chum. Monkfish are cannibalistic and eat almost anything they can fit into their large mouths. Mirror Carp [Common] - Though there are plenty of fish to eat between Casoria and Nerezza where a lake resides, the mirror carp is by far the most popular freshwater fish amongst the Waldenian people. It is commonly fried and during Saintsmas it is stuffed with spices and vegetables and served alongside a Waldenian Lager. The Mirror Carp gets its name for the reflective scales it has, albeit there are not many of them on its body. The Vander Crab [Common] -If allowed to grow, the Vander Crab reaches a carapace width of 18 inches! Its shell is extremely hard, only walruses being able to commonly eat the Vander Crab if the crab’s shell has soften from molting. Children are commonly hurt rough housing with fully grown Vander Crabs. Vander Crabs are common because they mate very often though VERY few make it to full adulthood. Vander Crabs are difficult to cook, so not many attempt to. They’re at times considered a pest by fishermen as they steal bait. If prepared by a seasoned chef however, Vander Crab can taste fairly decent. Albeit nothing is very spectacular and it tastes like your average crab so the trouble of cooking it may not be worth it. Vander Oyster [Common] - found in tide pools, the pier, and plastered on to rocks in shallow waters, the Vander Oyster is actually an invasive species that replaced the now nearly nonexistent blue mussel in Vanderfell. The Vander Oyster was originally the Pilgrim oyster that was commonly eaten by the Waldenians off the shores west of Tempum after their exodus from the capital.Brought over by boat unintentionally on the H.M.S Wilhelm, the Vander Oyster has replaced the native blue mussel’s role in the food chain. The Aquatic Dragon [Very Rare-Unknown] - Fishermen off the coast of Ayr have seen what they've explained as a swimming dragon leading those with knowledge of monsters to speculate it to be an aquatic dragon. These have been known to sink ships and devour sailors. Aquatic dragons interrupt species migrations as well. Thank you for reading, if you have any questions, think more creatures or plants should be added feel free to PM us or place below, this is the first post in our region lore series, which I hope to be used for better organization and to help fuel RP if people wish to go hunting, gather materials and so on. Deus Proditor will be the next region in our series so be sure to check it out. Aswell, look at this post here if you wish to vote for the next region after Deus Proditor to be picked for our series. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/121215-poll-atheran-flora-fauna-and-monsters/
  17. Indeed, this can somewhat be done via Cognitism, though not the detail of this. Rather than focusing on illusions like making an illusion ruler, or things to assist in calculations as Ptah described cognitism to me way back when. This is immersing yourself in a self created world, though I tried keeping it as that and not as a magic itself but rather something that can be achieved through meditation, though of course that isn't the only thing that the lore achieves it's two parts. So first you do this by making entering the state of mind, and then the next time you meditate essentially this is what happens. As opposed to self awareness, it's much like lucid dreaming. Though I purposefully left it somewhat ambiguous while still explaining the idea, so it can be perceived in different ways. And ultimately in the hands of the LM's what they wish to do with the lore. It can simply end up being an extension of cognitism (The second part of it even though i'm trying not to make it void based but rather come from yourself), a detailed illusion, or perhaps something more. Anyone ICly can see it as they wish really though so as not to restrict it entirely. The only things though is that it isn't physical, and when meditating you enter a sleep like state so you have no motor functions. While cognitists can still move and do things in their physical body.
