  1. The appeal of LOTC is lost when it becomes more mundane than the world from whence players seek to escape. I'm out.

  2. I forgot all the clever quips and petty questions I had.

  3. It's good! I presume the theme button simply allows a switch between the two?
  4. Yeah, doesn't work with Nexus. I found and tried a vanilla crafting table but.. errors.
  5. Hello. How does one expand a map item? (Nexus) Could've made a status update.
  6. The grimy labourer, Allaedo, scratches at stubble, not understanding much of the political jargon explained to him. Nevertheless, his chest swells at every mention of cultural recognition, and nods firmly in agreement with good, traditional family values. Enthused, he eagerly delivers a clumsily-handwritten application for membership.
  7. The more I browse the forums and consider the issue, the more I understand and support the staff decisions. I still appreciate the sentiments expressed by the community, but feel that there is still merit to be acknowledged in the decisions. As well as this, I can appreciate that it was expressly noted that this was a 'test'. Thus, we don't need to overreact about the issue; we can make the most of it, and, as was intended, observe the results. Without elitist measures such as Accumulative Reputation, we're all brought to an equal level, wherein all posts are considered with the same respect. It's been noted that it served no purpose, and, therefore, should be left as it was. That's strange logic. Anyway, the only purpose it did ever serve was to feed egos and instill an unwarranted sense of authority. A player of a few months can have just as much to say, of equal value, to one who has been around long enough to cultivate a rep of x-hundred. I, personally, find myself considering more posts seriously, keeping Rep out of the equation. I feel that the absence of Rep allows for more voices to be heard, and for insightful, valuable discussion to be given a platform. As noted by KarmaDelta, restricting those [+1]s to individual posts allows for community opinion to be conveyed clearer; [+1]s are no longer handed out for the sake of the poster's reputation, but as the mere "Aye" that they should be. [-1]s would work with the current system, but are unnecessary and easily abused. The decision regarding Status Updates was interesting, and worth testing; however, based upon results, I think we've learned that this decision needs to be revised. A casual chat platform is a near-essential thing for such a tight-knit community. However, perhaps we can hold onto both a dedicated Staff 'Quick News' box, and a casual conversational box. Such would nurture both staff-player connection, keep players informed and uplifted, and, simultaneously, provide a visible sense of life and dynamism. Negative expression in Status Updates is a matter for firm, consistent moderation. As/if we move into a new system of moderation and such, players and staff need to adapt. Mutual respect and empathy is key. Firm messages need to be made in regards to 'shitposting' and other such problems. With each issue, try as much as possible to explain. The community's reaction has been ridiculous and destructive, though somewhat understandable. All of those so quick to complain - you have that right, but, for the sake of the community you so violently claim to represent so definitively, please be sensible. There are fair points to be found, though it's hard to find and/or appreciate something that's dressed up so offensively. In the end, I can appreciate rationale on both sides, but feel that, particularly in the case of Reputation, the cons heavily outweigh any pros. I dunno; just my thoughts. Staff; thanks for your work towards a more efficient, constructive environment. Keep up the good work.
  8. The economy thanks you. Nice update.
  9. Aemyn Verde wonders if they have a portfolio as he passes.
  10. Aemyn Verde sets off to write another song about his favourite noble, grinning.
  11. Perhaps a slight change of texture for the 'linkbar?'; it clashes as is. Or perhaps just a solid border around it would help. Otherwise, it's looking good!
  12. Good stuff! The resource/shader pack combination is rather nice; which shader mod are you using?
  13. Space speaks sense. The only advice I'd offer: - Don't start a FRP based upon mere nostalgia, or because previous games 'went for 50 pages'. - Avoid Skype chats; people tend to pour their excitement into that, neglecting the actual game. Anyway, the games happening at the moment seem rather interesting. If only I had time.
  14. Individual expression is important; that doesn't mean it's always 'right'. The extreme kind of expression that you propose is one of clambering over everybody else's uniqueness in the self-absorbed attempt to have one's ego stroked. Quavinir's suggestion is what you should consider; at least it's in sync with the server's purpose - collaborative storytelling.
  15. Thanks for facilitating the game, Bird! I had fun :) soz not soz for killing you guys
  16. AFK for the weekend.

