Early History
As the plague ended, Maehr began to travel to see how the
world had changed since he had last seen it. He also went on to see more
places, yet he still never visited the Orcs, due to his fear of what they would
do to him. He cringed at the thought of being beaten to death by an orc.
Maehr tried many jobs, finding serving other people quite enjoyable. He tried being a
farm hand, with little success. He spent the majority of his time practising
his two passions, exploring the world and archery. He still did poetry as he
enjoyed studying it, but after many years of traveling there became little to
write about. The same thing seemed to happen with traveling, and he started to
dream of finding a new land to discover, and to meet new people. He began to
visit the druids more, finding out about their ways, he considered joining
them, but that fantasy ended oneday on the roads.
Attacked by a small group that what was left of the undead minions, Maehr arrived at the cloud
temple bleeding. The monks were quick to help through, and as he was healed by
them, he felt that he owed them his life, and decided it would be best to join
them. But as he was beginning to open up to the prospect of doing it, the Asulon
curse began and they were all whisked once again from the lands that everyone
had grown used to.
Maehr didn’t mind this trip as much as the first, except for the feeling of going
further away from his home. Maehr began to travel both Elysium and Kalos, and
seemed to hold off on his goals for joining the Druids or The Cloud Temple
monks. He odd various job around the island of The Elves, and he wandered the
islands in his spare time, until of course they left for the next continent.
Maehr sailed abroad the Elven boat, hoping to get his goals back on track and become
either a Druid or a Cloud Temple Monk. His journal was destroyed during the
boat ride, except for the binding, which allowed for him to save one of his
poems. He often stayed around the Cloud Temple or Leumalin in the hopes of
becoming a monk, but nonetheless he still visited the main cities, and watched
as the human cities changed drastically while the Holy Oren Empire Crumbled. By
1444, Maehr had decided to leave and travel some more, and to finally see if he
can join one of the groups he has wanted to for a long time.
The Final Years of Maehr's Life
Maehr's Death
His skills in poetry were not as good as he remembered, but he hoped it would mean something to someone. He looked out to the setting, fast on the approach to the horizon. He smiled one more time as he mumbles his last words.
"Aeriel, please care for me."
He looked towards the sun, a slight smile on his face. His eyes soon closed for the last time.