  18. Conduits of Enlightenment Projection, dreams, what are they? How do we do these things? Why is it when we meditate sometimes we slip into a different state of sorts, what enables the feeling of bliss whilst we meditate. Whilst traversing the reaches of our realm, I have asked many people of different nationalities, beliefs, and lifestyles. Though, oddly enough there was a constant in many of who I Asked. Sages, Soothsayers,Wise, old, shamans and so forth. Many of what we in civilization would call these people stated a similar belief in that, it has to do with soul.. That when we meditate we project our own spirit and imprint it upon our world making it a mark that will forever remain.. Now, of course I was, and still am skeptical.. Though, I have learned many things of my recent endeavors these past few years.. Something I have been searching for, for a plethora of years. To finally connect to my soul, meld both my mind and spirit together to achieve a new state of being.. No, ascensions, no rebirth, undeath, or that nonsense but the pure bliss of finding ones own spirit.. Now. Enough for introductions let me write this in a more formal manner. It is what some gurus call, Projecting, Faded, Awake Dreaming( Sidenote-This man was not the most educated in literacy, or language), or Equilibrium. What this is has no true name, so for formality's sake let us call it Stasis for now. What it is I have found is the connecting of ones own mind to their spirit. Now, this has not and cannot be proven of course though it is what many believe it may be something completely different for all we know. What it is the equilibrium one may get when we meditate for a prolonged period of time. Waiting, waiting waiting, wai- there! you have it.. That ‘click’ of sorts or spark of life when you meditate filling your mind with wisdom, much like when a magic user connects with the void, or whatever the source they choose in their palette, it is a similar feeling to that. What I have been told and taught is in fact the ability to latch onto that state of mind and be able to go about my day with such. This ability is a serene feat indeed, allowing whoever peace of mind wherever they go, all stress, worries, all go away giving me a much clearer head to think of other things such as studying. Now, to achieve this alone, takes rigorous training, not of muscle, or body, but of mind. To infinitely connect your own spirit to your mortal state of consciousness is quite a thing, that requires quite a bit of training. And so to do so you must meditate for a long while, hours, days, weeks perhaps as long as it takes to meet this ‘click’. Now, when you have gotten this click you cannot latch onto it right away for it has just left you. What you do when infinitely looping this ‘stasis’, is you must get acquainted with this feeling know it well. And then when you have gotten accustomed to the feeling of, entering the state you are set. The next time you are to meditate, remain on your toes for you only have a split second to achieve this. The exact moment you feel the connections to your soul you must exert all of your mana, in different ways. Perhaps those who have control over their mana to seep it from their body, through a spell? Any way to remove a large enough portion of your mana from your body which scales according to your mana pool size. If you have a large mana pool, you must expel more energy, less mana less expelling of energy savvy? Now, we are connected our consciousness, mind, and spirit are all bridged together in unison. It is possible to stop there, and remain in this state for as you are in this state you will know hopefully get recognition of souls, and spirits, gain appreciation and no longer wish to take others spirits from the realm. Though, it is but hope.. Now, to go further. After reaching this state of being, of equilibrium how far can we go exactly? This is precisely what we are doing, in which we may extend our own reaches of consciousness in order to go even further into meditation. This is what I was talking of before, what sages called, fading, or awake dreaming. The next time we meditate we no longer will achieve this ‘click’ and in its place we slip into a new realm entirely. For it is slipping our own consciousness away from our bodies to travel across an unnamed plane which we create within our own souls and may see first hand. Some may say an illusion, whilst others simply call blasphemy and lies. It is gaining a higher tier of consciousness, much like the shamans go into the spirit realm and may traverse the plane in their own spirit you are doing something similar but oh so different. Instead you are delving into your own soul itself placing a metaphysical representation upon it with total control over your surroundings. Now, it is hard to explain for it can only be shown. So do bear with me. But indeed, you are projecting your mind unto a new plane a realm of everything entirely. Whilst your body remains in the realm we are in now, all functions end as your soul and mind are elsewhere. Do you wish to project your mind into a jungle filled with beautiful leaves and flourishing with life? Indeed you may and wander about in your meditative travels, or perhaps a large mountain, an ocean made of diamonds. Anything you can think of is possible, as.. It is your mind. Now, this long in you may be saying this is ridiculous, words of a madman on cactus green. Though, the most profound thing about this is I mustn't tell you but in fact I may show you. Of course, you must be both willing, and believing in this for it to be achieved. For example, if you wished to join me in a trip to my mind. All we must do is sit down together, by holding hands that act like the spiritual bond, or conduit to going this together. Through meditation we meld our minds as one, of course