  18. Aelidar's eyes widen in surprise, his mouth writhing in a loss for words; he jumps to his feet, clenching his fists and glaring at Irish, "B-B-But I'm the vigilante!" [insert gasps here] His shoulders drop; he presents open palms, cracking a smile, "Just kidding. Ha, ha. No? Okay." He sighs, scratching his head. "Erm, well; thanks for killing people, I suppose." He produces his notepad once again, frowning and red-faced. He looks up again, "Well. In that case, I'll be abstaining until I make another connection, or there is new evidence presented." He retreats into the crowd. He nudges another citizen with his elbow, "You gotta admit it was a good case that'd make sense if he weren't the other mass-murderer."
  19. "A third of us are dead. I think now's the time to be coming to substantiated conclusions," He whispers, drawing his coat closer around him as the wind picks up. His hair billows dramatically.
  20. Aelidar rubs at confusion, suspicion, and stubble. His brow furrowed in thought, he nods slowly as evidence is presented for and against Shorty. He ponders, weighing up the evidence. He scratches his chin, then produces a notepad. He scribbles messily, noting down names, drawing arrows, and mutters to himself. He scrutinises those in the town square. Finally, he sighs, and offers the matter as he sees it. "I may not trust SkyyoBee at this moment, but I am no longer confident in my accusation, which I now retract. Similarly, the evidence against Shorty is intriguing, but I remain unconvinced... I have pondered over the words that have been spoken over these last few, terrible days, and the motives of the mouths from whence they came. I am now convinced of one man's guilt." He inhales, turning to face Irish. He stretches a single, quivering finger. "Kallimar and Oblivion, two individuals who have opposed Irish, have been killed. Kallimar voted quietly for Irish; in the chaos of the next morning we failed to consider why he might have died. Consider the fact that there is a 50% chance that Kallimar was the doctor murdered that night; if so, why should he try to heal himself, except out of fear of being killed for his accusation? The vigilante would know who the doctor was, but I doubt they would step up and confirm. The only other to vote for Irish was Oblivionsbane, but now that I think about it, we may have been very wrong in lynching him - why would a mafioso vote in isolation for Irish? Perhaps Oblivion was ridiculously unbased in his early votes - but many were. Irish was able to exploit this to the fullest, deftly turning the mob against Oblivion. Kaun also opposed Oblivion, but proved himself rather clever in the process. Why would Irish neglect the opportunity to eliminate the danger that was Kaun whilst they seemed to be on the same side? The only two to have opposed Irish are dead, with the full support of the mob. This fact demands our attention. No one yet has felt the need to change their vote, but that option needs to seriously considered. Many have been brief and unsuspicious in their votes - Elad, Shorty, SkyyoBee, Kuroi, Charoodler, Kallimar, Overland, James Green, Pandan. If we were to vote on this basis, I would point Elad out to you. However, I don't think that using such 'evidence' as justification is fair in our situation. The mafia would not all be utilising such a tactic. Irish has been employing logic, making dangerously measured statements. I have remained silent so long as is necessary to weigh up the evidence, and to analyse the motives behind words, and behind deaths. Now is the time to speak up, and I am confident in my vote for the execution of Irish." Aelidar steps back, shakily.
  21. Kaun was obviously killed for a reason; I believe it was because he was a threat to the mafia. I vote for SkyyoBee, who cast a bit of doubt upon Kaun before going with the flow to appear innocent. Their statement in the first round, made before abstaining, also seems like a ploy to seem innocent.
  22. 99 little bugs in the code, 99 bugs in the code, Take one down, patch it around.. 184 bugs in the code..
  23. I'm not 100% sure that Oblivion is a mafioso; I'm a bit suspicious of the bandwagon, to be honest, but Kaun's logic seems fair enough - he has been suspicious both this round and last. Conformity! *votes for Oblivion*