figuratively. After a bit longer than usual, the ‘click’ will happen and in an instant. We will be ushered to my mind. Where our travels may lay? Who knows. Perhaps I am but lying, and you are reading this for no reason. The only way truly to find out is by attempting this yourself. Or being shown it. Thank you for reading my short passage and I hope you may meet this spiritual enlightenment as I. Short passage from the journal of Beranabus Seregon To clear things up this is a short passage in my characters writings in case you have any confusions. I wanted to try writing lore in a different manner. What this is, is essentially adding a deeper more spiritual meaning to RP to characters who meditate. Where by doing this they enter a state of higher consciousness in a way. enabling them to essentially ‘see’ in first person what is going on in their mind. Where they can literally create mountains with a flick of the finger, cities life etc with thoughts. Basically getting the ability to lucid dream on command, and bring others on the lucid dream like journey with you. Whilst in the second tier of meditating if you become enlightened you have no really perception of time while meditating/lucid dreaming. So 1 day while meditating can really be 1 hour ICly, or the other way around, a few minutes may actually be a few hours Icly. Posing no benefit Physically but may be fun to bring others along with your meditation pain cannot be felt here and the person must willingly do this you cannot force them. This is just an overview and I will write it in a more in-depth way if liked also, this wouldn't be a new magic or form of magic like illusion or mental magic. But rather a state of being and the meditation is simply an ability which they gain from it Redlines: -You cannot force others to meditate in this state with you -You must have a clear state of mind while doing this as it takes a while ICly, so you cannot enter this when being tortured, under much stress, injured, etc. -You cannot actually harm or kill people in this "lucid dream" like state, you can feel slight touch, but you cannot actually feel pain as it’s not meant to be aggressive or harmful in any way. Though, it is possible to train or spar. - Nothing while in the meditation will affect the real world, only the world you think up in your mind can you change. Though when enlightened which is a permanent thing you tend feel slightly more mellow, as this is for non aggressive purposes, and people. Tl;Dr Gain new state of conciousness/being Through meditatation, you may envoke lucid dreaming upon yourself on command May bring others in your journey, though must both be calm and cannot be forced Better meditation RP for those who like it Read the freaking lore, it's not.. /that/ long.. :D
  19. It could be possible they don't fully ICly comprehend all they are doing, but know that they are able to do some set of skills and change the inner workings of a persons body. Much like healing, the same can be said about any magical breakthrough really. The point of it is to further lore, adapt, and upgrade our knowledge ICly. How would a void translocationist be able to learn how to will a physical item into the void and make it return without there being anything before it? And so on. But, I understand what you are saying that ICly we don't know any detailed explaination of germs, bacteria, etc. So it would be best for the OP to reply. Just putting what I see it as!
  20. It's possible, though I don't see it that often. Anyways the only things I would say about this lore, is perhaps format it a bit better it was tough to read through and I only really read the gist of it. Besides that the lore seems alright, though not quite sure it requires an entity to draw from or to pray to. Though, there are a very limited number of things you can really draw magic from so I suppose it's alright. It doesn't seem like it really would do any harm, though I don't really know if it would catch on enough to make a cult or group who worshiper lirn. Besides that though, I don't really see much issue with it. Just feels odd that it is a religion. Edit- I just wanted to know, what exactly does it do and how? It can control bacteria, what exactly are you able to do with that besides spread, or stop disease? Make bread? Iunno.
  21. I do believe the actual enchantment is plausible already through more detail, but less sentiance. I realize you want super detailed explaination on how this is possible, every single magic and detail to possibly pour into why this is possible, but what is the point? It's already possible, and has been done by many enchanters including myself. I for one have made my characters shoe enchanted, so when it sees other shoes it hits on the other shoes and 'licks' them. You can say that these items can be meta gamed but really who is going to go through the trouble in saying that their animated tea cup who they only play when they are around, can hear every detail in someones conversation and or see a person in their owners house and tell their master next time they see? It seems like too much trouble. It's not too close to Golemancy, it's just similiar but to a weaker extent, and in a different manner using a different magic entirely. Is elementalism similiar to evocation because you can use the same elements with each magic? No, it's done in a different manner. Aswell, I have made a flying, and free moving humming bird origami enchantment, is anyone going to complain about that? No, though really if you wanna go as far as that we may simply say as someone said earlier that it can be non canon magic. It poses no OOC benifit, or IC benifit as long as it isn't being used in combat. It's a whimsical form of magic not all too detailed and left somewhat ambiguous which I like about it. So you have a +1 from me if the lore even needs it.
